Jarrod'sTech yeah... good upgradability is upgradable ram, upgradable WiFi card, the ability to upgrade the ssd(of it has a separate port) and being able to add/change a 2.5 inch drive. Being able to upgrade the CPU is also nice. All of this (save the cpu) accessible from either convenience doors or a removable back.

Employers may also look for how hardworking, respectful, and honest a person is. During the period the employer may terminate the employee if they believe them to not be fit.
The one thing that isn't even needed anymore in my opinion. A TrackPoint and a Touchscreen would be much better i'd say and they would have more space for the keyboard, maybe with multimedia/ macro keys instead of a touchpad.

Linus, Im wondering. why do we never see other brands on the channel? Feels like we only get four-five brands you work with, but some others have great notebooks as well. Like HP. At work I got a HP ZBook 15u - i7-8550U, 16GB ram, AMD WX 3100, 1080p touch display, great speakers, great touchpad AND A TRACKPOINT!!!, perfectly fine IO. Im perfectly happy with it. In combination with the doc its perfect for my workday. Only tiny bit that annoys me, is that the doc blocks the USBC port and the doc doenst have Type C. Or something from Acer thats non-gaming. Bought a Swift 3 for my girlfriend couple of months ago. Absolute steal, with a 8550 as well, a MX150, 16GB of RAM, metal housing, fingerprint reader, good IO, pretty nice touchpad, very good keys, 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD. Did cost less than 1000€.
You do realize this channel has an audience of that is mostly gamers? People aren't here for work related hardware. They're here for cool tech, interesting projects, and gaming gear. Also, he's done review of other laptops. Pretty sure he just did one for HP a few weeks ago. He also reviews products that are given to him.
Because he doesn't look for them, the brands send him stuff to review, with out any requirements, if he didn't a hp review lately, is because hp didn't send him products to review, or if they did, they are not so interesting (sorry if my english was bad)
i just picked up the new stealth, the right shift key does mess me up more than i thought it would but most of the time i have my laptop "docked" using a full keyboard and dedicated screen setup. Touch is a nice extra but not mandatory in my view as i've been using a laptop without it for a few years now, i did find myself using is occasionally previously. As i mostly find myself playing RTS games when i do the MX150 left me with a good compromise of performance and portability. Multiple people have mentioned that the price feels steep and it's hard to argue that it doesn't. Buying last years model only would have saved me less than $200 new, used probably would have saved me $700 i could have spent on a external graphics setup. It was a tough call but the new design with the thin bezels, upgraded graphics, bump in CPU performance, additional battery life, and windows hello tipped me into buying the new one that i'm placing my bets will serve me for years to come.
I mean come one Linus! to call a brand Razer and not have sharp edges on your products seems like false advertisement! I personally purchased the Stealth 19 and I love it!
Personally I use right-shift for my capitals, I used to use left shift a long time ago; but personally I I found right shift much much better to use over the years.
When I learned typing with 10 fingers, I’ve learned that when you type the letters on the left of your keyboard, you press right shift to capitalize the letters
Actually we love the new keyboard layout. Linus is wrong here, again. Because having two weird half-height arrow buttons is a frustrating ordeal. Unlike the right-Shift Button, which is actually not used as much since there is the primary left-Shift button and the Caps Lock that people use more often. Though I agree, if you can somehow make it larger do it, but not at the expense of the arrow keys.

I actually bought my razer blade stealth last year, the same model linus uses, only based on looks. I loved the way it looked, and the only other laptop I liked the look of was the $1,300 macbook... When I found my razer blade stealth refurbished on razer's website for $700, my choice was pretty much made for me. The only two things I dislike about it is how it has a two core i7 with four threads, and how the secondary key functions aren't back lit. Despite this though, it powers through everything ive put it through pretty strong. As for the backlighting, I will admit I might have taken a sharp object and scratched the paint off of the keys over top of the secondary functions on the ones I had trouble finding. When the lighting is on, it looks fine. When the lighting is off... I never turn the lighting off. It was definitely a great investment for me, though. $700 for a functional, beautiful laptop I could take with me anywhere. My school lends us macbook airs, and my razer blade stealth is lighter than that. I use mine for coding, and it runs microsoft visual studio code very well. I can take it anywhere, whip it out and connect it to my servers, edit my code, and put it back away in a breeze. I love it!

Most people rarely do (sourced below). Anybody who supports the god-awful trend of stacking arrow keys in a single space to allow for the full right-shift is 1) in the minority and 2) wrong. got the mx150 for 900$ can. The screen is amazing and Heat management is very nice. I was skeptical at first but it grows on me. I work a full day on it (VFX, hardwork on remote) outside on a sunny day (1080HD, no touch) and the batterie lasted the full 8h. Keyboard is not so great for typer, but I do have big hand, (you know what they say ;)), and the edges dont hurt my wirst at all.
@@EvilTurkeySlices How old is that? I've yet to see a 5th gen onwards laptop that allow cpu upgrades, unless it's a heavy gaming laptop using desktop cpu. That said, 4th gen i7 is more than enough if you ask me. That's what both my desktop and gaming laptop use as well.

I personally do like the design. What i do think is funny, is the fact that they first started with a logo that light up and now it's just a logo without the lightning. Does remind me of Apple... I do like the design, though i still like the Macbook Pro's design much better. It's just more finished/polished. But i do like where they're going with this. They will get better eventually. Same with the Microsoft Surface products, i really love they're designs too!
I prefer the no lighting and only rgb on the keyboard, I usually set the keyboard to a dim white light and save battery on my laptop since it’s always on high performance
Everything is done right about the new Blade Stealth, love the ports selection, glad they finally remove HDMI for a USB C. But, the dGPU killed it for me, I have an eGPU when it's docked, and I much prefer it having a longer battery life when it's not docked.
Reach to press Shift? Get arrow-up instead. Reach to hit Backspace to correct the issue? Hit the *Power* button instead. Looks like a great recipe for defenestration to me.
yep. got an xps 13 instead with a fhd screen. battery life is insanely good. can still play some older games fine, which is all i could really ask for out of primarily work-oriented system.

Here's what you could do about those sharp edges. You could take a dremel to the edges, and it would make it dull, and give it a metallic look around the edges
After watching your review on the Surface Laptop 2 I bought it on Black Friday and couldn't be happier. I mostly use it for school, but also play a little Starcraft 2 on it and I would definitely recommend it over this, especially for the price.

That layout is actual ideal for people like me. Whether i'm typing or programming I NEVER use the right shift key and I love keyboards that trim it for the sake of having full size arrow keys in the bottom right corner. Not to mention the fact that as an ISO keyboard user the short right shift is more symmetrical (with the left) for me which i like. I get why some people would hate it though.
And here I am with my 2012 rMBP. I just replaced the battery and did a thermal paste change on the cpu and gpu last night. Forgot what it's like to have an 8 hour battery and the GT 650 it comes with is still pretty good for games like Dead Cells.
Actually still very capable and since it was probably designed for Windows Vista it'd have a discrete GPU. I still own mine though I hardly ever use it, but It runs Ubuntu MATE Linux since 2GB of RAM is nothing by today's standards.
That's still okay for very basic use. Had an old core 2 duo macbook lying around. Didn't use it anymore are the entire number row doesn't register anymore
I bought this immediately after I found out it had dedicated graphics. Many of the scientific programs I use for quick modeling run way better on a gpu then integrated graphics. Its good for labs and on the go power when I cant use a desktop in the field. (P.S. I never touch the right shift button.) I think he also misrepresented the competition's prices. A comparable Surface Book 2 is in the neighborhood of $2400 USD. (Not to mention that this thing is SUPER LIGHT!) Also, the 13" Macbook is a joke for productivity, and the price for comparable models is more and with no graphics options. I only agree with the height of the screen, and price. Could be taller, and maybe $150 cheaper across all models. Oh well though. Just my two cents.

I have a desktop at home but my surface pro was not cutting it for the programs i was using at school, so i really needed an upgrade. Originally i wanted the blade 15 but was worried about portability as with my surface i can barely tell its even in my bag. I went in store and it confirmed that the blade 15 especially with the power brick, would just be too big for ultimate portability. Ended up getting the stealth just the other day and with microsoft I have a 30 day return window. If it doesnt cut it, ill get a refund and try something else but so far its been great.

I hear a lot of people like the Stealth for school related things, and while I do have some of those, they really aren't too demanding. I like to do some gaming every once in a while, not AAA, but I need something that can handle medium/high settings at 60+ FPS. Right now I've got a 2018 Razer Blade Stealth with Intel Graphics 620 and after optimizing my laptop in every way possible, I still can't get over 50 fps on lowest settings in most games. It's disappointing, but I've only had the laptop for 6 months so I can probably sell it for a good enough price and chip in 100-300$ for the next-gen laptop.
Is this a serious question? In the laptop game, specs is nowhere near the main factor for price, especially not in the ultrabook game. The laptop market is focusing on getting the best specs for the best form factor without compromising on heat and weight. There's a reason why your monstrously sized gaming "laptops" are often cheaper than high quality, thin, sleek looking ultrabooks. The amount of design work that goes into these things are very intensive. This goes for LovesToSpooge as well.

Samuel Dickey on reddit, many MANY users complain about a static sound coming from them. There was a fix one user found but it turned out not to work. It’s still one of the top 3 common issues for this year’s stealth.
That this gets toasty fast. The palm rest is so thin it's on body-temperature territory. It only have a thinner, better design, touchscreen compared to my asus s410un. And it's twice the price

You do realize this channel has an audience of that is mostly gamers? People aren't here for work related hardware. They're here for cool tech, interesting projects, and gaming gear.
Also, he's done review of other laptops. Pretty sure he just did one for HP a few weeks ago. He also reviews products that are given to him.
Because he doesn't look for them, the brands send him stuff to review, with out any requirements, if he didn't a hp review lately, is because hp didn't send him products to review, or if they did, they are not so interesting (sorry if my english was bad)
I doubt other brands are willing to send him their hardware, and I doubt he wants to review it. He knows his audience, and so do these brands.

i just picked up the new stealth, the right shift key does mess me up more than i thought it would but most of the time i have my laptop "docked" using a full keyboard and dedicated screen setup. Touch is a nice extra but not mandatory in my view as i've been using a laptop without it for a few years now, i did find myself using is occasionally previously. As i mostly find myself playing RTS games when i do the MX150 left me with a good compromise of performance and portability. Multiple people have mentioned that the price feels steep and it's hard to argue that it doesn't. Buying last years model only would have saved me less than $200 new, used probably would have saved me $700 i could have spent on a external graphics setup. It was a tough call but the new design with the thin bezels, upgraded graphics, bump in CPU performance, additional battery life, and windows hello tipped me into buying the new one that i'm placing my bets will serve me for years to come.
720p? 30fps!? On a gaming laptop? Uh, okay it's fair to say that this is just a recreational laptop design. With a pricetag far too high.

Linus is wrong here, again. Because having two weird half-height arrow buttons is a frustrating ordeal. Unlike the right-Shift Button, which is actually not used as much since there is the primary left-Shift button and the Caps Lock that people use more often.
Though I agree, if you can somehow make it larger do it, but not at the expense of the arrow keys.

I actually bought my razer blade stealth last year, the same model linus uses, only based on looks. I loved the way it looked, and the only other laptop I liked the look of was the $1,300 macbook... When I found my razer blade stealth refurbished on razer's website for $700, my choice was pretty much made for me.
The only two things I dislike about it is how it has a two core i7 with four threads, and how the secondary key functions aren't back lit. Despite this though, it powers through everything ive put it through pretty strong. As for the backlighting, I will admit I might have taken a sharp object and scratched the paint off of the keys over top of the secondary functions on the ones I had trouble finding. When the lighting is on, it looks fine. When the lighting is off... I never turn the lighting off.
It was definitely a great investment for me, though. $700 for a functional, beautiful laptop I could take with me anywhere. My school lends us macbook airs, and my razer blade stealth is lighter than that. I use mine for coding, and it runs microsoft visual studio code very well. I can take it anywhere, whip it out and connect it to my servers, edit my code, and put it back away in a breeze. I love it!

Most people rarely do (sourced below). Anybody who supports the god-awful trend of stacking arrow keys in a single space to allow for the full right-shift is 1) in the minority and 2) wrong. Good on Razer for changing the layout, even if the switches are worse this time around.

got the mx150 for 900$ can. The screen is amazing and Heat management is very nice. I was skeptical at first but it grows on me. I work a full day on it (VFX, hardwork on remote) outside on a sunny day (1080HD, no touch) and the batterie lasted the full 8h. Keyboard is not so great for typer, but I do have big hand, (you know what they say ;)), and the edges dont hurt my wirst at all.

I do like the design, though i still like the Macbook Pro's design much better. It's just more finished/polished. But i do like where they're going with this. They will get better eventually. Same with the Microsoft Surface products, i really love they're designs too!

Everything is done right about the new Blade Stealth, love the ports selection, glad they finally remove HDMI for a USB C.
But, the dGPU killed it for me, I have an eGPU when it's docked, and I much prefer it having a longer battery life when it's not docked.

yep. got an xps 13 instead with a fhd screen. battery life is insanely good. can still play some older games fine, which is all i could really ask for out of primarily work-oriented system.

After watching your review on the Surface Laptop 2 I bought it on Black Friday and couldn't be happier. I mostly use it for school, but also play a little Starcraft 2 on it and I would definitely recommend it over this, especially for the price.

That layout is actual ideal for people like me. Whether i'm typing or programming I NEVER use the right shift key and I love keyboards that trim it for the sake of having full size arrow keys in the bottom right corner. Not to mention the fact that as an ISO keyboard user the short right shift is more symmetrical (with the left) for me which i like. I get why some people would hate it though.

And here I am with my 2012 rMBP. I just replaced the battery and did a thermal paste change on the cpu and gpu last night. Forgot what it's like to have an 8 hour battery and the GT 650 it comes with is still pretty good for games like Dead Cells.

Actually still very capable and since it was probably designed for Windows Vista it'd have a discrete GPU. I still own mine though I hardly ever use it, but It runs Ubuntu MATE Linux since 2GB of RAM is nothing by today's standards.

I bought this immediately after I found out it had dedicated graphics. Many of the scientific programs I use for quick modeling run way better on a gpu then integrated graphics. Its good for labs and on the go power when I cant use a desktop in the field. (P.S. I never touch the right shift button.) I think he also misrepresented the competition's prices. A comparable Surface Book 2 is in the neighborhood of $2400 USD. (Not to mention that this thing is SUPER LIGHT!) Also, the 13" Macbook is a joke for productivity, and the price for comparable models is more and with no graphics options. I only agree with the height of the screen, and price. Could be taller, and maybe $150 cheaper across all models. Oh well though. Just my two cents.

I have a desktop at home but my surface pro was not cutting it for the programs i was using at school, so i really needed an upgrade. Originally i wanted the blade 15 but was worried about portability as with my surface i can barely tell its even in my bag. I went in store and it confirmed that the blade 15 especially with the power brick, would just be too big for ultimate portability. Ended up getting the stealth just the other day and with microsoft I have a 30 day return window. If it doesnt cut it, ill get a refund and try something else but so far its been great.

I hear a lot of people like the Stealth for school related things, and while I do have some of those, they really aren't too demanding. I like to do some gaming every once in a while, not AAA, but I need something that can handle medium/high settings at 60+ FPS. Right now I've got a 2018 Razer Blade Stealth with Intel Graphics 620 and after optimizing my laptop in every way possible, I still can't get over 50 fps on lowest settings in most games. It's disappointing, but I've only had the laptop for 6 months so I can probably sell it for a good enough price and chip in 100-300$ for the next-gen laptop.

Is this a serious question? In the laptop game, specs is nowhere near the main factor for price, especially not in the ultrabook game. The laptop market is focusing on getting the best specs for the best form factor without compromising on heat and weight. There's a reason why your monstrously sized gaming "laptops" are often cheaper than high quality, thin, sleek looking ultrabooks. The amount of design work that goes into these things are very intensive. This goes for LovesToSpooge as well.

Samuel Dickey on reddit, many MANY users complain about a static sound coming from them. There was a fix one user found but it turned out not to work. It’s still one of the top 3 common issues for this year’s stealth.
