Actually shut down was a mv that had components from all the old music videos, to kind of show that they are moving forward from the old videos and eras. So a few of the components of ddu du were in shut down, as well as some from other songs like whistle
BLACKPINK's current world tour is already the largest by a girl group globally, it has already exceeded 163 million dollars and has already doubled the tour of the SPICE GIRLS who had the record with 78.2 million dollars, the incredible thing is that BLACKPINK still has 22 dates left so they will easily reach 250 million dollars.

Shut Down video wasn’t copying D4, it was recreating Bp’s past. Shut down is about the group’s success in the face of haters and they reference 4 iconic songs in the process, D4 being one of the many. That’s why the MV had white background - for deliberate emphasis.
and DU-DDU-DDU-DU is not random; it’s the sound of gunshots. you’ll notice the girls were shooting finger guns as they say it. The song is representative of their name - they’re more than a pretty face, they’re deadly

DDU-DU DDU-DU is the sound of gun shot. Basically saying don't judge them cause you may think they're sweet girls but they can hit you with the ddu du
The girl is wearing a shirt of her own face her name is Jisoo and in Shutdown she is walking that same catwalk in front of this video on a screen behind her.
That is not Jisoo on the shirt. It’s a Calvin Klein/Andy Warhol shirt with RAF Simmons’s face(another fashion designer) on it. Not 100% that’s him but 100% it’s not Jisoo on the shirt.

The shut down mv was basically paying homage to their older videos. So the sword, tank, and chandelier were all apart of the ddu du ddu du mv first.

The name "DDU-DU DDU-DU" is an onomatopoeia, which is a word that describes the sound of something (like "boom" or "zap"). DDU-DU DDU-DU is the sound of gunshots, the girls are describing the feeling of getting hit with their unique swag.

The set during the final dance break is based on a Korean temple design. All of their sets are built and shot in-house, they have "Making Of" videos to see the level of production that goes into the music videos. The final scene with the pink smoke was difficult to film, the girls said that they had to sit perfectly still and not blink, then when the director said "Cut!" they had to jump up and run at top speed because the thick pink smoke completely filled the studio.
Their latest song shut down had everything from their past music videos, and you can see in shut down them shutting down the garage doors, its them saying they are just beginning to do new stuff and left the old stuff behind.

Killing Voice is kind of a combo of an artist's songs performed live, in a studio and it's not unique to Mamamoo. it's a great way to introduce yourself to a lot of songs from a particular artist without having to watch all their videos one by one.
Hey guys, it's been worded a few different ways, but the re-using of sets and props in SHUT DOWN was deliberate, in fact it was the entire point of the song. The meaning of SHUT DOWN was twofold. Firstly it was a response to their haters (which is par for the course in K-Pop), and secondly the group is "closing the door" on their old music so they can "level up" to the next version of BLACKPINK. That's why they recreated scenes from their older music videos, then took an elevator "UP" at the end, and walked into a hallway filled with doors, representing their next songs. You just happened to start with SHUT DOWN so you're kind of seeing things in reverse rather than the order in which they were meant to be watched. They used the most iconic moments of their older music videos as a callback before they shut the door on them.
HI guys! I followed your Harry Potter reaction, and didn't realize you guys also reacted to BlackPink! I love BP, I think you guys should do more of their reactions, maybe How You Like That or Kill This Love if you haven't heard it. BlackPink is play on their group- Pink is definitely their feminine/girly soft and playful side, and Black is definitely the "don't f*ck with us" gritty side of them. An parallel example to their songs would be- this song for their Black side and Ice Cream for their Pink side (also, Ice Cream is another one you should do, it's with Selena Gomez!) You guys watched Shut Down first, so you're noticing things in this video that were used in Shut Down. Shut Down came out later and payed homage to their own videos, and included iconic parts of their old videos into Shut Down's video... It was talking up themselves while also ending that era in order to renew themselves.
Also, she's trippin. Nothing cheap about their looks. Music video fits aren't gonna be something you'd wear just anywhere, and body type has nothing to do with this. The KPop culture is going to have eccentric outfits and in my opinion, they dont miss here 🔥

Correction. Other way around. They didn’t reuse chandelier and tank here. This is an old video and Shut Down was latest mv and they reference all these past mv as they start the chapter. So you’ll see more scenes that you saw in Shut Down as you see their older mv.

You know I thought about new people reacting to shut down and then the older videos... 😂I thought they would figure out ShutDown was a tribute to older MV's.

It was actually two different tanks for each video. "Shut Down" video uses references from "DDU-DU DDU-DU", "Playing with Fire", "Kill This Love", "Boombayah" and "Whistle." So in a sense the video was meant to shut down all of the doubter and haters of their music since the last line of the song says, "Keep talking we shut you down." That is why "Shut Down" was an expensive video to make since they rarely use greenscreen and everything in "Shut Down" had to be recreated.
Some people thought that this might have been their farewell song since YG is debuting BABYMONS7ER. When BLACKPINK debut, YG disbanded 2NE1 when they were popular at the time.I would say that "DDU-DU DDU-DU" is where the western market took notice of BLACKPINK and catapoled them to the mega group that they are now. Weird to say mega group when there is only four of them but the four is all you need.

Loved this reaction! I enjoyed all your opinions about blackpink as their fan. I liked that you pointed out that the street style clothes section were supposed to go along with the background of their set and I agree that they always try to let all the girls shine with their own outfits individually.
One of the things about their styles in their music videos, is that it has evolved so much from 2018. Blackpink works with a lot of stylists, both Korean and Western. Ddu-du-ddu-du was with a korean stylist so they like to play with a lot of patterns and mix it together which was a trend at that time. They are definitely the most fashion-known in the kpop scene, I would say, and have done a lot of global campaigns for lux brand houses. The music videos they release now have more of a mature styling as opposed to the "young" styling they have here. Its awesome to see a music video from 2018, still kill it with the style even if some of the outfits don't translate in 2023 fashion.
All in all, really enjoyed the reaction so much that I've subscribed!! Wish you had noticed the gun scene where they hold the phones up as guns towards Jisoo. Its one of my favourite scenes that have come out of a music video because its both visually pleasing but also very deep in its meaning. Please do more blackpink if you can, like typa girl live at coachella on their channel. Its a very fun performance and I think is filmed very well for a live performance. :)

Y'all got the right idea of the music video but y'all got backwards. Shutdown was reusing visuals from this video and other past videos.

To the girl, fashion is subjective! You have every right to not like their outfits, but millions of others would love it. I like the very outfit you don't like, and actually didn't like the white outfit with the printed face lol. It looks too basic for me...like a real estate agent in Beverly hills would wear something like that to dinner imo and while it's not bleh it's def not something I would wear. I was a Pasadena Art Center and FIDM student in LA and I like statement and unique pieces.
And none of these girls would ever wear fast fashion. They are all ambassadors for Chanel, YSL, Celine, Dior, Tiffany and Co, Calvin Klein, blvgari etc and their oufits in every video are all designers and most often custon made for them.
