For anyone getting to the point just after vertex point and the cloth doesn't fall through - it seems you need to make the plane editable now so go back a few steps, select your plane and hit C > add cloth tag > add vertex map > tick box "use fields" > in the Freeze field turn on "Auto-update" > add spherical field as per video and you should be all good! worked for me
In Cinema 4D 2023.2.0 this still doesn't seem to work for me. I have set this up, step by step and the only way I get the cloth to fall through the Tube hole is by changing the settings to 'Grow' in the Freeze section of Fields. However, this then stuffs up my scene when it comes to editing the gravity. HELP!
This one is pure gold! I've wondering for ages on how to procedurally generating that recursive subdivision, and now, boom! it comes as a capsule linked in the presentation! Simply epic!!!!
The amazing thing about motion design and animation in general is that although I use 3ds Max, there's still tons of useful information to take away from this. I steal tips from these Maxon guys all the time
Great tutorial Jonas :-) -- I am attempting this in 2024 and can't seem to get past the 6 min mark where the cloth actually goes into the hole. Are you aware of any changes in the simulation system since 2022 that might be breaking this? Happy to share my file if there's a good place to do so. Thanks again, david.
Think I solved it, still a C4D newbie BUT. It looks like in an update they made Vertex Map fields update live during the sim. So the vertex map will be right the very first frame but then update. Do everything the same but when it's time for the vertex mapping, make the plane editable, turn on the vertex map, and pain the central point. It should work then!
@@RwyoungIV It was a new chenck box in the vertex tag they added with the update. It's called Use Deformed Points. Once I unchecked it, everything worked fine.
successful. TNice tutorials video has made tNice tutorials software SO simple to understand that I have full confidence I will be able to beco super efficient

good presentation dude, love it!
Excellent technique! Love it 🎉!
fantastic stuff Jonas!
thank you so much , it worked :)
daym how did I miss the update so you don't need editable poly's for vertex maps!!!

Top!
Studying how to use soft soft is far more important than studying for my exams lmao
Eric Bridge do you know it’s na? Pure curiosity lmao
so I tried recreating this, but after I export it as alembic, the cloth just bounces a few times and then it stops and it repeats. idk how to fix it
