Thanksgiving 2023 Just put this in the oven went step by step except I made three boxes of corn bread so used 3 eggs. I can't wait to taste it thanks for a very easy recipe.
Sauteing the vegetables in butter caramelizes them and brings out the sugars. Day old (dried) cornbread keeps the dressing from being too mushy and gives it texture.
I like how you baked it covered, fluffed it and baked it uncovered. It looks so much more appetizing than flat dressing. Super crusty and moist, more peaks and valleys to hold the gravy. 😋
This is the recipe I was looking for that's very similar to the way my mom made it, and it was delicious to say the least. Your version has all the things needed to make this fantastic dish without a bunch of stuff not included by authentic southern cooks, and I can't wait to make this version of dressing. Thank you for sharing.
YES...this was the easiest step by step recipe and thank you soooooooooooooo much. You just don't know I've been wanting to make my own dressing for years and finally did it thx to you..and it was a hit here for Thanksgiving. My wife and family enjoyed it....Thank you again for sharing❤
I like that you boil your chopped veggies. I boil mine in water and pour veggies and water into the dressing. I also add chopped bell pepper. For seasoning,it's butter, sage, cayenne, salt, pepper, raw eggs, chicken broth and juice from the baked turkey. Next time, I'm going to try boiling my veggies in chicken stock or powder like tou do.
I tried this recipe last year and it was BOMB. I've never used butter in my dressing or boiled the veggies first I always combined in raw and let it cook in the oven. Although my normal dressing is bomb these was a easier.
Thank you for an easy recipe however when adding eggs I would add them after the onion and celery cools down a little so it won't start cooking the eggs
Definitly trying this! As far as the stove top does it has to be chicken flavored or can it be any? I have the "cornbread" stove top. Also I want to add some sage sausages when should I add that?
I never hear anybody talk about the giblet gravy that they used to have my mother made with the extra chicken parts and boiled egg chopped up and all that never heard about that anymore
Sugar free cornbread is best. If possible make your cornbread three or four days before you make your dressing. You want the cornbread dry and crumbling. I love how she's not adding chicken and sausage. That is not the cornbread dressing I grew up on. But I'm only 76. 😂 why are folks not using a bowl? 🙄

I love how real she keeps it. As long as the flavor is there, adding some boxed items ain’t gonna hurt nothing. This is exactly how I make mine. 👌
❤️❤️❤️

She was using margarine not butter for this recipe
Good point. 👌🏿

True southern style had cream of celery cream or chicken or cream of mushroom but you're on the right track.
There was NO CAN soups when dressing was "true" .. .AND THATS THE TRUTH. ..
Looks So Good !😂, I will be using your recipe for Thanksgiving, I'm going to add roasted turkey legs 😂, Thankyou for your recipe and video 😂😂😂❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, can you just send me some? Looks so good!
Next time 😉
Do u put this on top or bottom rack
Definitly trying this! As far as the stove top does it has to be chicken flavored or can it be any? I have the "cornbread" stove top. Also I want to add some sage sausages when should I add that?
You can add any flavor, sausage can be added at anytime before baking
@@LoveEverythingShay Oh ok thanks!
Thank you for asking this lol I can't seem to find anyone that uses sausage. Its always chicken or turkey lol
What degree did you put your corn bread in the oven at the beginning of the video
400. Needs to be dry
Dent get chances too make this dressing self wanted Dorsey shcool.we Keep making this old fashioned way
Would it be okay to add cream of celery or cream of chicken?
Yes
YOU DID A GREAT JOB. I DO MINE SOMETHING LIKE THING. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
AN HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM US BOTH.
Happy Thanksgiving ❤️❤️
The meat like greater baby steps self cooked both of them so it will be easy
I never hear anybody talk about the giblet gravy that they used to have my mother made with the extra chicken parts and boiled egg chopped up and all that never heard about that anymore
Looks good but you don’t add chicken to the stuffing?
No. Of course if you like chicken in yours, just add it.
@@LoveEverythingShay Okay i was asking cause that’s the only way i ever saw it made so i just thought everyone made it that way lol
👍
Can we add cranberries
You can tweak any recipe to your liking ❤️
Why no cream of celery I’m only asking my aunty tells me to add it to mines
I used fresh celery
I’d sauté veggies first then Liquid
Why does adding that Sage give the dressing a green tint to it
What size pan did you use?
It's a half size pan
@@LoveEverythingShay thank you
