Stealing someone's thunder" is not limited to sharing the exact same news as the person who had something important to announce. It also includes the act of sharing one's own significant news or information in a way that diminishes the impact or attention that the original person was expecting to receive for their announcement. It's about taking the spotlight away from someone else's moment by diverting attention to oneself or by making a related announcement first, thereby reducing the significance of the original person's news.
I strongly agree with you the fact that we really need to learn the correct words cuz we are trying to copy and imitate thank you for pointing out all of the mistakes they made
I love my English teachers!💟 You both are the best and most professional Teachers! Thanks a lot for another good lesson! I can't believe that she teaches English and charges for that!
Great video, thank you, English for Everyone! Please, could you explain more about “there” and “it”. I understood, the sentence “It will be rain” incorrect, and instead of “it” should be “there”. But I didn’t catch why, unfortunately
Thank you for the video! Kevin, when you talk about find out as a separable phrasal verb, do you mean all separable phrasal verbs require the direct object in the middle?
In the case of language learning, being a successful language learner or teacher often involves effective strategies, dedication, and an understanding of language structures rather than simply being a native speaker. Similarly, successful coaches may not have been the most accomplished players themselves but can excel in analyzing the game, understanding strategy, and effectively communicating with and motivating their players.
This is why we should learn a language with a native speaker, I wasted a lot of time with teachers like her where I live, in Brazil. You get mad because you think that you’re learning English but you’re not …
There are little mistakes for instance some phrases did not with images but who does not make that regardless it. Everything is useful for our progress. Thanks Lissa and Kevin.

2M of poor people who think she is really able to teach them or anybody. She is making too many mistakes even for C1 level. Some of them are basic. But I like her. She is not affraid of being silly.
I agree that teaching incorrect phrases is terrible and it makes you seem less professional as an educator, though we all make mistakes. When Native English speakers make simple mistakes when they're talking, it doesn't make them less "native". Non-native speakers also make mistakes because they're people and those mistakes definitely don't define their expertise.
@@agogooo9776 u can make as many mistakes as u wish while talking to your friends. But if u r trying to pretend to be a teacher for the audience of 2 M u had better show your respect and check your content. This is not a daily conversation, it's a well-prepared speech shot on camera. At least it should have been so. But she never makes herself double check the content. Her audience are people who are not adept enough to notice her mistakes. This is a disrespectful mogilko style attitude to her followers.
Hello, I'm still confused about the idiom of stealing someone's thunder. In the Friends series in season 7, Monica is blaming Racher for stealing her thunder but in that case Rachel just used the happy moment of Monica to build own happiness. Or I didn't understand something? Please explain
if the news, usually exciting and positive, has nothing to do with you, don't spoil someone else's moment of revealing it to others, in other words, MYOB. If you accidentally discovered the news, or it was shared with you on the condition of not spilling it out to others, keep your mouth shut, it is not your business to reveal it to others, taking all the excitement, the element of surprise out of it.
I think that the problem was (from the Monica’s point of view) that Rachel tried or could outshine Monica’s relationships with Chandler. Roughly saying the word “thunder” can be changed with “other’s attention” or “praise” and the meaning remains the same.
Did you get those mistakes from old videos? In the videos you chose she doesn't sound natural when speaking, however in her last videos she looks more comfortable with the language.
Quit university is also correct. I don't know why he would say it's incorrect. You can use the definite article The with college, school or university but the meaning will change.

Great job indeed. Mr kavin
there's google for Pete's sake...put a phrase or a sentence in parenthesis and see if it brings any results, if not, something is not right.
The worst thing is that all the mistakes are in the same video, which makes you think that all her videos are filled with errors.
Hi Kevin! Thanks a lot for you lessons, but should not we say " Do your THE best" ?

No, good I missed the job. 😉
Only NATIVE SPEAKERS CAN TEACH correct pronunciation. This is the true of life, and there is nothing offensive in this. Thanks for doing it

She should be reported and removed from TH-cam immediately for teaching a fake English. Teachers need to have credentials to teach in the USA.
