Hailey and Jay are meant to be together ... That's true... But here the ending hug was very comforting... So full of compassion... Like a good friend or a big brother... Adams expression was excellent ... So touching

The whole episode was so important. It was about true love; the kind of love you would sacrifice everything for. It is a sentiment that Upton and Ruzek did not feel for each other. They care about one another but not love each other. So, because they do not feel love, it is not worth the sacrifice.

I love how he hugs her at the end, didnt he do that with Kim at the end of their engagement too? Its been a while now... A little part of me thinks Kevin and Kim but then I know Kevin will always protect Kim in a brotherly sense... I want more Kevin love scenes he is such an underdog..! I’m heartbroken. Breakups like this are way more upsetting than if someone had cheated or something! They care so much for each other, that hug shows it. I hope it’s “a break” as Adam said and not a breakup! I hope they find their way back to each other.

Best Cop Drama on tv...blue bloods might be the veteran cop show but CPD is king
Truthfully, I love these characters. Adam has been one of my favorite characters in the Chicagoverse and Upton has been growing on me. However, brutally honest they should've never been a couple. I get the staff wanted to shake things up starting when they killed off Al. However, "Upzek" never had the foundation for me. I watched this series since the beginning. And the moment when I saw Kim and Adam hooking up and how their relationship grew over the seasons felt emotional. Upton and Ruzek together just didn't click at all. I never felt the same emotion I did when they were coying Lindsey and Jay's relationship as well Kim and Adam's relationship. When I watched this scene of them breaking up, I didn't felt anything. I rather see Upton dating someone outside the police force; Adam and Kim (let's just be real) they're like Ross and Rachel, they belong together.

The fact that people think her saying , it’s more than that’ is only refers to his feelings for Burgess. If that had truely been the only reason, then he would never of hurt Burgess like that. No, it’s was more. Sometimes you want, expect, feel and know different things. And those little things that make you good, even great with someone can be a BIG obstacle with someone else.🤷🏼♀️

Upton didn’t replace Lindsay! They were on at the same time. Get it right
She was kinda replacement because Sophia Bush informed the show she was leaving ahead of the season premiere. So the show had the opportunity introduce her replacement and get the audience more familiar with her character before Bush’s exit. I’m glad they did it this way. Many actors just leave and audiences are forced to adjust to a new character. They did this on Chicago Med with Dr. Marcel and Chicago Fire on a few instances.
Upton came on at the end of a season that Lindsey left in after being there 4 seasons...sounds like a replacement. You make it sound like they started together.
She still hasn’t filled Lindsay’s place in the team because she’s nothing like her which is good but bad

i'm so angry about this....when Lindsay left the show Halstead was heartbroken and i liked them together and when this Upton and Ruzek got together i loveeedd them together...they are badass together and really care for one another...so i was super disappointed when they made them take a break and right near the season finale too. i hope they can work something out...
I think the writers went with break instead of break up and did it so close to the season finale because they are hoping to use the off season to figure out what to do with Upzek vs Upstead. I hope they stick with Haley and Adam because I've grown to really like them together. I think they work better in a relationship than Haley would with Jay. She and Jay make great partners because they are similar but I just don't see them working in a relationship.

I’ve been in a situation like this before where I loved someone that I work with. She gave me a hint that we are just friends and nothing else. Even though she no longer works where I work, I don’t want to lose her out of my life ever.
I don't understand all the hate. I get that people love Burzek but can we be realists here? This was a good, fresh, interesting dynamic. I think they had potential. They could've grown with each other's help. He could've thought to not be so serious and to show loyalty which she was starting to learn (when she talked to voight). She would've helped him to learn how to create a strong lovely relationship and not jump on engagements in every 5 minutes.
They had so much more to explore with this.
Hayley deserves someone who will teach her not to be so bossy and "i know everything" type of girl.
And Adam needs a girl who will treat him with support, love and will tell him when he is wrong.
The decisions Hailey made in the episode were not her best but still...
I don't get the whole taking a break thing. I find it unnecesary. It was not that big of a deal.
The reason I loved them so much was because they were refreshing. I think Hailey *was* pulling it off, up until this episode when she made the decision to abort Adam's undercover buy as his girlfriend rather than his colleage! I really hope this isn't over for good. I live in hope that time apart will make them realise they miss each other! But knowing this franchise, one of them will probably get shot/kidnapped/put in peril some other way and that's how they'll realise!

Kaleigh Kim doesn’t deserve Adam! She listened to Sean when she shouldn’t have and treated him horribly. And this is coming from someone who was a big fan of that couple at the beginning! Adam’s moved on and I’m glad, 100% on the Upzek ship now!

When reality strikes, it's disheartening. Their relationship was gr8 in the bubble. I think if they had more time the ending of it would be more genuine. It ended prematurely, but I do believe her and Halsted would make a great pair as it was with Erin.

Two reasons. Firstly, Lindsay and Halstead were partners, so them hooking up was a major cliche. Ruzek and Upton, although in the same unit, have very different attitudes and approaches. They even clashed a few times in previous seasons. Them hooking up was a complete surprise. Secondly, I didn’t like Lindsay at all. Upton, on the other hand, has been on of my favorite characters since she first made an appearance. I guess everyone has their own view (and it’s all cool) but I just didn’t dig LinStead.
It seems we're in the minority on this one.
