Javier Bardem plays the best villain!! In Collateral, in No country for old men, in Skyfall, etc. But, also the best lover. In the year after he made No country for old men, he played a passionate lover in Vicky, Christina, Barcelona. Doesn't matter what he's in, you know he will deliver!
Psychiatrists have deemed his acting of Anton as the most realistic psychopath ever portrayed in film. Top 10 most iconic characters ever. It’s up there with Shawshank Redemption, Amalie, Ernest Saves Christmas and the Seven, as the best movie ever made.
Javier Bardem is such a wonderful human being not only is he an amazing actor but he also has a huge amount of empathy for other people and he is very humble .It is an absolute joy to watch him in any film that he is in
he reminds me of raul julia in more than one way: total ownership of scenes, acting even when not delivering lines, and portraying unforgettable characters
Bardem is the greatest Spanish actor of our times. I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at the Hollywood debut of "Before Nightfall", where he played the role of Reynaldo Arenas and perfectly captured the Cuban accent of the character
I've known Javier Bardem all the way back since 1990s, long before he made his foray in Hollywood, when I frequently watched Spanish movies on Australian TV
Before Night Falls is an astounding movie. It's this universe so few of us had seen, and Bardem is stellar in it. Still one of my all time favorite movies and actors.
Although it’s not discussed in this interview I think one of his most memorable roles was as the Cartel contact in Collateral. He is only on screen for a few minutes, but he’s clearly the stand out actor in that movie.
Yes! I saw another one of these charachter recaps of Javier and they also missed that one. Collateral is a fun enough movie but that small role of his is my favorite part of it.

He’s seriously gonna go down as one of the best actors ever!
He’s NEVER less than great!!!
His range of accents is mind-blowing
What a great speaker, I love the way he talks about these projects and what he chooses to talk about. Excited to check out a few of these, too
Psychiatrists have deemed his acting of Anton as the most realistic psychopath ever portrayed in film.
Top 10 most iconic characters ever.
It’s up there with Shawshank Redemption, Amalie, Ernest Saves Christmas and the Seven, as the best movie ever made.
Javier Bardem is such a wonderful human being not only is he an amazing actor but he also has a huge amount of empathy for other people and he is very humble .It is an absolute joy to watch him in any film that he is in
his character in no country for old men still gives me chills, one heck of an amazing performance
Mr. Bardem is a fantastic actor. One of the contemporary best. Everything he is in that I have watched has been fantastic.
he reminds me of raul julia in more than one way: total ownership of scenes, acting even when not delivering lines, and portraying unforgettable characters
This man is one of the best actors the word have ever seen
Bardem is the greatest Spanish actor of our times. I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at the Hollywood debut of "Before Nightfall", where he played the role of Reynaldo Arenas and perfectly captured the Cuban accent of the character
I've known Javier Bardem all the way back since 1990s, long before he made his foray in Hollywood, when I frequently watched Spanish movies on Australian TV
He will forever be Stilgar. He fits the character so so well
Captain Salazar has to be one of the most iconic, his acting was beyond imagination
Before Night Falls is an astounding movie. It's this universe so few of us had seen, and Bardem is stellar in it. Still one of my all time favorite movies and actors.
Could he be any more humble? It's so genuine, too. I bet he's surrounded by so many loving people in his life because that's why his energy brings in
Although it’s not discussed in this interview I think one of his most memorable roles was as the Cartel contact in Collateral. He is only on screen for a few minutes, but he’s clearly the stand out actor in that movie.
Yes! I saw another one of these charachter recaps of Javier and they also missed that one. Collateral is a fun enough movie but that small role of his is my favorite part of it.
I don’t like action movies (generally), but I wonder if someone has posted his scene somewhere so I don’t need to sit through the whole film to see it, lol!
@@ZZBoomslang you should give it a try, it's one of the greatest movies out there.
@@lucianaromulus1408 I'm usually not a Tom Cruise fan, but watched Javier's scene shortly after I posted this comment and it was great, so maybe I'll give the rest a watch.
@@ZZBoomslang if you hate it you could always turn it off lol but I swear its fantastic 👌
"No Country For Old Men" is a great film. I Have the DVD, watched it again the other day! One other role of Javier that was missing here, was the small bit it "Collateral" I love his "Little burro" story. He's playing a ruthless crime boss.. but when you hear him speak he makes you "like" his personality. Great performance!! 👍👍👍
I wonder why at 0:07 the person who send him the Dune 2 message was bleeped, maybe he accidentally revealed the name of a new cast member. Feyd-Rautha or the Imperator maybe?
I imagine that he is talking about Josh Brolin, but I ain’t sure
@@danielhaccou9902 Actually, I read at Indiewire today that he ment as you said Josh Brolin! So, I'm sorry for the false alarm😅!
It was Josh Brolin! He’s said it in other interviews
Absolutely loved him in No country for old men. Incredible performance.
it's amazing how he could perfect his character's accent, the behaviour and small details. A real artist and professional actor who embodies his role
What a legend...with so much more time and talent to give.
Javier Bardem in No Country for Old men is one of the best performances of all time.
He was easily the best part of No Country for Old Men, one of the greatest acting jobs of all time. He was also really good in Skyfall as well, he played in my opinion one of the best Bond Villains ever.
No Country For Old Men is one of the greatest movies ever made with little to no dialogue at times very clever movie and brilliant performance by Javier Bardem
This man is a brilliant actor..I watched No Country few days ago and man he has done a brilliant job... ❤️
He could say that he hasn't had an iconic role, but Anton is still today one of the best depictions of a psychopath ever played. He's also still one of the best villains every played. He should really be proud of that. Its not often that the antagonist outshines the protagonist.
His character in No Country For Old Man was one of the greatest villains and iconic characters ever!
It makes a special talent and genius act to create a villain who is not hated, but adorable! Amazing job, Javier!!
I saw "Before night falls" and fell in love with Bardem. It was brilliantly acted and a beautiful, but stark film. I have loved Bardem ever since, and his craft has only gotten better with time, if that was even possible.
No Country for Old Men and There Will be Blood might be two of the best movies ever made that happened to be in theaters at the same time
Javier Bardem is one of the best people on the planet. always there for the good time and to laugh, so thankful and humble
The Boss! Javier Bardem. What an icon.
'Before Night Falls' was my introduction to the magnificent Javier Bardem. I still remember seeing that movie back in 1999 and it truly opened up my eyes to so many things.
Can't wait to see him in the second part of Dune. Whatever he is in, he's dynamic. Even in smaller roles.
Javier and Ledger are cream de la cream of sinister characters. Their techniques are different, but the results are bone chilling experiences that makes your think.
He’s a fantastic actor. Call It.
He so deserved the Oscar for No Country
I'd watch Javier open an envelope - what a superb artist : - )
I mean, watching anyone open an enveloppe on screen, especially with one of those mini knife things is just nice to look at
True definition of a great actor ..
I love what he did in Skyfall and being ambiguous in every way especially sexually, brilliant. A villain who everything about him is so unpredictable, amazing.
"You stand to win everything" hits on so many levels
Its adorable seeing the actors make sure we know THEY dont think theyre iconic, its just what theyre supposed to say. The humility itself is iconic 😂
That scene at the gas station must be the scariest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Great actor and great writing.
No country for old men is one of the greatest films ever made. His portrayal of Anton Sugar was ICONIC
'The Sea Inside' is one of the most unforgettable movies ever made.
I love how clean he pronounces his name
That gas station scene just made me shiver , him and the clerk had great chemistry. No country for old men was so good .
imo, I have a bachelors degree on clinical psychology, he described psychopath so precise, well and fast that made me understand now why his performance is considered the most accurate one ever according to some about it, great job!
Even with this lovely interview with such a kind man, I’m still f**king terrified of him
I am surised “Salazar” wasn’t mentioned as one of his most Iconic characters in Pirate of The Caribbean Dead men tell no tales 🏴☠️
Right!
He is an outstanding actor. His instincts playing his character(s) are amazing. Thanks appreciated.
He's amazing at Love in Times of Cholera, and I'm not a big fan of romantic movies, but I loved his performance there.
Javier Bardem , when I watched No country for Old men , I was bambozzled by your mesmerising performance, so cold and evil , you were the death knell for anyone in your path. Today , when I see you smile and talk ,I cannot imagine what an amazing actor your are, to change into somebody so horrifying and so cold and brutal. Hats off to you man, once in a lifetime movie and an act that will go down as one of the most dangerous villains ever in cinema....
im biased but anton is one of my favorite movie characters of all time, too underrated
Love how he compliments and recognizes the ppl he works with
most people only recognize him as Anton Chigurh, but if you haven't seen Biutiful, you are missing out on his deepest performance
