I know this may sound silly but I'm a huge fan of the Ninja Turtles, and I'm not really sure if it was done intentionally but the colors associated to each turtle in the animated version correspond to the colors of the Chakras, hence Leonardo, being the leader, bears the color blue, the throat which stands for communication, Donatello wears purple because it's the intellect, the third eye, Michael Angelo wears yellow for the solar plexus and personal freedom, so he's the party dude, and finally Raphael which is the most aggressive and impulsive, so that's red. This is also the reason why I've always had trouble visualizing Raphael as Air, when in my subconscious this other association already exists and you kinda just confirmed it to some extent. Now I know it'd be dumb to change the symbology based on the ninja turtles but to me it's still kind of entertaining to give it some thought.
I love your videos, you are so Authentic. So many videos are just taking advantage of the surge in interest in the occult, dark backgrounds, candles and all things spooky. Im sure there may be a need for those but i feel people on a true path will learn and enjoy your talks far more. Thank you 🙏🏻🌟
Merci, je n'avais jamais entendu parler de la bibliomancie divinatoire. Bien apprécié! Je suis également et totalement en accord avec vous sur ce qui est de trouver la voie la plus authentique pour soi-même.
I'm so greatful for the LBRP thoughts. I'm just learning and have been doing the LBRP for 6 months. Thinking about the changes you spoke of, will suit me better now, rather than doing the Golden Dawn method I've been taught for many years. At any rate, thank you so much for the info.
Bravo listening to your intuition. The knowledge is meant to be studied, the material can be intentionally wrong. The true adept will tease out her mysteries.
What’s funny is it sort of matches tarot, in the sense that the wands are fire (Raphael and his caduceus) , and the sword is air (Michael and his sword)
Foolish Fish, I love your videos, you are my go to for my esoteric magickal da'ath fix. Here is the thing...you have my brain real twisted up with these LRP heresy videos. Now that you appear to have stepped away from the golden dawn technique maybe you could make a video where you teach your new version, but include all the changes rather than links to old videos where you havent connected all the dots quite yet.
I have been personnally using the Merlin by Robert de Boron for over 10 years now from time to time. I usualy think of something along of " What would Merlin have done in this situation " or just "Merlin, give me an advice please". Sometimes the answer is pretty clear other times it is more akin to a parabol type of answee that will sik in and mature but I am always gratefull to the answer. Thank you for posting. Peace.
Well I just applied the Bibliomantic method to ask what element should be in the North, and got "fruit", and for the South I got "spears". So it looks like I'll be returning to Earth in the North and Air in the South after all. Maybe thinking of North as "up" is a mistake. For what it's worth, in the Eastern Daoist tradition, in the Bagua that are depicted around the yin/yang taiji, the sky is south (even though they orient the map with south at the top), and the earth is north. Fire is on the east and Water on the west.
This is what had traditionally always felt comfortable with me With fire and Raphael to the East and Earth as the North I do not mind thinking of it as up, because I associate that with mountains, large chunks of towering earth Compared to where I live down south that is a lot more windy and with flat rolling hills that carry the air
It's a well known classical work. You can find it at any major bookstore. My favorite translation is the one created by Stanley Lombardo because it flows well for the modern reader.
For the LBRP and your progression in changing the golden dawn texts will we one day end up with a grimoire of the foolish fish 😅 nice leather bound book with the intertwined fish
Thanks a lot for this LBRP knowledge i think Your observations are very valuable and may help me save some time i always wanted to do ceremonial stuff But never knew how to start, now your videos and reccomendations on books have been exactly what i was looking for: a bit of guidance :)
Iv done bibliomancy since I was a child w the Bible. Iv performed the LBRP for 10 years and honestly it felt like it worked for a while so thanks. I’ll try this method
Well done im glad i subscribed to your channel. I have had questions you answered. I am taking heed of your advice and i really appreciate what your doing
Earth, water, air, fire seems to make sense with the chakras also. I never really liked the solar plexus as fire (sol sun I get that but it didn't resonate) and air as the heart didn't make much sense either. The system is based on the Vedas so it could have no over lap but solar plexus/diaphram/breath as air and heart/passion/love/hate/fire makes more sense to me. Also in my copy of The Qabalistic Tarot by Robert Wang, he lists wands as Fire in my mind Caduceus is a wand. Moses wand turned into a serpent, the kundalini serpent that eats the two halves of the brain into one. Also serpent, gnosis, knowledge, fire. I am still new to mystic practice and early on I spread myself thin studying every type of mystic tradition to try and mix all the maps into ONE map. Digging many shallow holes. Also an armchair mystic/alchemist not actually taking on practices other than meditation, asana, and pranayama.
Hi Denis, Another very interesting video. Thanks, The symbolic accoutrements of the Archangels are semiotic developments. Try this thought experiment. I think of human evolution and then map: Stone and bone(Paleolithic and Mesolithic), Spear (Neolithic), Sword (Bronze and Iron age) and finally Diplomacy (Holocene). Stone and bone = Artifact production =Pentacle = Earth (Uriel is often depicted carrying a scroll or book) Spear = Wood = Fire (Michael carries a Spear in Catholic iconograthy) Sword = Metallurgy = advanced technologies/intellect = Air (Raphael carries a sword in Catholic iconography) Diplomacy = trade = civilization = peace = Water (Gabriel is the messenger) The beauty of syncretism is that there are no wrong answers. Symbols are a shortcut for language and language is reality. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
Been practicing this for years and it has often told me specifically about things to come or more about the situation I am in...more often than not it includes advice on my current situation
Maybe those personal 'adjustments' required in the GD system are there to encourage people to think and act for themselves? Many people accuse Crowley of providing similar 'blinds' and misinformation in his works, but maybe they seem to serve the same purpose.... I am a classic chaoist myself so nothing is true and everything is permitted as long as it is meaningful and workable to YOU. Blessed be.
I've been doing this before I even knew it was an actual thing! I didn't even know there was a name for it, until a friend told me what it's called :) this is exciting! Thank you for the video 😊
Interesting to me that you follow echols as he is a big inspiration of mine as are you respectively, both of you seem to come with just the right words every time I seek. Pioneering the way for wider access and greater thinking much love and positivity
We do a version of communal bibliomancy in my practice, where everyone prays for a successful session over The Gospel According to Spiritism, and a random member opens it on a random page and it is UNCANNY how relevant the topic on that page is to what ends up being the main issue addressed on that session.
Have you read The Doctrine and Ritual of High Magic? When talking about the Elementary spirits, Eliphas Levi ascribes the Undines to the South, Water Elementals. Salamander (Fire) to the West. Sylphs (Air) to the North. and so on. I have listened to the audiobook a bunch of times so its possible Im misremembering but Im positive of the Order that he ascribed to the Elementary spirits.
I'm glad I found this channel a few weeks ago. I was actually watching Damien Echols videos and then one of your videos appeared in my feed and now I'm following both 😁❤️ and binge watching both 😂
Apologies if you already know this! One of the bibliomancy methods we know was used in the Roman period from at least the time of Hadrian (117-138 CE) was the Virgilian oracle, using the Aeneid, and Hadrian himself was said to have used it; but, that continued through the medieval period, actually, and was one of the only two books that was commonly "approved," so to speak, for use as bibliomancy (the other being the Christian Bible). So, in the future, if you have occasion to do more bibliomancy, don't neglect good ol' Aeneas and his adventures! ;) Also: fair play to you for adjusting the LBRP/&c. to what makes better sense to you! I think there needs to be more of that in magical practice in general. I have never done much with the LBRP, personally, though I have other practices that use pentagrams (and hexagrams!); but, I have somewhat jokingly referred to the LBRP as a quasi-notariqon pseudo-French phrase as the "Le BURP!" So, I thought you might find that amusing! ;)
I have recently found your channel on TH-cam and I find the videos you post fascinating. Thank you 👍I shall be purchasing more books for my collection 😁
Great video! I always forget about bibliomancy this video is a great reminder. I'm working on worldbuilding to write a comic, religious bibles for that world and music that will be published. I go to books when they pop up in my head, get a feeling to find the book and open at random and find what I need. It hasn't occurred to me ask questions (especially when I am stuck for the day on what direction I wanna go or what I wanna focus on.) ... So true about tinkering with systems lol But the journey is fun so it makes it worth it.
It’s funny now that I have fully embraced my spiritual self after awakening, I realize I have channeled spirit all my life and this was one way I did it but wasn’t aware as I was a child in a Christian household and it was all I had at the time. Only until I became a teenager did I find myself exploring other divinations without realizing I had done it all my young juevenile years before I knew what it was called. It did teach me to channel spirit and Jesus very easily and now I am thankful I am able to tune into that high vibrational energies so easily and effortlessly. Made incorporating new methods outside of my Christian upbringing much easier. Well, once I was able to drop the religious dogma that had been pre-programmed into me by society and church. Thankful spirit has led me to my spiritual self all my life without me even realizing what was happening.
Love this. In early practice, it's good to just do as we're told. But using our own meaning-making faculties is a mark of more advanced practice. If we feel that things need to be changed, then changing it can be good. The interior struggle actively charges the correspondences with _our_ Will and energies so they are more apt to obey us rather than whoever's books or resources we've been reading. Well done! 👏👏👏👍⭐
Oh my! I just learned that my education in seminary within the Mormon church taught me this exact method- letting my fingers do the “walking”. I’m astonished! Been taught magick my whole life. What else have I learned through church? 🤔
I’m getting into the occult now after being an active church member for many years and it has been incredibly interesting to look back and see how much magick is interwoven into the LDS church. Almost makes me wish I could go back to the temple and practice in my own manner.
Dennis I've been testing the attributions from the previous iteration that we discussed (R - N, M -E, U - S, G - W) and have been experiencing good results, so after this video I reached for my trusty Rider-Waite Tarot and asked the question. For Michael I flipped the Queen of Wands, and for Raphael I flipped the Page of Swords. With the way I attribute the elements to the Tarot suites, that's about as clear cut an answer as I'm likely to get! So yes, I'm going to stick with the aforementioned LBRP until further notice.
That's amazing! Thank you for sharing! I'm more and more drawn to the conclusion that the objective directions used are not as important as the subjective directions used. In other words, since we''re talking about maps rather than objective reality, what's really important is to pick a map and draw out your ritual on that map, as intended for your higher selves/parts of your self/unconscious mind/subtle entities (whichever version one subscribes to) who can then work out what is intended and how to interpret it into action in turn. What map we pick is important, because it needs to be reasonably intuitive for us to be able to work with it / through it, but it's not important that we all use the same map. Does that ring true? Or possible at least?
@@FoolishFishBooks It was pretty crazy, I was expecting to pull two vague Major Arcana or misaligned court cards, but those two cards were quite definitive for me! Yes your comments absolutely ring true. Maps have to match the individual, and will be quite varied depending on culture, age, background, proclivities etc. For instance, I think that many with an atheistic background (or anyone 'hostile' to Christianity) would have difficulty with the invocations from the Heptameron. I know personally I struggle with some of the heavier Christian stuff (calling on Jesus etc.) as I find that the 'suspension of disbelief' just can't be maintained (for want of a better expression). I suspect this might be the logic behind Damian Echols reworking of the LBRP with Sumerian deities?
@@MrGunwitch That makes very good sense. I heard him say in an interview that woking with Christian tropes didn't come easily to him, especially that the people who were, in his words, "trying to kill" him (speech marks certainly not to cast shade but rather to emphasise the horror of his situation) professed to come from that tradition. An adaptation of the ritual to the Sumerian model would probably make a huge difference to him, and no doubt to many others with a "spoilt" (there's a euphemism!) experience of what Christianity is vs. should be.
There’s one thing that hasn’t been mentioned in these videos that has an influence on the order of the colors/elements. When I learned the LBRP, I learned to associate the four archangels and the four elements with the four seasons. So, Rafael in the East would be yellow, the color of sunrise and air (as the sun rises in the East), and I would picture Rafael in a spring glade with lots of flowers. Then Michael, as Red/summer/fire, would be pictured maybe in a hot summer desert… and so on. I suppose you could think of red as spring (things bursting forth, etc) and yellow as summer (the color of the sun). But to me, it doesn’t work as well. It makes more sense for fire to be the color of summer, for obvious reasons. And I really like this additional thing with the LBRP, as I feel the elements/colors/and the cycle of natural death and rebirth becoming one inside of me.
Another quick note: In a later video you suggest Michael’s color to be silver or a sort of shimmery “no color.” This, to me, doesn’t feel summery at all.
As synchronous as your recent discoveries are for you.... it may please you to know that unexpected tidbits in your videos like this one are synchronous for me (and i hope others). Many thanks, and may the angel speed those sails along your path.
Regarding the Lbpr there is also an issue of needing to change the correspondences when one lives in the Southern Hemisphere. Any suggestions greatfully received & pondered.
One of my personal favorite things about the symbol of the Rod of Asclepius is that it reminds me of the story in the Hebrew Bible where everyone is being bitten and poisoned by snakes, and G_D tells Moses to raise up a staff with a bronze serpent on it. This reminds me a.) of the rod of asclepius b.) of Jesus referring to himself as that snake held up on a stick when talking about his crucifixion (gnostics envision Christ as the serpent who gives Eve the fruit of Knowledge, or Gnosis) and c.) of the law of signatures: like cures like. in the case of snake venom in reality, snake venom is how we make antivenom, like cures like. very densely layered symbol and i like it a lot Keep it up with the LBRP Shenanigans as you call them, I'm a beginner and I find that this is much more intuitive in many ways than certain traditional methods. You questioning the 'traditional' LBRP reminds me of how Jesus told his disciples that they must become like children to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Kids never ever *ever* stop asking 'why?' and that inquisitive investigative nature shines through in these videos ^_^
Interesting, your video was recommended to me without searching for similar content. In the ancient Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism as the west knows it) epic Ramayana, there is usually a page at the end that has a little yantra (a table with random letters). Legend has it that if you have a question, randomly placing your finger on the letters, adding 9 to it until it reveals a sentence gives the answer. All possible verses thus revealed are translated at the end that explains the possible answer. Edit: *to me
On the Tarot, we associate wands with fire and sword with air. Stephen Skinner in his book, Techniques of High Magic, claims that the Golden Dawn intentionally reversed this order. Originality, Wands was air and swords was fire.
This matches with the Tarot suits, the difference between the LBRP and the Tarot has confused many people. In Tarot, Wands = Fire and Swords = Air. Although, in that case, shouldn't Uriel be holding a Pentacle? Also, in your system then, would Michael be wearing yellow and purple and Raphael, Red and Green?
In my 'system' Raphael wears flames ('hot' colours from yellow to red), and Michael wears reflective armour of chrome and glass (absence of colour). Gabriel wears 'cold' colours green, turquoise, blue, and Uriel wears brown (all the colours). As you see, I've moved away from the GD way in this respect also, but I know that they attribute yellow to air, so that I'm not confused about what they are talking about whenever they mention the colour.
I hope everyone is careful at what they’re pulling into this reality...it’s seeming they’re not when looking at the state of it all...this is troubling to me
(My path, my experience, here's a perspective may it serve you well.) My favorite ninja turtle is Raphael, always has been. My name was supposed to be Raphael according to my mother, was supposed to be my name. My name sadly isn't but it's be cool since my favorite color is red. My birthday is April 25 and I live in a warmer climate so hawks and birds are a common sight. I've sworn hawks and red cardinals have always been in sight when I'm on a long journey from 45 minutes and more. So it could be coincidence, but I've only ever seen them when I've thought of them as well. Even more when I'm sitting outside and I'm in deep thought about the birds, nature, or seeing the birds.
Great video! At first I was wondering about Michael being a Wind spirit due to his well known protective/aggressive nature, I and most people associate that with fire (like the Golden Dawn did) but I remember reading an excerpt that I can't for the life of me find again (sorry) from a 16th or 17th century European witch-hunting journal detailing how Wind demons were the most dangerous due to their natural abilities combined with the wind's ability to affect water and fire. In my personal gnosis that was kind of a big realization because while as far from a "demon" as you can get Michael does seem like a powerful wind spirit by that definition.
That's very interesting. Yes, I've been reading about air demons too. Still a little nebulous for me though, (no pun intended!), but definitely interesting!
Hello! Awesome video! you got a new subscriber... just a cuestion, how has it felt to have this last arrangement in your practice? Also... could you please tell me the coulors and objects and everything related to how you visialize them?
Adding entities certainly complicates things 😄 The Judeo-Christian angels are used by the GD, but I know some people like to swap them out for their own preferred deities. Maybe that's something else I need to look into... Even just considering a different angel for Earth... Sandalphon? Maybe.
This is fantastic, now that you explain it, it does make sense. Although, what benefit do you think this shuffling would bring to the LBRP? There is a definite shift of consciousness/feeling post the traditional LBRP, would that mean it works regardless of the attribution of the elements to the angels? I wonder if this new information would somehow make me doubt my practice and render it less effective :P. Also, that book on the Illiad just screams Martian energy.
I _think_ next Saturday's video is going to be about personalised practice Vs off-the shelf package systems. It's certainly an important consideration... For me, the new way has engaged me in my practice, rather than just be 'a thing I'm supposed to do', because it feels more congruent with what I feel is really there. It's a map after all.
@@FoolishFishBooks Thanks, sometimes I wonder about where standard practice ends and personalization begins, or if there even is a line between them. The more I delve into this, the more chaos magick seems to make sense. Like the Alchemist's Prima Materia, it sort of turns into whatever you want it to be, based on what you want out of it. One explanation of the effectiveness of certain standard rituals could be that what has been repeated in the collective subconscious for quite some time forms a current or channel which "imprints" a certain result. If you tap into that current by doing the ritual yourself with the intention of getting the same result, it is far easier to attain than conjuring new ones by yourself.
@@rahulnair7714 Yes, this is sensible, and corresponds effortlessly to all other sensible theories I can think of. You know my penchant for Chaos Magick ;p
@Hayes Devaney Purists would say that you should stick to the traditional style but I think you should try it the way you think is right and feel the difference for yourself. Ultimately its your connection to the divine that matters :)
Check out my comment (pinned to the top) I now have all the angels in the same direction as the GD suggests, only I have Raphael representing Fire now, not Air. I've been working this way for a couple of months and it's amazing how comfortable it feels, especially when attributing: - vivid "wet" warm colours (yellow to red) to fire - vivid "wet" cold colours (blue, indigo green) to water, - an absence of colour (transparent and/or reflective like glass or polished metal) to air, - a mix of all the colours (brown, beige, khaki, ochre) to Earth. But since the angels' positions stay put, the names of God do also.
It doesn’t seem ridiculous to have the healing angel associated with fire… But now you got me doing research, too. Mikael means “Who is like El?”. Traditionally, His return is from the East with sword in mouth. Gabriel comes from GBR meaning Man. As you pointed out, water = man. Man of God. To me lots of things makes sense to denote Michael in the East but have him be Air. As the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, it’s like Michael is in the position of separating the waters (men). Thus we also maintain fire in the north in polarity with the earth. But… since you got me researching, too… I ran into this issue where it turns out that Uriel actually means flame of God in Hebrew…
I have Ur as light (also flame, you're right). Now if Air is to the East (I explained why I rejected this in my video 'More LBRP Controversy' two weeks ago), then we must have Earth in the West, as its counterpart (Air is wet hot, Earth is dry cold). This could technically work to agree with the Rosy Cross that has air at the top, and earth at the bottom, but as we know, churches (laid out as a cross) have the alter (the 'top') towards the East... Maybe, maybe...
@@FoolishFishBooks Paradigms paradigms lol. What's confusing to me right now is the names of the angels not matching with the elements (not that they need to, who am I to discern that haha). But if the meaning of the names ought to correspond, then I sorted out: Mikael the one with sword (air) in the East; Uriel (fire) in the South; Raphael the healer (stuck with earth by necessity) in the west; and Gabriel the man of God (water) in the North.... My main interest in discerning these different paradigms is my personal journey of discerning ideologies behind judeo-christian and other systems of divinity.
The sunrise is from east so I was wondering if it means east is fire element and the Archangel on the east would be associated with the Sun! So the regular archangels arrangements are right originally but the elements fire east and air south! I think North has to be earth since its the last pentagram! Just to represent going back to earth or origin?
Regarding the elements/angels/weapons, wouldn't a sheated sword serve as a makeshift rod, and aren't spears (very rod-like, yet bladed) mentioned as symbolically equivalent to staves somewhere in Crwoley's Book of Thoth in one of the card descriptions (one of the fire/wand ones, I think)? At least that how I try to reconcile the different associations between elements and weapons used in tarot and classic LBRP, although I don't feel like I'm deep enough into the subject to feel all that bound to either. Maybe this fluidity is integral to these systems - brings to mind that saying about changing what you can't accept, accepting what can't change, and being wise enough to know the difference... a bit of a dance between will and intellect...
I'm finding it interesting that masculine air and fire are so fidgety, so interchangable, wood-fuled flames are red _and_ yellow, and of course air is colour-less. Meanwhile, the feminine water is stable in the West, no matter what the other permissions, and hermaphroditic Earth is happy to move to make way for the 'turbulent two' if necessary...
when visualizing the Archangels i tend to lean toward the visual of the kings from the rider waite tarot, as they are images burnt into my mind and available at a moments notice..is this demeaning or disrespectful to the egregoric kaballistic representation of the AA? i suppose that if you can change the cardinal direction for each than a visualization is open to some individual interpretation
I was too superstitious to buy my own tarot deck when I was young. Not only that, I thought that asking for one was cheating 😑 my idiocy aside, it meant that I had to rely on a pocket dictionary I had, for what I now know is Bibliomancy.
When speaking about the 4 Primary Archangels and their sovereignty, in the later part of this video. You mentioned that Michael is associated with the Element of fire: "canonized" by popular belief. However, I would like to add on that all is correct, as what I've learned from another esoteric adept; is that the offices of the Archangels can change. For instance: in the (Golden Dawn's) LBRP -- it puts Michael in the South with the element of fire that is associated with him; but, as stated in the later part (of this video), Michael's governance is North with Sovereignty over the Element of Air. Furthermore, this indicated co-sovereignty in each direction of the elements that are associated with the Archangels. Therefore, noting the Golden Dawn's version of the LBRP is not "wrong". But, with deeper research, it shows there is an initial Angelic proprietor and element of a particular direction.
I use a dream dictionary to tell me the meaning of things that I feel are messages. Like if I find a black feather or some strange coincidence happens.
Very interesting tecnic we Persians do this bibliomancy with a poem book called hafez I don't know your familiar with hafez but he was a wise man that memories the Quran when he was very young also the word hafez means memorising Even our famous Wolfgang von Goethe wan his fan 😅
Isn't the issue with books the fact that results will generally tend toward the central pages and tend to entirely leave out the ones near the beginning or end? I get the impression a digital medium would be less subject to such issues - for example, the Random button on Wikipedia, for a vast variety of possible results. Wikimancy!
Something about letting a computer algorithm do the divination doesn't quite sit right with me. It feels less organic and if there are forces trying to hinder they may be more successful with something you can't control physically. I'm not an expert and this is just speculation based off personal experience.
2 questions: 1. Does this new element association mean any change in the Holy Words assocuated with the particular angels? (I don't see why you would...) 2. If you swap Michael and Auriel again in this new setup you get the Golden Dawn ritual with Fire-Air-Water-Earth. So perhaps it was the case that the original GD setup has 2 layers of meaning depending on one's angel-elemental associations? Addendum: in fm, the Scottish rite has Earth-Air-Water-Fire, the French rite has Earth-Water-Air-Fire.
Oh! I didn't know that about the Scottish/French difference! Thank you, that's very interesting! Regarding question 1. I've been struggling with that. In fact I just took a break from researching why those names of God are used - direction? Element? Angel? And haven't yet found an answer. I've been using the names associated with the given element in the new direction so far, with no ill-effect. Still, I like to know why I'm doing what I'm doing, so the research will continue. Question 2. Yes, you'd be back at the original direction of the angels, with only the elements swapped. But I really like air in the North. It feels good to me. Doesn't make it objectively 'right' of course... But it's the kind of right I'm finally satisfied with 😄
I've just used the bibliomancy method (using the KJV Bible this time) to determine what element is in the north and got "fruit" and in the south I got "spears". So my thinking of North as "Up" was wrong. Looks like I'm going to have to make a public mea culpa...
Hello im a pagan looking to get into ceremonial magic, and I was wondering if you could recommend any readings or if the grimoires you have reviewed and read up to this point would prove to be of any use to someone like my self. Thank your time and I very much enjoy your content.
Hey! great question! I think John Michael Greer's latest books on modern Druidic paths could be an ideal stepping stone for you. He is a master of ceremonial Magic, and also a retired Arch-Druid. I have a review of his "Dolmen Arch" on my channel, and I know there are a few more he's written.
It does make more sense for me that the archangel of fire would be associated with medicine, as fire can be seen as a purifying agent, easier to correlate to medicine than air is to me.
@@FoolishFishBooks I realised something as well while doing an L.B.R.P., that the sun (a big ball of fire) rises in the EAST. It seemed so simplistic yet obvious.
With these exact topics and this approach? He's the only other active one I know of. There are, of course, millions of new-age channels on one side of the spectral circle, and conspiracy theory channels on another, and pseudo-science channels on yet another, but I'd like to think this is in a different corner to all that altogether... Maybe I'm delusional :D The Glitch Bottle podcast has incredible interviews with well-respected occultists which the host re-posts to TH-cam, I think that's where you'll get the best value for time spent, also Rune Soup has it's moments, and Occult of Personality has some excellent interviews too, if you can put up with the "dark fluff edge-lord" posing... Many people like that, so I can understand where it comes from. Oh, wait, speaking of dark fluff edge-lords, there's that "become a living god" guy (lightning and upside-down pentagrams... woooh!) who gives me the feeling of cheap plastic and supermarket perfume whenever I see him (or his books) - can't remember his name just now, but he's very active and very popular. I'm being super mean, but actually, if he's bringing people to a place of interest, I'm all for it :)
Yes, you articulated very well, it’s a fine line and that’s why is difficult for me to find information sources that don’t feel plastic like. Thank you again!
I'll have to give this bibliomancy a try. I suppose this suggests that the particular entity or spirit can instantly read and remember an entire book. Does this work better with a book you have already read?
No, actually. As another viewer suggested, you could just as easily use random search on Wikipedia. I've used TV channel hopping and randomly unmuting for a few seconds. Works eerily well.
After watching this video, my brother asked me for a copy of The Communist Manifesto, and then immediately returned it. I believe this is a sign. What is this book getting me into... lol
I’m new to LBRP and I’m triggered by the consideration that water and fire/earth and air are the compatible elements 😭 because in astrology it’s earth with water, fire with air

Divination came so naturally to me as a child. I was never taught how to do it, I just did it.
I used a dictionary for years for this purpose, thinking I had made it up. Hmmmm...maybe I was a member of the Golden Dawn in a former life 😁
I just tried this with a random book I pulled from my bookshelf. I opened up to a paragraph referencing the angels Gabriel & Raphael.
:D it's astonishing, isn't it? :D
The cadeucius is also a symbol of fire. It represents the inner fire kundalini, rising up from the spine to explode at the base of the head.
Fantastic video thank you. I've never tried bibliomancy, but may well give it a go after watching this 🙏
In the basic ritual of giving in Bertiaux’s Gnostic Workbook, it begins in the North. Pretty much the bread and butter ritual for that system.
What’s funny is it sort of matches tarot, in the sense that the wands are fire (Raphael and his caduceus) , and the sword is air (Michael and his sword)
I Love how Divination is so sharp sometimes to the point that makes we feel: You already know the answer.
One could divinate with almost anything...its all about being able to read between the lines.
Divinate: the word does not exist. Are you consorting with demons?
@@AtticusStount haha....ummm no consorting here. Not that im aware of...
Exactly, its the recognition of patterns in relationship to our consciousness that tells the story. Anything can be used to examine patterns.
These informative videos provide so much confirmation for me
Thank you
🙏

Well, magnetic north has been moving quite a bit in recent times....
For what it's worth, in the Eastern Daoist tradition, in the Bagua that are depicted around the yin/yang taiji, the sky is south (even though they orient the map with south at the top), and the earth is north. Fire is on the east and Water on the west.
This is what had traditionally always felt comfortable with me
With fire and Raphael to the East and Earth as the North
I do not mind thinking of it as up, because I associate that with mountains, large chunks of towering earth
Compared to where I live down south that is a lot more windy and with flat rolling hills that carry the air
Very enjoyable, yes. Where do I get that book, The Iliad?
It's a well known classical work. You can find it at any major bookstore. My favorite translation is the one created by Stanley Lombardo because it flows well for the modern reader.
From what am seeing is that we can use our own personal experience to make decisions
I think of human evolution and then map:
Stone and bone(Paleolithic and Mesolithic),
Spear (Neolithic),
Sword (Bronze and Iron age)
and finally Diplomacy (Holocene).
Stone and bone = Artifact production =Pentacle = Earth (Uriel is often depicted carrying a scroll or book)
Spear = Wood = Fire (Michael carries a Spear in Catholic iconograthy)
Sword = Metallurgy = advanced technologies/intellect = Air (Raphael carries a sword in Catholic iconography)
Diplomacy = trade = civilization = peace = Water (Gabriel is the messenger)
The beauty of syncretism is that there are no wrong answers. Symbols are a shortcut for language and language is reality.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
Raphael, the caduceus & fire all fit together beautifully if you think of the caduceus’ association with kundalini & its healing properties.
Been practicing this for years and it has often told me specifically about things to come or more about the situation I am in...more often than not it includes advice on my current situation
I love your interpretations of LBRP, I actually started doing it starting with Michael
Blessed be.
I have made this discovery as well! I am glad that I am not the only one that thinks it is this way. :)
😊👍 Thank you, @Luna for your kind words! I'm so glad you're finding value in what I'm doing! 😊
We do a version of communal bibliomancy in my practice, where everyone prays for a successful session over The Gospel According to Spiritism, and a random member opens it on a random page and it is UNCANNY how relevant the topic on that page is to what ends up being the main issue addressed on that session.
enjoyable and enlightening. Thank you so much.
Thanks very much for your teachings it is very cool
I love this so much, magick in practice. I'll try your method out. This makes a lot of sense.
I have been struggling with the same and you are answering it step by step, magick😱
Oh, hey, I'm so glad this is turning out to be helpful 😁👍 best wishes to you!
I'm glad I found this channel a few weeks ago. I was actually watching Damien Echols videos and then one of your videos appeared in my feed and now I'm following both 😁❤️ and binge watching both 😂
😄👍 I'm very glad you found my channel too, Louise! Best wishes to you!
So, in the future, if you have occasion to do more bibliomancy, don't neglect good ol' Aeneas and his adventures! ;)
Also: fair play to you for adjusting the LBRP/&c. to what makes better sense to you! I think there needs to be more of that in magical practice in general. I have never done much with the LBRP, personally, though I have other practices that use pentagrams (and hexagrams!); but, I have somewhat jokingly referred to the LBRP as a quasi-notariqon pseudo-French phrase as the "Le BURP!" So, I thought you might find that amusing! ;)
I didn't know this. Very cool! Thank you for sharing!
.. nice video.. no ego.. I will watch more of your videos.. thank you :)
I have recently found your channel on TH-cam and I find the videos you post fascinating. Thank you 👍I shall be purchasing more books for my collection 😁
Welcome, @Yes ItsMe - I'm so glad you're enjoying the content! 😊👍 Thank you for the kind words!
Great video! I always forget about bibliomancy this video is a great reminder.
I'm working on worldbuilding to write a comic, religious bibles for that world and music that will be published. I go to books when they pop up in my head, get a feeling to find the book and open at random and find what I need. It hasn't occurred to me ask questions (especially when I am stuck for the day on what direction I wanna go or what I wanna focus on.)
...
So true about tinkering with systems lol But the journey is fun so it makes it worth it.
This is great! Very exciting project 😊 good luck and keep us updated! 👍
Well... magic underwear! It’s even called magic ;)
Personally, I’d love to try the stuff
Joseph smith was a Freemason. He used divination.
The Mormon church is steeped in western occultism almost as much as the Catholics.
It's amazing what you can learn in church. The "New Thought" churches are pretty open about it.
I’m getting into the occult now after being an active church member for many years and it has been incredibly interesting to look back and see how much magick is interwoven into the LDS church. Almost makes me wish I could go back to the temple and practice in my own manner.
Thank you Great vid!!!!!!!!
An adaptation of the ritual to the Sumerian model would probably make a huge difference to him, and no doubt to many others with a "spoilt" (there's a euphemism!) experience of what Christianity is vs. should be.
Great great video❤️
Hmm, I was quite sure I'd mentioned the seasons somewhere 🙏
As synchronous as your recent discoveries are for you.... it may please you to know that unexpected tidbits in your videos like this one are synchronous for me (and i hope others). Many thanks, and may the angel speed those sails along your path.
Regarding the Lbpr there is also an issue of needing to change the correspondences when one lives in the Southern Hemisphere. Any suggestions greatfully received & pondered.
Awesome 😎 thanks brother 🙏
GOM switches things too....thank you for relaying Demians' message
One of my personal favorite things about the symbol of the Rod of Asclepius is that it reminds me of the story in the Hebrew Bible where everyone is being bitten and poisoned by snakes, and G_D tells Moses to raise up a staff with a bronze serpent on it. This reminds me a.) of the rod of asclepius b.) of Jesus referring to himself as that snake held up on a stick when talking about his crucifixion (gnostics envision Christ as the serpent who gives Eve the fruit of Knowledge, or Gnosis) and c.) of the law of signatures: like cures like. in the case of snake venom in reality, snake venom is how we make antivenom, like cures like. very densely layered symbol and i like it a lot
Keep it up with the LBRP Shenanigans as you call them, I'm a beginner and I find that this is much more intuitive in many ways than certain traditional methods. You questioning the 'traditional' LBRP reminds me of how Jesus told his disciples that they must become like children to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Kids never ever *ever* stop asking 'why?' and that inquisitive investigative nature shines through in these videos ^_^
All I can say is Wow
i am SO glad that i know what you are talking about....otherwise i'd be in a big TIZZY !!! :))) Thank you
This is amazing 😍
Interesting, your video was recommended to me without searching for similar content. In the ancient Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism as the west knows it) epic Ramayana, there is usually a page at the end that has a little yantra (a table with random letters). Legend has it that if you have a question, randomly placing your finger on the letters, adding 9 to it until it reveals a sentence gives the answer. All possible verses thus revealed are translated at the end that explains the possible answer.
Edit: *to me
What a beautiful technique! Thank you for sharing!
I intuitively attribute Uriel to Air, Raphael to Water, Gabriel to Earth, and Michael to Fire. Does it make any sense?
I hope everyone is careful at what they’re pulling into this reality...it’s seeming they’re not when looking at the state of it all...this is troubling to me
Love the Ken Wilber on your bookshelf :)
Well spotted 😋👍
Very interesting.
Thumbs up for a fellow fan of the best TMNT.
Did you already read Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist?
Hello! Awesome video! you got a new subscriber... just a cuestion, how has it felt to have this last arrangement in your practice? Also... could you please tell me the coulors and objects and everything related to how you visialize them?
Full tutorial in just 2 days' time 😉👍
I feel like I’m ready to learn this stuff . Thanks foolish fish for sifting through all this programs dogmas and spirit world . I will keep watching.
Do you attribute the name of god to the angel, the direction or the element? so if you switch anything around which one does the name follow?
the elements like this feels right, i haven't ever used specific names for anything, maybe i'll give it a go and see what happens :P
Adding entities certainly complicates things 😄 The Judeo-Christian angels are used by the GD, but I know some people like to swap them out for their own preferred deities. Maybe that's something else I need to look into... Even just considering a different angel for Earth... Sandalphon? Maybe.
Would the aeneid be a good choice for bibliomancy? I know the iliad was used traditionally, but I wondered if this would also be a good option?
I don't see why not!
@@FoolishFishBooks I know, I am currently reading through Condensed chaos :)
@Hayes Devaney Purists would say that you should stick to the traditional style but I think you should try it the way you think is right and feel the difference for yourself. Ultimately its your connection to the divine that matters :)
"I think you already know" hahahahaha
I laughed so hard :D
So with swapping them around which order do you call the names of God following this method with Michael in the North and Raphael in the East?
Check out my comment (pinned to the top)
I now have all the angels in the same direction as the GD suggests, only I have Raphael representing Fire now, not Air.
I've been working this way for a couple of months and it's amazing how comfortable it feels, especially when attributing:
- vivid "wet" warm colours (yellow to red) to fire
- vivid "wet" cold colours (blue, indigo green) to water,
- an absence of colour (transparent and/or reflective like glass or polished metal) to air,
- a mix of all the colours (brown, beige, khaki, ochre) to Earth.
But since the angels' positions stay put, the names of God do also.
@@FoolishFishBooks Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that out for me. I appreciate it a lot.
@@thisguyisweird9901 You're very welcome! :) Thanks for taking an interest :D
I thought it said “Billionaire Magick” lol 😂
when visualizing the Archangels i tend to lean toward the visual of the kings from the rider waite tarot, as they are images burnt into my mind and available at a moments notice..is this demeaning or disrespectful to the egregoric kaballistic representation of the AA? i suppose that if you can change the cardinal direction for each than a visualization is open to some individual interpretation
Why did I "know" this before discovering it? I did it with the odyssey
I use a dream dictionary to tell me the meaning of things that I feel are messages. Like if I find a black feather or some strange coincidence happens.
Very helpful!
Very interesting tecnic we Persians do this bibliomancy with a poem book called hafez
I don't know your familiar with hafez but he was a wise man that memories the Quran when he was very young also the word hafez means memorising
Even our famous Wolfgang von Goethe wan his fan 😅
I know of the Hafez, but I've never had the pleasure of reading it 😄
Isn't the issue with books the fact that results will generally tend toward the central pages and tend to entirely leave out the ones near the beginning or end?
I get the impression a digital medium would be less subject to such issues - for example, the Random button on Wikipedia, for a vast variety of possible results. Wikimancy!
You're quite right. In the age of Wikipedia, "Wikimancy" seems like a great option! :)
Something about letting a computer algorithm do the divination doesn't quite sit right with me. It feels less organic and if there are forces trying to hinder they may be more successful with something you can't control physically. I'm not an expert and this is just speculation based off personal experience.
2 questions:
1. Does this new element association mean any change in the Holy Words assocuated with the particular angels? (I don't see why you would...)
Yes, it feels more intuitive, right?
@@FoolishFishBooks I realised something as well while doing an L.B.R.P., that the sun (a big ball of fire) rises in the EAST. It seemed so simplistic yet obvious.
@@furisado4396 😅 yep, that was my first tip-off that something might be quite right... 👍🌞🔥
Thank you for the video! I was wandering, can you recommand other youtube channels with content similar to yours and Damien Echol’s?
With these exact topics and this approach? He's the only other active one I know of. There are, of course, millions of new-age channels on one side of the spectral circle, and conspiracy theory channels on another, and pseudo-science channels on yet another, but I'd like to think this is in a different corner to all that altogether... Maybe I'm delusional :D
The Glitch Bottle podcast has incredible interviews with well-respected occultists which the host re-posts to TH-cam, I think that's where you'll get the best value for time spent, also Rune Soup has it's moments, and Occult of Personality has some excellent interviews too, if you can put up with the "dark fluff edge-lord" posing...
@@FoolishFishBooks I agree about so few non conspiracy theory new agers available, but do reccomend checking out Esoterica
Which diety or spirit did you ask? Just curious
I'm Christian at heart. I speak to the one Jesus calls 'Father'. 😉
That’s what I was going to ask! I was thinking maybe it was the shade of Homer himself. But thanks for clarifying!
@ceejay3p, you absolute star :D Thank you for being my very first sponsor!
@@FoolishFishBooks oh wow!
I'm honoured 😊
After watching this video, my brother asked me for a copy of The Communist Manifesto, and then immediately returned it. I believe this is a sign. What is this book getting me into... lol
So what would be a good source to really learn the LBRP without blinds? I thought many have said the Golden Dawn LBRP included blinds?
I don't know of any. Most sources are based directly on the GD. That's why I'm doing these videos 😅
Appreciate your vids!! Thanks to you, I’m gonna be broke!! Your reviews make me want to buy damn near every book you cover! 😂
LBRP, more like LARP
Are those Andrew lang fairy books?
Yeah. Just 4 of them... for now! ;)
@@FoolishFishBooks damn that is cool. You should do a video on him. He seems like a pretty interesting guy with the stuff he has authored
I’m new to LBRP and I’m triggered by the consideration that water and fire/earth and air are the compatible elements 😭 because in astrology it’s earth with water, fire with air
Not compatible. Opposite.
Did that with respect to the pandemic at it's beginning. Opened to chapter 9 book of revelations. Have a look. All there.
