Hey Shaun. I am sure it's only a matter of time before we see a 4K transfer for the original Planet of the Apes. They can't ignore it's any longer. Something's telling me it will only be the original movie though and none of the sequels.

Just love these maniac editions that Filmarena do. And like you said, The Planet of the Apes trilogy is often forgotten when you think of trilogy's. I'd put it in my Top 5 trilogy's easily. Great edition Keith and thanks for sharing.
Honestly Sebastian I cannot get enough of these filmarena editions Particularly these one click editions. I just recently got a beautiful release of venom and honestly it's one of the best looking artwork I have ever seen in terms of editions Like These. Cannot wait to show it
Only just got around to watching these and if I knew how good they'd be, I'd have watched them much earlier. Second movie was my personal favourite... although War was beautiful in 4k. Great looking set Keith. Thanks for showing us all
I'm trying to decide whether Dawn or war is my favorite of the trilogy. I am a massive fan of Jason Clarke and I thought he was fantastic in that movie. @@millerman9991 Jason Clarke is great in Dawn & I really liked his performance in Everest... another really good movie with amazing sound. The moment at the beginning when Ceasar shouts "go"... I just loved that. All three are really enjoyable movies & I'm sure I read they were thinking of doing another.... not sure how that would go?
Yes you are correct a fourth movie has been announced and I'm hoping it'll be the start of another trilogy. Maybe branch that gap between the latest trilogy and the original Planet of the Apes. That sounds perfect to me and hopefully that will happen. Looking forward to seeing what they're going to do

Great minds think alike my friend. I've just started the trilogy myself. You forget how fantastic it actually is. I was just told there's a fourth movie coming as well and I'm hoping it's something different and not a continuation of this trilogy. I think it ended perfectly and we don't need a continuation of it

Yeah it's a very strange trilogy. It's almost perfect and yet nobody seems to talk about them. I just heard that a fourth movie is coming. Hopefully this will connect this trilogy with the original movie.
The trilogy is great. One of my favourites. The end of the trilogy has a satisfying conclusion, just like the end of the John Wick quadrilogy. Regarding the Film Arena box set, the quality looks to be excellent, but I don't think it's for me. Given that the trilogy was so good, I am more interested in a well done trilogy box set than the individual movies. I would love it if Film Arena would do a 4K trilogy box set in the style of the 3d/bluray steelbook that's in your review (edition 2). That is an awesome-looking steelbook.
I completely understand where you are coming from particularly with an edition like this. Just like yourself I would rather have seen the entire trilogy inside this set but unfortunately it's something filmarena rarely do. Having said that I would love to get a complete trilogy with each movie done just like this edition. How incredible would that look. It would never happen though. Hi Mark, you could look into getting it sent to Northern Ireland and forwarded to you, there's no UK or EU customs there as its in a unique zone. Customs loophole zone. I use it myself or UK customs.

Good morning Keith ! My God what a great set, fantastic. I have to say the original is one of my favourite series of Movies , yes , even the later nonsense ones ! I can clearly remember the first time I saw Planet of The Apes was on a Sat night late on BBC1 ! Maybe 35 years ago !! And I just loved with them. I particularly took a love of Hestons Sci Fi movies, Soylet Green , Omega Man !
Soylet Green is just a gem set in 2022 !! Maybe a warning 😮
The Tim Burton attempt to revive the catalogue was in my opinion a flop ! I definitely agree there were all ace in this series…! The Final one is called Kingdom of the planet of the apes and I think the missing space shuttle they keep mentioning in the first of this series May final land & we could get to hear “ Get your hands off me off me you dam dirty ape “ 😀👍

To be honest Conor I don't think that is going to be the final Planet of the Apes movie. As a matter of fact I reckon it's going to be a revival of the series and I wouldn't be surprised if we get another trilogy. Having said that I really do hope they revisit that storyline with the missing spaceship and piece together the latest trilogy to the original movie. I had such a great time with Resident Evil 4. I wasn't expecting it to be as long as it was. I actually clocked in 28 hours on my first playthrough

I'm loving this boxset Keith. Film Arena have done a cracking job on this edition. The gift is a nice touch, and If you hadn't have said it was the window from the first movie, I would have never have known. The character Red Donkey reminds me of Donkey Kong, maybe thats why they call him Red Donkey. I have seen Rise but I'm yet to watch Dawn and War. I do have them along with all the original movies. The original 1968 with Charlton Heston was my favourite. I will watch these last two Keith and let you know what I think.
Hey Gary. Honestly I never thought to put that together when it comes to red donkey. That's probably why he is called that. I can't praise the trilogy enough and I hope you sit down and watch the last two and please come back and let me know Gary because I think you'll be blown away by them. Andy Serkis as Caesar gets better and better with each movie. As for this edition from filmarena I honestly can't praise it enough. Apparently the fourth movie just got announced. For me the trilogy is perfect and I honestly don't think we need another movie. Hopefully the fourth will be the start of another trilogy and not a continuation
@@millerman9991 I promise I will watch Dawn by the weekend and let you know Keith, you have made me want to watch them now even though I have had them for sometime. I only just watch Catch Me If You Can the other day for the first time and loved it, I didn't realise it was based on a true story. I loved how it ended as well, to this day they are very close friends, thats amazing.
It's a very underrated Tom Hanks movie. It's one of them stories thats so unbelievably ridiculous that you can't help but believe how true it is. I need to revisit that movie. Im such a fan of it

It's a very strange trilogy because no one ever seems to talk about it. Even i sometimes forget about it. In my eyes the trilogy is Perfection. I wouldn't change a thing and I heard we are getting a fourth movie and hopefully it will Bridge the gap between this trilogy and the original movie. Thanks for checking it out John

Hey Keith absolute unit of an edition. I recently got the 4k trilogy and must give them a rewatch soon. Do you know anybody with PSVR or similar VR headset Keith? Apparently it's meant to be really cool way to watch 3d blu rays if you ever get the chance to see it.
I actually had a PS VR and I remember trying it before and it was strange. Every time you move your head the screen is always there in front of you. I'm actually picking up the new VR headset very soon and I'm going to try it with that and see what it's like
@@millerman9991 Oh nice, PSVR 2 is infinitely better in every way especially controls. The huge screen mode for media is far improved aswell but definitely try a 3d bluray through it if it's working at launch and let me know on pm, it's supposed to be really cool and that psvr2 has a far superior screen for it. If you own re village I hear that's really good on it with the VR update.
I have been just contacted by somebody telling me not to buy the VR at the moment. There is a massive rumour going around that there is going to be a huge price drop because apparently it's sales has been very poor since launch. I'm not quite sure what to do now whether to believe it or not. Last thing I want is to buy it now just to find out in two weeks it's going to drop down by 100 euro
@@millerman9991 Sony has actually decreased production by 20-30% so this could very well be the case of that price drop, either that or they give it PC support which is probably its main issue, niche product stuck on ps5 only ecosystem. If they gave it pc support it would probably be doing great sales.
