      Thanks Marty I really appreciate the kind words! Yeah it’s a good sounding sub! Nothing to loud but sounds just right! Let me know what you decide to go with! Be safe out here!

    seems like a clean looking & sounding set up for my sons first vehicle. nothing too loud and won't rattle his truck to death. Thanks

      No problem at all! Yes, nothing to loud but nice and clear with a good bit of bass but nothing that will wake the neighbors. lol

    I like the new intro. I was thinking of installing a subwoofer in my Supra.

      Thanks Nate! Yeah I needed to keep it short and simple! 😀 but yeah check out the kicker hideaway 10” sub. They have a 8” sub too but I would say go with the 10” because it’s a newer upgraded model. It’s sold out on crutchfield but I think it’s in stock at other online stores. It can fit under the seat more than likely.

      Thanks Abel! If you have the same setup, just adjust the gains until you slightly hear distortion. Then just adjust accordingly. Every vehicle may sound different because of the head units involved. I just found out that Toyota abs Ford have head units that cause a slight distortion so it’s been bothering me in my tweeters. I went back to factory tweeters and it sounds great!

    Do you feel the thump from the sub? Thinking of getting this or the kicker downfiring subs for my f150. Don't want crazy loud shit, but Wana feel some bass for those special songs!

    • @LeBoosLeisure

      Just a few things to keep in mind. I had the sub in a Tacoma which had a small cabin. It’s a mid size truck. To me, I could feel the bass and enjoyed it. In a larger truck cabin, I would think it would sound good but not sure if it would sound louder or not due to the larger cabin. Overall I think it’s a good sub! I would go to crutchfield and read the reviews in detail about this sub. I’m sure there are others who have it in their F150 and they can share how it sounds z for the price and ease of setup, I’d still say go for it!

    Hey dude
    I’m wondering which route you went with connecting the signal to the kicker amp..?
    Through speakers or remote via head unit..
    Thanks

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The kicker amp went directly into the head unit.

    Thanks for taking time to do this video. Does the sub sound distorted being kicker? I am looking to add something to my F150. I can always put something under the back seat but to do it right, I need to raise the seat and custom build a box...blah blah blah.. I don't want something that shakes the neighbor's windows and I understand this won't, but I do like hard hitting base. I listen to a lot of Reggae and a classic rock. If I added two of these do you think it would make a difference from just the one? Thanks again.

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mike! Yes the 10 inch kicker hideaway is just what you need! It’s just enough for me without waking the neighbors. Two would be even better. Now you can connect a mini amp to the sub and make it louder but it sounds good stock! If you had one under each seat it would sound really good!

      @@LeBoosLeisure thanks for replying. I'm going to look at this a bit more serious then. I keep going back and forth on what I want but the ease of installing these is real appealing. My truck has factory sub wiring already ran but just needs to be activated through the radio, which I can do, so installation should be easy. I found the 8s at a local place but not the 10 yet.

      @@LeBoosLeisure you need to do a little research before you start giving out advice.
      A) You cannot use an external amplifier with this unit. You gets what you gets out of it.
      B) For the $720 or whatever that it would cost for two of these units (plus installation), you can get a quality sub/box/amp setup to get the output you're looking for if one isn't enough.
      C) Look up what max power vs RMS power is. Max power is essentially a useless number. RMS is the only thing that matters.

  • @dentReviews

    can you play a frequency generator app on your phone through the sub only (turn down radio, turn up sub gain) and see how low it reliably produces sound? I'm trying to get my speakers to play lower to sub bass but the sub i just got doesn't go below 60-70hz so doesn't do much.. I'm hoping this one goes lower

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm 🤔 I don’t think so but I’ll have to check into that. I haven’t seen that the sub is capable of that.

    • @gokblok
      @gokblok 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He doesn't know what any of that means. The answer, though, is no. If you're looking for really low-end output, you're going to want a sub/amp/box made for that. This thing is not only designed for lower output, but it rolls off toward the lower end of frequency range.

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will work and pretty simple but if you don’t feel comfortable installing it, most shops will charge between $50-$100 to install a sub like that. I had mine in the back on the drivers side.

    I’m trying to figure out if you can connect the RD400 to a 10” woofer. Please help lol

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you could. I’m not sure why you couldn’t if it’s a stand alone woofer like the kicker 10” woofer I talked about in the video. I would call your local audio shop and ask a tech but I don’t see why that couldn’t happen.

    i just bought mine and it comes in next week , i have double cab tacoma and was wondering if i should install under driver seat or stick it behind the back seats? i enjoy the feel of bass so i don’t imagine it would bother me much

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say either one would be fine. I had an amp under my front seat and most ppl I know that get these and put them on a Tacoma, put them in the back like I did. Wouldn’t hurt either way! I think you will like how it sounds!

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does have decent bass especially because the cabin isn’t that big so you will hear and feel it but it’s not going to rattle your truck or anything but it’s good clean bass. I think it’s worth it. I had mine installed behind the passenger seat on the drivers side in the back.

    • @RobHTech
      @RobHTech 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LeBoo's Leisure ya i just listened. Even without a special mic to record, I can hear the sound produced is clearly better than any Kickers.
      I see ppl all the time say , oh sounds like garbage because i recorded on my phone mic. Like come man. I can hear mechanical
      Distortion on any mic.
      They sound pretty good. Im stuck at what components to buy. Stuck between 2 and 4 Ohm components like CDT speakers so i would need a bigger amp.
      I also am not looking to get crazy loud. I listen to mostly techno so the speakers need tk be able to handle extreme changes in sound at very high rates. Infinity speakers blow 100% of the time.
      But i also will be adding 4 midranges or 2 mids and 2 tweets in a configuration to have 12 surround sound speakers plus down firing sealed sub(s) in trunk.

    • @LeBoosLeisure
      @LeBoosLeisure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      RobHTech oh wow you are about to create a powerhouse! Well we know kickers isn’t the way to go. My shop sells every brand and recommended three. Focal, JL audio or the alpine r series. He said the alpine are still expensive at $300 but they are cheaper than the other two brands and can compete with the JL audio speakers. I took his advice and I’m impressed so far! I had focal in the past and they were really expensive but they sounded awesome!!!!!!!!!!
