    I know this is an old video but being as I am new to dual PC streaming (from single PC streaming) this video was a godsend! I tried so many videos to get everything to work and nothing worked. The step by step GOXLR helped a ton. You’re awesome! Thanks!

    For a 2 pc setup with the GoXLR, it's worth noting if you also want multitrack audio recording (e.g. in OBS) for post production editing, you are much better off connecting the GoXLR directly to the streaming PC via USB (and not the gaming PC as per this video) and using the line out and line in with the gaming PC (to send the mic audio and recieve the game audio). With Discord on your streaming PC, you will also be able to record your friends chat onto a different audio track. If you want an easy push to mute option in Discord, get yourself a $10 USB foot pedal you can wire to the streaming PC. Job done.

      Hi I got a audio interface and a mic on gaming pc will my audio go to streaming pc if I get go xlr with elgato?

    • @jdaoust47
      @jdaoust47 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is exactly the way I went about it. Except instead of my line out going back to my gaming pc, I instead use the line out as a second audio source to my stream pc. Broadcast stream mix and line out to the streaming pc. Music and discord are also on my streaming pc. This way I can leave my music off on the line out for post production (most of my music is twitch safe but not youtube safe). I do not need any audio going to my gaming pc except the headset line out. I use the goxlr headset line out to the line in on the gaming pc and use my headset and headset mic for in game chat while my main xlr mic is going to my stream pc. On the gaming pc in the sound settings you can select the line in and check listen to audio. Now you are listening to all of the goxlr sounds on the gaming pc. Hope this makes sense!

    This channel has been beyond helpful this past month. I've been trying to figure out the best way to stream mixed drums with 12+ inputs while not really overloading my laptop and creating a massive amount of delay. The routing has been a pain due to the amount of inputs, but thankfully I can avoid it by using my board to mix. However, I'm definitely going to try using something like voicemeter for mixing in my DAW with live playback as well and see how that turns out! I just gotta thank you for the constant tips and advice explained so easily in your videos man, cheers!

    Whoa! Thanks man. I wish I watched this well before I bought my mic let alone my other streaming stuff. I had to go with the mix amp (awaiting delivery) simply because of the investment made on mic (AT2020USB) etc. Also the Aussie dollar makes the GOXLR around $450 where the Astro mix is $220. My 6 followers wont really know the difference. :) The 2 PC setup series has been so helpful, thanks again!!

    Thank you so much for all of your videos. I just got a GoXLR and built a new gaming rig. Streaming has been very rough the past two years, with only one pc. The frustration gets to me when I just can't get things just right so that the pc can handle the game and obs at the same time. Being able to split that stuff now is going to make this so much easier and more enjoyable for everyone. I've been using Voicemeeter and my Turtle Beach Elite Pro T.A.C. mixamp all these years. It's been an amazing tool to have, but I'm happy to finally have a physical mixer to change things. Also, RIP Sam and not muting. lmao

As a former owner of a MG10XU, the GoXLR is so user friendly. If anyone is on the edge of getting one, i highly recommend pulling the plug and getting one.

    one tip before you try Voicemeter, it CRASHES a lot!!! For every 30 mins I always have to go back and check if my voice is still ok or Voicemeter crashes and messes up my whole audio!

    • @Nalerian
      @Nalerian 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, you can't change any devices physically that are set up in Voicemeeter without it crashing. Example: I output an HDMI feed to a capture card from my gaming PC, voicemeeter pushes the audio I want from that gaming PC to the HDMI out to the capture card. I occasionally make a video with my kid from the Nintendo Switch and swap the physical HDMI cable from the PC to the dock on the Switch. Voicemeeter crashes hard and needs a reboot (you can't just restart the sound engine, the entire program crashes) and all audio is hosed.

    When I've been planning to build a dedicated stream PC I've thought that I would buy some fancy Yamaha mixer, but when it came to reality I was really on the budget. I've searched the web for ideal way to connect audio from both PC's how I need it. And one thing that had saved me is VBAN of Voicemeteer, it's kinda complicated but it totally worth it, I've learnt how it works and set it up in a few days, then just simply made a backup settings and done with it. Almost a year have passed and only a couple time I've been having problems with sound.
    Now I'm wondering to move on GoXLR mini and a new mic. Thank you, Harris, for making such a great content, you're the only guy I watch constantly on TH-cam and always get that motivational vibes from you last year. I'm kinda late on your schedule due to my work, but I just don't skip videos 😏

    I'm coming to this video a bit late looking for a nifty solution to take the audio from a 4k60 pro capture card and routing it to one of the Wave Link software's inputs, but I found this to be a super well done explanation of some solid audio setup options for anyone looking for a guide. For now I'm setting the OBS Audio Monitoring for the capture card to route to the Wave Link Game input that way I can alter the levels for me (all my audio is being done on the streaming PC) vs the stream.

      @KenjiTech 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      a 2nd pc should not be too hard to get because unlike your gaming PC, a streaming PC can have much more corners cut.
      if you are going to use GPU encoding, the stream PC does not have to have a top tier CPU and not even a high end GPU because AFAIK the hardware encoder is the same across a GPU generation.
      for example: a GTX 1050 has the same NVENC hardware as a GTX 1080ti.
      that means you get no quality improvement from buying a more expensive GPU from the same generation - get a newer entry model instead if you can afford it as the hardware encoders get better each generation.
      then again, who builds a seperate stream PC to use GPU encoding - right ?
      just slam a used GT 1030 in there and spend as much as you can on the CPU

Remember the name and on the other pc you go to "incoming streams" Add the IP of the audio stream where its coming from and press ON on both done.

    Well you don't have to complicate it that much in Voicemeeter. You can just use one of the two virtual inputs for your system sound. Then output that sound to your streaming PC, or separate it. What I do is:
    1. Use Voicemeeter Aux virtual input as my system sound.
    2. Use Voicemeeter Vaio virtual input as my game + discord sound. This way I separate the game from the system so I don't get various Windows alerts sent to my streaming PC and thus into my stream.
    3. You can use "Virtual audio cable" input + output for music. This way you have three separate audio streams that you can control directly from your gaming PC. So you can basically achieve the same thing as with a Go Xlr. At least until you can get a Go Xlr.
    If you let's say want to split your game and discord/chat too, you can always use Voicemeeter Potato which provides 3 virtual inputs. So, 3 virtual inputs + virtual audio cable and you can have the same sound separation as you would with a Go Xlr.
    Happy streaming everyone :)

  • @MightySquirrel724
    @MightySquirrel724 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can also send alerts through your mixer over channels 7 and 8 if you have a dedicated mixer, by sending the alerts to monitor only, then into a USB sound card. The USB sound card is then sent to channels 7 and 8 on the mixer (this way you can hear your own alerts as well).

    I recently just did a complex setup for my dual pc setup. I have 4 audio source coming from my main pc and going to my streaming pc - a mic, webcam audio, pc audio and elgato audio. This makes it easier to adjust the sound for my stream but also when I go to edit my videos (I record and stream) it makes it easier to change/edit each track to my liking instead being stuck with what I got. Thank god for NDI having a dedicated output filter for video and especially audio. The only part that sucked was syncing audio for my webcam with my mic and syncing my webcam/mic with my elgato for my stream

    With a wired headset and mic with USB and headphone out is incredibly easy providing you don't want to hear your STREAMPC audio - if you do, a cheap stereo mixer with at least 2 line in and 1 line out will do the trick (or pony up and get a goxlr and don't read anything below).
    GAMEPC: y splitter from speaker out to headset and to line in on stream PC - keep in mind a y splitter will decrease overall volume by a few dbs.
    GAME PC: plug USB mic in - headphone monitor jack on mic to microphone jack on STREAMPC - rather than hearing your own voice it sends it to the stream.
    OBS capture card settings, capture audio is line in jack - 0 latency providing you're cloning or using capture card as a passthrough, obs projecting will have a little bit of latency.
    Adjust headset monitor volume on microphone to increase/lower stream PC mic volume - 1 mic 2 PCs!
    This is how I have it setup for my streams until GOXLRs go down in price here in Canada and you can have more fun with your audio, I used voicemeeter in the past but I hated the latency it introduced.
    Hopefully this helps somebody who's in the same situation as me.
    Cheers!

    I keep my set-up as simple as possible. I capture video with capture card and capture audio with OBS NDI, it just works. stream PC uses USB mic and if I ever want to go in discord I use my webcam mic EZ clap. Ideally I could just connect a aux cable from gaming to streaming PC but i couldnt get it to work so i stick with OBS NDI for now

    Part 3... getting different audio sources into your recordings, while also streaming. Do you record and stream on the streaming pc? When you record it's nice to capture multiple audio tracks. What is the best way to accomplish that?

    I think if you have an USB mic, you could just have "listen" checked on 1 of your PC and a 3.5mm male to male audio cord routed to your other one. However if you do want to hear yourself I'm not sure if a simple splitter is going to work. Other sound like gaming audio and discord could just go through your HDMI or DP via capture card

    hate to add another later of complication but the main reason I haven't bought a GOXLR is because i'd have to give up my KRK Rokit 5's...I haven't thought of a way to have this two pc stream setup and still have get to keep my powered monitors. I've been debating taking the leap to two pc stream but I don't wanna give up my ability to play guitar and mix music through my monitors

    Dude you really are doing a great service. Thanks! Im a musician trying to figure out how to create a duel computer system to stream on Twitch. Computer #1 would be my DAW ( I have a Focusrite that I run vocal and guitar through , as a well as a midi keyboard that connects via USB and all of it is connected to Logic Computer #2 would be the stream itself. I think what I want is to create my live audio on #1 so i can access previously used plugins , efx, etc and then send all over to #2, the streaming computer. Still have a lot of questions about the best audio / video chain for me and how to set it up...So much to learn !

    Would you not be better connecting your GoXLR/Mini to your stream PC? That way you wont need to worry about unbalanced signals being sent to your stream. You can send your digital audio from your gaming pc (most MOBOs have a digital output). This would also allow you to switch the digital input to a console too if needed without complicated routing options.

    Thank you so much for this video. The EFX Send to isolate my microphone is solved my most complicated issue which was when all my audio goes through my mixer how do I isolate just the microphone to send to my PC and PS4 for chat...I now use the EFX Send just in line 1 to a 3.5mm to USB adapter and create a microphone source. Thank you!

    Here is an audio situation. 2 PC Setup (obviously) but you have discord on your game PC and you need to hear discord, but you don't want discord transmitted into the stream.

    Hello! I have to say, Harris went into his preferred set up of playing music through his streaming pc and hearing chat from the gaming pc, but didn't explain how to set this up to be used with the goxlr! I have no way of using the GoXLR to lower the music volume with the instructions provided here. I know this is old but I am new to GoXLR streaming and could really use help with that aspect.

    Personally I just use elgato sound capture for party and chat audio. Also with astros and the mic amp you can be plugged into both PCs at the same time

    Harris forgot to mention that you will need grounding to isolate noise/humm from those outputs for(MG10XU) since it's analog signal from there.
    So if you buy MG10XU for dual pc streaming, be sure to find something similar to this www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07RX6HFGQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    so, since this is 4 years old Harris...i'm using wavelink on my gaming pc now. I should set the "Streaming Mix" as my capture card aka HD60S (until i get the new 4k lol) so that sounds go out to the stream pc over that capture card. and i agree on voicemeeter. i hate it. been using it on my solo pc and it always has issues.

    Sooo If I understood this video correctly, He described 3 different ways to set up audio for a 2PC streaming setup? 1. GoXlr 2. VoiceMeeter 3. Huge Mixer
