How Ukraine Sea Drone With Heat Seeking Missile Works?

As Ukraine’s explosive drone boats began to run down and sink or damage more Russian warships on the Black Sea.
The Russian Fleet fought back from the air, sea and land.
Most Notably the Russian helicopters, such as the Ka-29 Twin Rotor Helicopter and the Mi-8 Navy Transport Helicopter, patrolled the Black Sea Fleet’s surrounding area,
looking for approaching drones and opening fire with rockets and guns, eventually destroying a couple of them.
But in war, every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
So now, the Ukrainian drone boats have started upgrading to fight fire with fire, using the same Russian R-73 Heat-Seeking missiles mounted on top of the drones.

Great work as always but let me point out that the Ukraine flag from the beginning of the video has orange instead of yellow bottom half.
Why using so much of older content when it most often does not even fit into the storyline. The older Videos were much better to watch as they were straight forward and easy to follow. You've done way better before

When the invasion started, I thought Ukraine will fall within 2 weeks. I am really impressed by Ukrainian resilience, holding off the Russians for over 2 years.
Me too!
Therefore, no one is in a hurry with the world - neither the United States, nor Russia, nor Ukraine itself. Ukraine allowed more than 10 million people to leave, several million did not want to return from the territory of Russia. Ukraine is still a financial black hole. When its population decreases to 15 million people, then the West or Russia, who succeeds more, will be able to establish an acceptable standard of living there. Therefore, the game is played for a long time.

@@keryamladhiy Where on Earth do you get your numbers??? Independent sources state that Russia has lost 3 times as many soldiers as Ukraine. This is mostly due to the "meat wave" style attacks Russia uses. I should also mention that 1/3 of the Russian Black Sea fleet has been sunk, including the flagship, while the rest has retreated from the area. Your air force is doing no better with one SU35 fighter being destroyed each day this month. All of Russia's oil refineries are now being attacked. It's arms trade has also died a death as countries see how poorly Russia armaments are doing. The biggest loss though is to good will - I suspect it will be a long time till people will trust or trade with Russia. Is there a particular reason you're not currently fighting for Russia?
Please make a video how ukrainian long range Cesna style air drones work.
Hmm Will take a look
Would be great to see but I think many build details are classified
Look like Ukraine should point the missiles after. The chopper are likely to chase the drones down. If the drones try to initiate the attack on the helicopter, they’ll give away their position.
When i saw this, i was like wtf? This is something that a 7-year-old me would imagine about. I thought that this was a ridiculous idea because I know nothing about these things. But Ukraine actually did it. Mind blown
Except it's useless as there are no hits recorded... Planes move too fast, helicopters attack it from side or rear and this increases drone's radar cross section making it easier to detect...

Excellent news!
Russia need to employee small boats with paddle guns. 3 to4 crew per boat. A gun boat in command with radar and commanding 10 small boats. And multiple groups like this. The same thing that Sri Lankans used in thir civil war.
They need a swivel launch base so the drone boat does not have to manourve into firing position.
They need sort of like a naval wingman drone.
Helicopter goes after one. The wingman can maneuver to take out the other.
At least till they can figure something else out. Looks like they are fixing the kinks as it goes.

They should mount one facing forward and one backward would be a good idea 😎

They should mount one of the missile facing backwards, so the helicopter cannot attack from behind.
No sense, in this case solid fuel engine will damage IR seeker of other missile.
@@four-dimensionalpersonput them on a turning mount then
exactly, a better idea would be to put an American AIM-9M on a launcher that can turn up and down 360 degrees. While firing a missile at a target above the drone would damage the drone, it would be a one-way mission anyway so that wouldn’t be that big of a problem, especially if they managed to shoot down a helicopter.
@@Rheinmetall2025 turning mounts are heavy, even at it lightest configuration it a lot of space and weight required. That would shift the centre of gravity and complicate it production. Sometimes simple is best.

"Ukrainian" seadrones with heatseaker missiles :D
A joke almost as good as Houthi's hypersonic rocket.
Given that the heli's like chsing the drone, it would make sense to mount the missiles on swivelling mount, or more simples, just point one missile forward and one aft.
It’s easier to use two anti-aircraft missile drones at a distance of 300 m from each other to cover blind spots.
Ukraine conduct Sea operations in broad daylight, strapping rocket launchers to a sea drone! Thats a little far fetched! I did enjoy the cgi, top notch work! 😊
please make a video how a umpk glide kit work, or a baba yaga drone vid
Russia is paper tiger👍🤡
The first time I saw footage of the missile-equipped sea drones being attacked by helicopters, I noted that both missiles were pointed forward and wondered why. It was foreseeable that they'd be pursued and I thought it would have been a better design to have pointed one of the missiles aft. I'm guessing after this, future versions will do it that way.
Forward facing is equal to motor torpedo boat, as a second option if drone boat is hit. Vertical missiles amount to third option!
They’re guided missiles that track Heat signatures. It doesn’t really matter much which they they’re pointing.
@@GrahamCStrouse Heat seeking missiles have an acceptance angle in which they'll detect a heat signature. Ukraine appears to be using R-73s, which, depending on the version, can detect targets anywhere from plus or minus 40 degrees from center up to plus or minus 75 degrees. So you can't fire one forward and expect that it will see something that's at your rear. Which is good, lest it detects your own heat signature and comes after you.
I supposed those R-73 weren’t being used by the Ukrainian Air Force because of the lack of planes to shoot at. Might as well use what you have.
Its unfortunate that the drones cant carry forward and rear facing missiles.
where are the kronos vehicles? tey are the most advanced sea drones
Look like Ukraine should point the missiles aft. The chopper are likely to chase the drones down. If the drones try to initiate the attack on the helicopter, they’ll give away their position.
It’s easier to use two anti-aircraft missile drones at a distance of 300 m from each other to cover blind spots.
Hmm, don't like the design of that missile setup on that drone ship. They should have mounted one missile facing towards the stern for quicker response to helicopters approaching from the rear ... 🤔
This is so cool! 😎👏
Thanks
interesting idea, but poor implementation. there is an opinion that the missile cannot see the target due to the target’s low altitude above the water. Helicopters do not fly high, while missiles have restrictions on the height of their use.

Russia could have destroyed Ukraine's energy industry in the first month, plunging it into the Stone Age. But the trick is that she needs these territories along with cities and infrastructure. What I won't say about Poland, Romania or the Baltic states. Strikes by such drones are possible while there is a gray area. But Ukraine will definitely lose access to the sea, and if not, then the conflict will end for it another time with the loss of the coast.
All of your opinion.

@@Rheinmetall2025if you look up the port city of Odesa on a map and where the Russians are advancing in the north & east of the Ukraine/Russian border. It will then make sense where tax payer money should be spent.
Easier for Russia to attack by land than via Crimea or the Black Sea. Crimea has been a lost cause since the civil war began 10 years ago in 2014.
The focus is on the wrong area and money Ukraine is begging for should be spent wisely and not wasted on pinpricks against Russian oil or naval fleet.

An unprotected missile on top of the boat makes the boat extremely vulnerable. Not the smartest solution.
If you don’t do it the helicopters have open season on the drones. Even if it doesn’t work they have to respect the threat of it
And what would be your solution ? Put armor plates and make drones slow and heavy? They rely on being a small fast moving target.
