    I wouldn't be able to leave the salt and fertilizer on the floor. it would need to go on a pallet or something to allow for air circulation. Maybe on casters as well to allow for cleaning along the wall and in the corner. Looking good.

      I would have to have it on wheels for FIFO. Preferably something along the lines of two and only two castered carts per item. Or maybe one cart per item with one empty cart to fill the "next" onto, depends on how usage works out. But anyway first thing I would want to solve is the FIFO puzzle. Bugs me to see a heap of any product where the bottom one is lord knows how old.
      Great vid, the verbal explanations of the "before" condition weren't as fun as pics or vid but still illustrated the problems that were solved and how much better things are due to a bit of attention and time invested. It's clear to employees coming to use these tools and spaces later that others on the team care about making their work easier.

    You guys should offer a service where a crew comes out to a home or business and does all these organization improvements, I would be first on the list.

      Thank you for the kind words. There are people that do that already. Our goal is to make everyone independent!

    Awsome stuff! U guys are really a place to look up to... What about some max/min markings on the wall for the fertilizer on the floor? Maybe with some reordering cards for you purcashing department.. Depending of where you get it.. Or better yet, card you can scan and send directly to supplier.. Or take a picure with your phone and email directly on the spot... Flip the card when ordered. I love lean and could go on forever :) keep up the awsome job.

    Can you premix the chemical into one container instead of 3 separate ones? If you can do it in jug size lots you can eliminate all the mixing equipment etc.

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure if the chemicals would have a negative impact if they were allowed to be together for a prolonged period of time.

      Better to mix in time of need, not batch in advance.

    How about some Kaizen corners for the dumpster so the trash collector has good visual goal?

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a bad idea, but getting an external worker to follow the process and actually put it in the korners every time might be very difficult. Also applying Kaizen Korners to textured outdoor cement they will not stick well, especially through repeated dragging of the trash can over them in our winter weather. We might try painting some corners for it that would last longer, but again, then if the trash man doesn’t put it back right in the marks it will just look worse than without the marks! Lukas

      You need something to keep your mower from being smashed by the garbage truck.

    put a hole where the garbage can is so you don't have to slide it out.

    Paul, when you say "2-second improvements", what does the 2 second mean? Surely that's not how long they took to make, as some of those improvements may have taken a couple of minutes to do?
