This series is unbelievable!!! Thank you Fr Behr, a million times. If you've just arrived at these series, go through all the videos and be amazed...every minute is remarkable.
Fantastic lecture Fr. John ... I truly enjoyed it. You covered this at Saint Anthony’s in San Antonio. I was there that evening and learned so much, and hearing it yet again I learned more. Continued success good Father. I look forward to the time when our paths cross yet again. God Bless Michael
My question is this: what does martyrdom look like in the 21st century? Must we literally be killed by firing squad for refusing to deny our faith? Since most countries in the world are civilized and could care less what you profess to believe, it is near impossible to ever be treated that barbarically in the 21st century even if someone asked for it. Or am I missing the point of what a Martyr literally is?
Are you unaware of how Christians are treated in predominantly Arabic countries? Christians are martyred everyday for their faith. There are plenty of missionaries that will gladly allow you to join them on their trips into places where death for the faith is always right around the corner.

I’m starting my fourth time through the lectures! I finally might be ready to take notes. Lord have mercy.
Thank you for this wonderful talk. Your rare these days in that you stay out of politics, and talk Christ only.
Thank you Father. These are superb & inspiring.
He also referred to Judas as a devil, translates Satan!

@@ironsword3611Did you read a word of my comment? I'm asking in regards to modern westernized nations.
Could martyrdom in the 21st century look like self emptying, other centered, love in the face of hate ?
