What Bob is saying around 20 mins is correct and applies to all films and programs. The people who really put many hours into the project normally come up in the credits and towards the end where actors who have the leading part in a sense, don't have a demanding time the way a computer graphics designer has who spends hundreds of hours at work. Bless you Bob.

I thought it was funny how Bob really admired and spoke well of Ben Stahl, because the man seemed to have a good deal of contempt for Bob and his way of painting, at least in the episode he appeared in. He said that you should never do things the easy way, that you should always do it the traditional way, that you shouldn’t make things vague, but should make it all incredibly detailed and personal, even individual leaves. Basically, the opposite of Bob’s style. He was saying, essentially, that if you’re going to paint the way Bob paints and teaches, you’re doing it wrong and it’s just not worth doing. Yet Bob still thought the guy was amazing! He may have been a good painter, but he didn’t seem to respect Bob back at all!
Stahl, was he the one who "invented" wet on wet? Because that guy is a hater. The instant he new that Bob was becoming way more successful than he ever was he started whining.
@@jeffjeannette9364 no no. That was Bill Alexander, who actually taught Bob. And who Bob acknowledged, back in the first season, that he was doing the same technique Bill had done on television for many years.
Ben Stahl was more of a traditional painter. Was even on an episode (S7E5, if you’re curious). Definitely a good artist, who Bob clearly admired, but who seemed to have no respect for Bob and his technique in return.
Artists by and large are egotistical pompous assholes. That’s why art galleries are usually patronized by snooty pseudo-intellectual types. Ross was an exception to the rule.
I think he must have a great smile in heaven as he looks down on his videos! And just smiling to see how much people he still helps❤

His words about Ben Stahl moved me to tears. Stahl was never very fond of Bob's paintings and he was not very nice to him. Bit Bob was a great and honored man and paid Stahl an amazing tribute. I wish they are friends in Heaven.
