You have a true gift and talent for teaching guitar!! I appreciate all the work you put into your lessons and the time you take to break the songs down and provide alternate voicings to the chords. It really helps me not only learn how to play the song but actually learn more about guitar as a whole.

I enjoy your vocals to help us follow the lesson. I love the different way to play the E chord.

notice in a lot of Lightfoot's songs there is a different chord that sets off the whole song....kind of a riff made out of a special chord...like he wrote the whole song out of that chord voicing.

Hi David, I am a subscriber and following your TH-cam channel. I just bought your song notes of this song, "Sundown" from your link musicnotes, Do you know where I can buy MP3 music? I want to transfer MP3 music to my "TASCAM GB 10 GUITAR and BASS TRAINER that accepts only MP3 songs so that I can play along with it. Pls response.

Beat to death that E to E7, anyone who didn't get that by the 15th explanation has the wrong hobby..

Fantastic, doesn't he play it on a 12 string?
Don't get me wrong, because 6 strings Are too hard for me most days.

Original... the guitar is tune down a semi tone. ( it's easy or you use cowboy chord) If you can SING in G MAJOR or C MAJOR.lol
So you can just play G Maj...after the bass walk up to the G Maj chord.
play the b7 with your INDEX...the hammer the G note with your PINKY
Or you can wing it with D min chord. ( if you cant play the F note on the high E)
      So it's just typical G Maj....C Maj. G Maj...ect
      D sus C Maj F Maj G Maj..
well.... you can play Longer using a 12 string ( the song is in G MAJOR/Emin)
      G Maj C Maj D sus 9 C Maj ( 3 x)
Bb Maj A min G Maj C maj D maj
during the bridge just pretend it when to
      Ab MAJ....
      it'll descend Eb Maj....Db Maj...Ab Maj
Then C Maj..then hammer the D note with your pinky to the G chord
to get back to G MAJOR...C maj...D maj
      Then the verse ..ect
Just make a simple Bb barr chord on the 1st....while completely barring
the 3rd fret with ur RING finger ( dont pick the E string)
Pick it SIMPLE and EASY like that
I play the D note with my PINKY when play the G Maj chord
      ( ommiting the high E)
if your guitar is tuned down 1/2 step..you can play
      Baby Come back.....as if it's E MAJOR...less the CAPO
It'll create a sort of 12 strings ringing sounds
( the original is in C min/Eb MAJ)..since the guitar is tune 1/2 step
      Play a fret higher...lmao
      The singing starts with the V chord ( B Maj....then G# min)
      B Maj G# min A Maj C# min
      BMaj G# min A Maj B MAJ...into E Maj ( baby come back.lol)
      E Maj B Maj C# min.......F# min G# min C# min ( repeat)
      Intro to the Bridge..
      D Maj ( n6 chord) C# min F# min
      D Maj...then G Maj
You can play the C# min...less the barr..with your pinky on the E note ( A string)
Or A maj7 LESS the barr ( At 5th fret)
After the little melody...play the A maj7 at the NUT..it's like inverted C# min,
SUNDOWN will make sense to you...if you see it in the key of C MAJOR
The G MAJ is the V chord..The song starts on the V chord.
      The D Maj...could be BORROWED from A melodic min ( A min D7 E7)
But you'll hear the D min ished at the intro

@@oneeyemonster3262 that was a little more than I asked, but I can see your good with music theory. I'm not very good at playing, and I don't spend enough time to get better. It's nobody's fault but my own for not getting better.
Thanks for the reply, I think I learned something from reading it.
Take care of yourself and your family and stay safe.

@@windrider65 Ive been trying to figure out this song for a while, thats all.
But if you get used to it...Playing to the G chord as the V chord.
      Starting songs with it....
You can play Feel like first time...by foeigner
      Just play C note..then hammer the D. Then F note ( on D string)
to G Major chord...you can play cowboy or barr G MAJor ( less the Barr)
Then side down to F MAJOR
      Then...G..hammer A then C....before playing A min
      Then Back to G MAJ
      The other part is just
      D Maj barr at 5th fret...then A MAJOR ( 2 times)
      E Maj...barr at 7th fret...then B MAJOR ( 2 times)
The bridge is in E Harmonic min
      E min...D Maj....C Maj...B Maj
Hot Blooded is sort of the same..
Do a walk up to the G MAJOR...
but...pull off on the C note...to open B...while playing the G MAJOR chord
Then C Maj....I persoanlly..play the Root with my INDEX..
Then slide my Index up to the 5th fret...( still C MAJOR)
      Then Hammer the F note..
      Turn around...
5th fret root on A string...
D maj...pull off the G note with my pinky.
I guess you can also simply play D Maj ( cowboy)...pull off the G with
      your pinky
Riff during the verse..starts with G MAJOR
      F note...thenhammer G to Bb note...
      then F MAJOR...then C MAJOR...then G Maj. ( repeat)
Its just weird becuase it's sort backards..becuase it dosnt start with the I chord.

@@oneeyemonster3262 I've got an app with thousands of songs. It lets you change the key and shows you the new chords. All I need to figure out is where to place the capo. I generally keep my main guitar tuned one whole step down. With bad hands it's a little easier to play and I can always capo at the second fret and be back in standard tuning. I just need to put in more time, but with the bad hands more time equals playing more times a day and not just longer time playing if you understand what I'm trying to say.
Thanks for sharing the info and I wish you great success on your music journey.

@@windrider65 There's different ways you can place the capo or how you
play from the CAPO. You can play it as if it's at the NUT..
      as if it's E MAJOR or E min...or A MAJOR or A min
      or as if...it's in D MAJOR/B min ( E dorian A mix)
example....Enternal Love by Susan Huff ( Bengles)
The Capo is at 4th fret....The song is in Gb MAJOR/Eb min.
or the vi chord is 2 fret higher than the Capo.
      It's as if you're playing in D MAJOR/B min...less the capo.
During the Bridge..the E Maj chord is the N6 of Eb min
E Maj D Maj...A MAJOR ( as if you went to A MAJOR)
D Maj B Maj Db Maj
it'll resolve back using ( ii V, I) or Ab min...Db7 Eb min
or just pretend it went to A MAJOR
She had also play it with the Capo on the 2nd fret.
      as E MAJOR/C#min
