VoicePlay's arrangements are done by Geoff or Layne, more or less alternately. Eli did do one but other wise it's those two. And whoever did the arrangement also does the editing, they share the filming and Eli is in charge of lighting and backgrounds. In the more recent videos they do hire steadycam operators, although Layne will do that for Geoff's solo videos. It's all them. They are so much more than just singers.
I saw a comment on someone else's reaction to this that i think is utterly appropriate: "When your voice is so low that it shakes objects around you, you're a bass. When your voice is so low you're called upon to replicate the thundering sound of a Viking warhorn, you're Geoff Castellucci."
One person - usually Geoff or Layne - heads each project from arrangement, through recording, to post production. It goes to Ed Boyer for the final vocal edit, but they’ve found that the closer they can get it to what they want first, the better. Then Ed just polishes it.
And the backgrounds in this (and in Valhalla Calling) were done by Eli (rock tenor) using some special software (I can't remember the name). He often does the lighting, too.
Subbed today! Thanks for another fun reaction. And agree, they are very balanced in sound and style and everything. They give it their all and they are gifted at arranging!
Count me in the group that doesn't mind the pauses to react to the video - that's why I am here, for YOU and your insights. If I want to watch their video, well.... I'll go watch their video! You very kindly link to it in every reaction you do, PLUS go the extra mile in including other artists' patreon info and watching the end credits. Love the respect you show!
Thanks for another terrific reaction to Voice Play! This one is from the 'Assassin's Creed' video game and is a prequal to their recent release of "Valhalla Calling" (also from 'Assassin's Creed' with the same characters in same costumes but more updated technical effects done by high tenor, Eli). Geoff and beatboxer, Layne take turns doing of their arrangements (Geoff and Layne have been best friends singing together since they were 12 years old in Jr high school and Layne pushes Geoff to hit the insane low notes in his arrangements while Geoff pushes Layne on the beatboxing in his arrangements). Eli, bald, high rock tenor is amazing with the lighting, backgrounds and technical effects.
When it comes to the arrangements that VoicePlay does, both Geoff and Layne will take turns. Both of them are really creative with how they arrange each song.
Hey I'm a new subscriber. I watched one of your videos and you were talking about how you get some negative comments. You're always going to have haters. Don't pay any attention you're awesome. I love your reaction videos. I have to be honest I judge to book by its cover when I first came across you and thought you were going to be a punk. I have this image that rappers are thugs, but I have to watching you I realize that you are very intelligent and have an awesome personality. Keep the comedy in your videos. I'm not going to hip hop I'm old school I love my '70s and '80s music but hey it's all good and I love your reaction videos. Stay safe out there my friend. 💙
These guys and Home free have so many great covers. I'd love if you could do another favorite of mine, a band called "Postmodern Jukebox," they have a cover of CREEP by Radiohead sung by Haley Reinhart in a vintage style. She is amazing too! God Bless and Goodnight~ Beth Ann
Very nice.. do you know the band called "THE WARNING" Try some.. 3 sister's from Mexico. Try Discipile, Animosity, or Enter Sandman, Martirio, Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX. You will not be disappointed.. 🤟🎶☮️
Okay. I'm going to throw the wrench into things...I miss your spontaneous, at the moment feedback! Your face/body does something during, but it's impossible to go back and explain and/or point out the cause. The moments gone. BIG SIGH! I know you get pressure from both sides.
@@AnthonyRay I do understand... but isn't that, what reactors should do? IF they don't know what to say because of lack of knowledge/words/... it's o.k. they do the oh-ah-eyerolling-thing. BUT you're a magnificent singer yourself. You're a pro. You could tell so much, no!? Stop. Tell us! 🎉❤
+1 for Hoist the Colors... Geoff has a surprise stand-out moment in it.
+2 for Hoist the Colours. 🙂
+3
+4 because Eli's "DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" jumpscared me

I LOVE that 3 step closeup of Geoff as he's descending! So effective.

Unreal Engine
I started listening because of Geoff's voice, but I ended up falling in love with Eli's voice.
It's worth noting that this was done during covid, so they weren't physically anywhere near each other.
It's a fog horn! Great reaction, as usual, thanks! Cheers from Italy!
I tend to think he sounds more like a Viking War Horn - at least in this particular song.
Subbed today! Thanks for another fun reaction. And agree, they are very balanced in sound and style and everything. They give it their all and they are gifted at arranging!
The sound is balanced maybe because they arrange the music themselves.
Layne (beetboxer) and Geoff (bass) alter the task between them.

The lyrics for this were taken from the Saga of Egil Skallagrimson, which was written around the 12th century. It's actual Viking poetry.
Ed Boyer is their sound guy. He's great.
#3 for Hoist the Colors! Then Queen in 5 Minutes!
Sea Shanties were so 2020. VoicePlay went full Viking with this one.
Keep on keepin' on, man!

Correct, there are always people telling me to zig and others telling me to zag. It is what it is.
