I’ve flown the 777-200 in economy on the redeye from LAX to ORD. It was outdated but more comfortable than I expected. Cheap ticket price & was able to sleep for a good half of the flight.
Nice. As long as u made it to your destination alive that’s what really matters. Everything else isn’t that important. We have become so spoiled as a species
@@NicotineRosbergWell yes, but aside from so much useless travel, I'd like to think for the money you should get service. These seats are a product not a favour.
I’ve flown this aircraft and several times to Hawaii out of Denver. I don’t hate this aircraft but I don’t go out of my way to fly it either. When fully loaded with passengers, there are lot of people. The boarding process takes forever.
I Flew on my first 777-200 in 2020 right before the pandemic and it was by chance too. My original itinerary was supposed to be all American Airline flights from BUF-ORD-LAX-HNL, but due to an about 1.5 hour delay out of Buffalo, I had missed all my connecting flights and they rebooked me to BUF-ORD-SFO- and hop on an United 777-200 for my final leg to HNL (although a couple hours later, but that was fine). I loved that jet, it was huge, comfortable, friendly service, and the plane was half full and I had an empty seat between my seatmate and I.
I have flown in the UA 777-200 several times. My lease favorite First Class configuration. I am not a fan of the 2-4-2 first configuration, with some seats facing backwards. Too dense.
I live in Hawaii and fly these dense 777s often. I appreciate that I'm able to sit together with my family of 4 in the same row. Standard Economy is way too tight, though. This is where a United subscription to economy plus is worth the money.
The 777-200 is used for at least 1 flight daily from IAD to San Diego. I visit Huntsville and always book my flight to layover at IAD. My favorite seats are 4A or 4L. Really can't afford first class but once you do it there is no way to willingly go back to economy. And first is not much more than economy plus. I tell my husband I need to book first since I have a history of several blood clots in my leg. It is very nice for me to stretch/elevate my legs. United has terrible meals though!
Last time flying a 777-200 non ER was 2015 with China Southern, CTU-CAN. shortly after the plane was retired. Guess i need to do that again with United!
I flew from ord-den the oldest still operating 777. N774UA if I’m right . The seats were so strange in first class , eight across . It was an awesome experience though. I love the pw4k engine sound
I flew the oldest 777-200 in united airlines fleet from SFO-ORD recently and it was a comfortable flight and experience. one i hope to do again in the future.
Planning to run this in business class on ORD to LAX next year. Will also be trying the Polaris 787 - 10 EWR to LAX. Interested to see what the experiences will be like.
With their large 787 order, I think the -10 is the best replacement moving forward. Not needing as much range as the A350-900 and Patrick Quayle saying the 777X is too big, I think it fits right in the perfect niche.
I was actually able to fly on a United 777-200 within the first month they put them into service in June 1995. It was a segment from O'Hare to Dulles!! I've flown on them several times since then!!!
Overall the seats were updated so they are comfortable. The issue is that the overhead bins are original and have little to no capacity. It might be nice to just do that part of the update to keep the plane a tad more relevant.
flew on it sfo to ord last month and slept like a baby. it had a 90s charm to it and if you ignore the modern blue leather seats you can envision what it was like the fly on a united 777 when they were new in 1997
I flew on the 777 transatlantic very frequently (every few weeks) back in the 90s when they were brand new and still remember this one captain that I frequently got always pointing out a) the planw can fly on a single engine b) a 737 can fit inside the engine c) there were xxx football fields of wiring on the plane (don't remember the how many except it was a massive amount)!
I flew the domestic 777s many times after the launch and well before the Continental merger. They all had in seat video for everyone when they launched, but at some point they removed the personal IFEs for the domestic fleet. Occasionally, they would still use an international config on domestic routes, so there were still times you might get lucky and get your own screen. This was in the days when the communal screen was more common. They also had a 2-5-2 seating configuration for coach. 3-4-3 seems way too tight.
Flew economy on one this summer ORD-LAX. It looks it’s age, not nearly as nice as the 787-10 I flew on to HNL but I was surprisingly comfortable. The flight back was on a 737-800, that was surprisingly very uncomfortable.
I once flew the United 777-200 in First Class from Honolulu to Chicago, it was quite comfortable for a red eye domestic flight, much better than long flights in Europe with their camping chairs in Business Class.😂😂😂😂😂😂
only some few airlines use 777 as daily domestic routes, Japan Airlines, United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, China Southern, China Eastern, and Air China
I have flown it from SFO to ORD. I was expecting it to be awful due to complaints online but it was fine.. we had a PTV in ordinary economy with WiFi and charging.
In 2010 I most likely flew on one of these 777-200's from DEN to IAD. At that time I was wondering why such a jet such as the 777 (A long haul widebody jet) was flown on this domestic route instead of an international route. After 14 years I now have the answer.
Flew one of these from Kahului (Maui) to Denver last year and not going to lie it was pretty miserable. Seemed more cramped and certainly way less comfortable than the 737 MAX we were on on our way to Maui.
I'm surprised United still flies the 777 between SAN and IAD; It was initally meant in reaction to Alaska introducing the route to Dulles from San Diego, but it's still in service. I would expect EWR or ORD to have more passengers than IAD.
I flew on a 777 on a red-eye flight from San Francisco to Newark, it was so uncomfortable I barely slept. Should have taken Alaska with their 737’s. Their economy product is superior even though i thought a wide body would be more confortable.
United needs to change these configurations because it's awful

It's a total cattle car, with 10 across seating throught coach, cramped, uncomfortable and impossible to sleep in to/from Hawaii! Oh and NO A/V. It sucks
I recently flew a United 777-200 from Newark Liberty to LAX in coach, and we didn't have any inflight entertainment at all! I felt like I was really taken advantage of. From now on, I'm flying on American Airlines since United is getting so stingy!
This configuration is an abysmal passenger experience in first or economy. These planes were delivered with 7 seats across in first and 9 across in economy. United decided to cram one more seat in each row - making it a total cattle car. I avoid this plane as much as possible.
It is horrible, flew from Denver to Hawaii. These are the old Continental Airlines 777's whose configurations never changed, After flying Polaris, very difficult to want to fly this plane again. You physically have to step over someone if you're in the window seat or the 2 inside seats in 1st class or go to the restroom when the outside person goes. Not good when on a night flight. I'm hoping that these are the first planes replaced by new Dreamliners
It's doubtful that 777 will be replaced with 787. Most likely 777X will be the replacement for them, with a high density layout too. Hawaii is mostly a leisure destination with fewer business class passengers. Thus the high density layout in order to stay profitable.
They're the first 777's ever delivered to United, not Continental. Once 787 deliveries pick back up, the remaining 767s will be retired, then these. There will only be ER variants with Polaris configs after a few years.
When United trashes its marketing department and completely dumps it, they will double their revenue, as that dept influences the idiotic interior design decisions of their aircraft.
Why I hate flying: Airlines pack you in, like sardines, with total disregard for you. The passengers' comfort and experience are the least important thing to an airline. Airlines could care less. You are expendable because where else will you go to fly? Another sardine can airline?
These things need to be condemned already… 😂 those rear facing seats are some of the worst things to fly on. It’s a great thing that they’ve finally given Guam the 77W to HNL.
United have far too many differing wide bodies. They also need to replace their old 757s which are used daily on their transatlantic routes serving destinations like Edinburgh.
I’ve flown the 777-200 in economy on the redeye from LAX to ORD. It was outdated but more comfortable than I expected. Cheap ticket price & was able to sleep for a good half of the flight.

Flew one of these home from Maui this year. My dad was an engineer at Boeing on the 777 at launch so it was fun to finally fly on one.
Ok

I’ve flown in first class facing backward…I didn’t mind it at all and it was worth the cost over being cramped back in economy.

I flew on one between Chicago and Denver earlier this year. 1st class. it was an amazing flight.
Flew it IAD-SAN. Cramped and no TVs, and the WiFi was very inconsistent
This channel really does love its dense 777 config videos!
364 seats is not that dense, Red Wings Airlines have 412 in their 200ERs, and Nordwind Airlines have 440!
Sardine Airways.
😂
@@warmikewell Indigo has 531 seats on its leased 777-300ERs
@abhigyakhandelwal9215 the 300 is bigger. The record holder here is Southwind Airlines with 550 seats.
copying my comment on the previous video?
I flew the oldest 777-200 in united airlines fleet from SFO-ORD recently and it was a comfortable flight and experience. one i hope to do again in the future.
Yes, back on January 1, 2017, when I boarded a flight from Newark to San Juan, PR. I love the aircraft, and it was a pleasant experience.
Planning to run this in business class on ORD to LAX next year. Will also be trying the Polaris 787 - 10 EWR to LAX. Interested to see what the experiences will be like.

I flew a United 777-200 from Chicago to Cancun in 2019. It was spacious but tired looking and very much in need or a cabin refresh.
Overall the seats were updated so they are comfortable. The issue is that the overhead bins are original and have little to no capacity. It might be nice to just do that part of the update to keep the plane a tad more relevant.

Yes I flew on one back in March from EWR-LAX sad I’ll no longer be serving that route 😢
Flown these in business from IAH to LAX and SFO, dated but very comfortable for a nap on a short red eye 👍🏼
In business? More likely domestic first.
I’d like to see this for the other 777’s and the 787’s
The 772 is my favorite aircraft to fly on as of now
Please do a similar report on the United 767 fleet!
That’s a lot of crew members for a domestic flight. I say as someone used to A320 family aircraft or smaller operating our domestic flights in the UK
I just flew on one a few weeks ago! Newark to Milan.
Oops, I just read the title again - I was on the 777-200ER.
I was surprised not to see LAX-JFK with this type but that's probably so competitive maybe they are using 787-x or do they have a A-350X on that?
I flew the domestic 777s many times after the launch and well before the Continental merger. American does not have 330 seats on its active 777W
United needs to open route to Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad Pakistan
Can't comment on premium but in economy these aren't that bad really
Don't tempt American Airlines to do something similar. Their narrow-body planes already packed with too many seats.
The 300 ER came from Hawaiian airlines.
Cattle cars with first class less class than premium economy on other airlines.
