The biggest thing people have to realize about this Commanders team is Adam Peters built a this team along with DQ with chemistry in mind, not signing a bunch of big names that might not fit well together. That is one of the reasons he traded Jahan Dotson before the season he just didn't fit the style of player that Peters and Quinn wanted for this team and yes talent wise and profile Dotson was more than Noah Brown that they brought in but Brown is the better fit and why not get a 3rd round pick for a player that you would be cutting in your mind, same applies to a guy like John Ridgeway he didn't fit the style of defense but had at least a 7th round pick value so moves like that add up and show that as an organization the front office and coaches are playing chess not checkers and at sometimes playing 4D chess when others are playing checkers.

He got players like wagner and Luvu who can play and teach the young grouo how to be professionals. DQ being hired was another plus. He liked Kliff and hired him. When Kliff got hired. Even before the draft. They knew they wanted Jayden. He started working on plays for Jayden before they even drafted him. Jayden got to work studying the plays right away. Adam's hiring coaches who know how to coach and teach was the best move. And he still kept the cap space wide open to sign more players next season. Because he knows we still need to get better players in other positions like cornerback. Imagine us doing pretty good already and this isn't even a finished product. Everyone had been working as one since Adam got hired. I remember people being mad when Kliff got hired. Now those same people are saying Kliff is doing a good job. 😅

Commanders fan here. I would set the sights a bit lower. Goal is hosting a playoff game, floor is wild card appearance, no less than 1 game back from division champs. The secondary is a fatal flaw and I think you’re much more likely to see Peters trade players like Forbes away than try to develop him. Recalibrate isn’t just a buzz word to avoid the word rebuild - this regime is holding the team to a standard much higher than what year 1 of a rebuild would be, because this isn’t the same situation that Houston was in. Whether it’s in 25 or in 26, this will be the first team to win the NFC East back to back. But the fans and the team are not buying the hype yet, there’s still work to do.
