This series escaped my rating range a while ago. I've stuck around cause its entertaining to watch Daniel so gracefully win against these high rated players.
There was a nice comment thread on video 41 full of comments with the same concepts Daniel repeatedly points out. Watching Chess players flex their skill is fun, but the additional simple and thorough explanation of why really enhances these videos.
I live the in the UK. Watching these videos first thing in the morning with a nice cup of tea is the perfect antidote to Lockdown blues. Thank you Daniel.
I used advice I got from you to win a nice game the other day. The position became closed, and I remembered you saying it was okay to play some slower moves in a situation like that, so I lumbered my rook and queen over to the kingside and found a nice checkmate shortly after. Thanks a million Danya!
Danya's brain just expands with every new episode. It's so obvious he gets more and more enthusiastic as he gets to play better opponents, it's beautiful.
just my two cents here. Daniel is the GM who explains his thought process the best (at least on TH-cam). I have been looking around for a while now and I keep coming back here. well done sir, and thank you.
One example of an exception to the three move rule comes from Smyslov Panov Moscow 1943. Because the position was so thoroughly closed (the first capture of the game comes on move 40.), Smyslov had enough time to walk his king all the way from one side of the board to the other and reroute every single one of his pieces before he began his attack. It’s one of the most astounding games I’ve ever seen.
He actually showed that game in one of the early episodes of this series! IDK exactly which one it was though unfortunately. He was either illustrating the power of king activity or he might have been making the same point as you: using it as an exception to the 3-move rule. It's one of my favourite games too - it must have been a very satisfying to pull off that manoeuvre.
Old beginner in my 60s defining how I’m going to learn chess after failing at around 10 years old & again at 15 years old. I hope to avoid my previous failures by watching & listening to a bunch of TH-cam videos. And I’m rewatching this series as I’m finalizing how I’m going to learn. Imho rn this is THE.BEST.OPENING.VIDEO It’s so rich from beginning to end & digestible because of GM Danya’s excellent teaching style.🙏
@Daniel Naroditsky You are suuuuuch a good teacher and I really enjoy watching and listening to you whether it is general commentary such as Tata Steel yesterday or these speedruns. You seem like such a nice guy! Much love from Sweden!
You should totally go into theoretical waters. Every person/streamer I watch always says they're not going to get into theory and just cover the broad strokes... I want someone to actually cover the theory. It is a lot harder than you think to find main lines and alternate lines and all the theory behind everything. I have no idea where to start and believe me I've been searching. The only thing I can think of is you have to rent or buy books on specific openings. So yeah, you should definitely get into the theory of openings and middle and endgames
Is it just a running joke at this point to say "I'm going to start playing different openings but let's play the KID again?" Always get pumped when I hear the first part!
This series is god tier in youtube chess videos. A recommendation if it's possible: Maybe the editor can flash the question briefly if Danya didn't read it out loud so youtube viewers don't get left out. Again, thanks for the series and it's been very amazing!
Just played an all time best game with 97% accuracy and im not up to 1350, was at 1150 when you started this series it is reallly good, more games around the 1800-1900 mistakes from your opponents are sooo educational
Hey danya, i love your instructional style. The only thing I find myself going to other channels for supplemental content of is quick vids explaining openings. I would love to see you make more of that content in the future
@@KironKabir I guess thats what it takes to be a super gm. But that is classical though, I believe Daniel is talking about blitz where you cant calculate as far.
Rook placement. I recall he said earlier in the course to place the rook behind the pawn that will contact in a pawn break. Is that true? I can't begin to thank Danya for this information.
Hey danya love the series. I think a good idea for openings is to do a poll on TH-cam to see what the most popular opening people want to see is. Keep up the great work :)
Check out his video library. This is his 45th speed run video. He started at the beginner level. He does two games per video and explains important ideas during and after the game. 👍
@@nathansharp3193 yes so he moves on from one rating range very fast with 4 to 5 games,, I wish there was more games in each rating range like 1700 level 10 games then 10 games with 1800 players like that

Danya: it is already checkmate ladies and gentlemen

@@AISlopForHumans The speedrun episode before this!
i always think it's crazy when GMs say "let me think" and then close their eyes.
I've heard they do it because it's easier to visualise the positions in their heads without the board in front of them to distract them.

The rivalry between Danya and chesslebanesesaleh is like Magnus Vs Hikaru
But better

This is hands-down the best instructional chess series on TH-cam!
In english.
ChessLebaneseSalah is crazy strong for his rating, pretty cool to see him surprising you twice.
