@Cory A. Bernstein Well good for you. I'm not sure where you got the idea that Upton thinks she's better than everyone. I like her waaay more than I liked "your" Erin. You're entitled to your opinion. It's just funny to me that a fictional character has got you so butthurt that you felt the need to comment on my post (which was simply a quote of what she said to Trudy) whining about how she's "fake" and "trash." Lol. You sound mad.
Voight can be really intimidating and scary sometimes but deep down he’s such a nice, sweet and helpful guy🥺

I think that hearing the story from Hailey's point-of-view made Platt happy but it was the line "I became a cop because of you" that really drove home to her that she has made a difference: a little girl she took care of chose a career and is getting pretty high up in it because of her influence and kindness.
Anyone else miss the times where Platt used to ROAST burgess😆

Ever since Burgess was promoted, it seems we see less of Platt and that's too bad. She's an awesome actress. Except for the one episode centered on her character, she is primarily used to walk up the steps and announce the arrival of someone. Waste!!! Miss the comic relief that the Platt/Burgess-on-patrol interaction brought. I liked the pairing with Tay earlier in the season!

This scene always makes me cry. I’ll never forget the day a young girl I was working with got accepted to nursing school and she said to me “ I hope I can be as good of a nurse as you are” Most meaningful thing anyone as ever said to me.
My favorite line in this episode “I became a cop because of of you” mu heart melted Platt got a soft heart during this.

I 100% agree with you there. I think it was possibly the nicest thing that was said to her in the series...except for the times when Mouch said he loved her. Beyond that so few were kind to her.
Don't know why, but this all reminded me of The Dark Knight Rises scene with Batman and Gordon.

The only guy truly and constantly grest at undercover. I mean Antonios ok. But Al is Elvis of cool any undercover sitch. I liked how he was always "In the building" before Hank knew it.
I love this scene between Upton and Platt, but it's not as powerful now given the stories she's told this season about how her father was violent towards her. It's a shame.
@Daniel Vasconcelos if I remember correctly Hailey said her father had a drinking problem and was violent towards her sometimes but they had their good times too and he saw him and loved him still as her father....so it's not black and white....

It's still powerful in the fact that Platt inspired Upton to become a cop.
He beat her and especially her mother. But mom stayed with him.
Considering she didn't even go see him in hospital after a heart attack or heart surgery or whatever...kind of tells you all you need to know.
Trudy Platt is everything they need to give her more screen time.Shes the perfect amount of tuff and tender.A great actress as well.

I was such a hater of Upton becoming permanent character after Lindsay(Sophia Bush) decides to quit the show, but she’s grown on me. In a weird way, she kinda looks like Sophia to me. Lol

Detective Hailey Upton is here to stay I was reading Chicago PD fans. With Erin Lindsay departure from the show. Alittle disappointing with Sophia Bush leaving. It will definitely be different without her character, but very happy Tracy Spiridakos is staying on the show & of course Kim Burgess will back which is a plus
Hollywood Hicks sometimes I act like Erin because she knows how to get them to tell the truth

This has to be second best Platt scene ever. The first was when her son lost the ability to throw a ball at incredible speed and from the stands, she told him to "float" the ball which lead to her son winning the baseball game.

Some people may not see her sometimes but others do. It's people like her, Voight, and others who help make our streets safer. Without them, people would get hurt. A few years ago I was all A.C.A.B and defund the police. But with recent events, I supported the police because, without them, me and my friends would not be here. Thank you officers if you are reading this

Nadia was supposed to take Burgess place as a patrol officer with Erin being to Nadia what Voight is to Erin. Platt could’ve served that role when Erin left. Killing Nadia ultimately took Platt’s purpose away.

After Haley tells Platt that she became a cop because of her, that was the first time I’ve seen Platt get that emotional in this show. It shows that Platt actually has a heart.

I miss Lindsey wish she didn’t quit
She has been gone since end of season 4 and Sophia Bush said she will never come back due to the abusive behavior she dealt with by one of the producers and actor Jason Beghe. She didn’t like the extreme cold weather filmed in Chicago or highly physically demanding aspects of the role etc. she had said many of reasons why she left and doesn’t regret leaving.

So far apparently shes signed on with a recurring role on the show but I've read an article that there is potential for her to become a series regular in Season 6. (Yesss!
