Prince Far I (born Michael James Williams / 23 March 1945 - 15 September 1983) was a Jamaican reggae deejay, producer and a Rastafarian. This page tries to capture his musical and personal life and showcase the information.

From the two Bob Marley and the Wailers sessions, through the many by Misty, Culture, Aswad, Matumbi, Reggae Regular, Gregory Isaacs, Eek-a-Mouse, New Age Steppers and others, reggae always featured in the Peel Sessions. But no session has been more talked about than this: Prince Far I's only BBC date, just after his Virgin album 'Message From The King', and recorded with backing band Creation Rebel, both of whom went on to work closely with Adrian Sherwood at On-U Sounds in the late 1970s and early 1980s. New producers would not believe Peel that there was a Prince Far-I session at all, until it was called up from the archive as proof, and promptly repeated.
From Prince Far I's Spoken Introduction: 'The publics demands, my special request, to the man John Peel. Love the torment of one, happiness of two for a fellow live in the city of three. Well these tracks is dedicated, from the Virgin album "Message From The King". Well quite likely, having your meals, which is eating your dinner or drinking your tea. It's really a grace from the Prince personally. That mean, if you don't want fi read your bible, just listen to Prince Far I.'
