  • This is the final and last part of the interview in which Prince Far I expresses his feelings about the slackness in reggae music (especially naming General Echo) and how inappropriate it is for kids to listen and repeat such lyrics.
The first of march 2021 marked the 40th anniversary of an interview Prince Far I gave this day in 1981, the program was called Night Flight (see www.nightflight...), hosted by Alan Bangs, a British music journalist, disc jockey and presenter on radio and television who lived and worked in Germany since the 1970s.
Over the coming weeks the available parts of the interview will be posted. The interview is constructed from several sources to make it as complete as possible.

This is as rare as hen’s teeth! Thank you for posting this interview. I listened to all 12 segments. Prince Far I is my all time favorite reggae singer/musician/producer. So little exists of him outside of this and the Peel sessions. Almost no video. Big up once again for keeping his history alive. 👍🏽

Interesting comments regarding General Echo. Especially since in the one tune he talks about "and if you see Ranking Slackness the man called General Echo, you can give him my regards". Not sure how those two sentiments co-exist...

The song is named “Tribute to Bob Marley” and maybe he used all names (Slim Smith, Jacob Miller, Ranking Slackness /General Echo, Don Drummond, Jacky Opel) as a contrast to whom Prince Far I regarded as the King 👑 of reggae: Bob Marley
