In this video, I'll be starting the process of cleaning up my garage. You may be wondering why this fits this channel. The reason it belongs on here is because I plan to make this space more organized and efficient for my potting process, building things in the garden, and other related tasks. It's also where we store our lawn mower and other equipment and tools. It just makes sense that we need this space to be cleaner and organized better. It's a mess right now, so let's see what we can do to fix that. Looks like I need to find good ways to store pots, large tools, pieces of wood, furniture, building supplies, lawn equipment, and more odds and ends. Why are these cabinets so high?! Anyone know?
    Thanks for watching!

Yeah to the future potting shed 😊. You’ve got a huge big window, I would have a long bench (or extended shelf) under it, ideal for potting up bulbs starting seeds in the spring etc. Underneath use the space for gardening storage or like you suggested have it on wheels. As for storage solutions my only suggestion is too get as much off the floor as you can, my gardening tools, hedge trimmers and strimmers etc are all on brackets held horizontally along the shed wall. Happy cleaning and good luck 🤞

Thank you so much! Yes! Love the idea to really highlight the windows. Oh, and I found brackets unopened in this garage actually! Lol 😆 Now I just need to get those special concrete anchors, because all the walls in here are concrete block.🎉

Hi Macey! GIRL, I hear you about wanting a garage makeover. I do too! I think I have taken my garage as far as my skills allow and it still needs a lot of work. I have a couple ideas for you since I started this journey a couple years ago. I reused an extra table that I already had and made it counter height by putting 2-3 bricks under each leg. I also got moving carts from harbor freight and then storage tubs that easily fit on top of them and I use those for my soil. Since they are on wheels I can easily roll them out from under the table and back and also all over the garage using a long handled shovel as like a steering wheel. You space has sooooo much potential!!! Love all the natural light you have. I bet this is going to be so nice when you get done. You may not want to throw out the charcoal. I followed a lady on instagram, she did a lot of reels on all sorts of home, cooking and cleaning hacks. She had one about using charcoal that I meant to do and totally forgot until your video today. I will try and find that for you. 💚💚💚

That sounds great, Michele! Looking into those carts now. I have some unused materials in the garage, too, that I might be able to turn into work benches or shelves! So that’s nice. The car needs to go…that’s probably the biggest obstacle about my garage is this old run down Nissan! Once it’s gone, the possibilities are truly endless!!! I can’t wait! In the future, I even envision a little porch on the front of this garage. I know, sounds lofty, but I think it could be so cute and I think if built a certain way, cars can still go in and out of the garage door. 😊 But that part is a luxury and a future wishlist item.❤

My rakes, hoes, shovels, etc are on the wall above the push mower, again to make use of my limited space. I am short, so that makes it easy to reach the handles. If I had to reach over a cabinet, I would not be able to reach.

I really need to learn how to hang things on concrete block. I'm used to wood paneling and drywall. From what I've seen, I need anchors for concrete screws. I'll do some research and figure it out, because I definitely want to utilize wall space if possible!

We got cheap storage furniture at Goodwill, like old 1990s large tv cabinets . Sure they were a bit battered, but ,hey, it's just the garage.

I love this idea! I will keep this in mind when I start adding storage and furniture to the space. It's hard to tell in the footage, but there are some unused items way in the corner near the large car garage door that may be useful in creating work spaces and shelves, but I won't know until I start moving those pieces around, and they are very heavy. In part 2, my husband helps me a lot and so much more progress is made. I think the series will be 3 parts or more, to the final product. Probably more than 3. Thanks for your wonderful suggestions. I, too, am short, and so I really need things to be lower and easier to reach as well.

I get old kitchen trash cans to store garden poles, and stakes. They are straighter than garbage cans and waste less space.
