I did this today following these steps. My top case is a Givi V47NNT, and the process is exactly the same. My top case can't have a customized keylock but all the rest was the same. I purchased the E135 brake lights from Givi and the bike plate from a Kawasaki dealer. I had to glue the connector to the plate using a bi-component glue like Andy, otherwise it was likely the connector to move and fail wiring connection between the case and the plate. Thanks a lot Andy for another very helpful video!
You have a lot of patience with that connector on the base plate. I would’ve just drilled a hole in the back corner and used an SAE connector. Good job !
I like the way you explain in this videos, all cristal clear, not such conmon thing on youtube, I have tried to build up an installation for this, didn´t know the givi kit, and eventually got to the same type of installation, but better with the givi kit, so im going to try :).
Your video was a great help!! Thank you! The only thing I did different was instead of glueing the contact at the right height I inserted 2 rubber rings. Let's see if this works in the long run...
Shad case on my versys,, will see if there is something similar. Not sure if it's legal in Spain🚔, will investigate too 👍 thanks a lot for your videos Andy
i tried to do that in my previous versys and it didn't work, the socket was misaligned and very often there was no connection and the light didn't work
Hi Andy, Came across your video for the Givi brake light. I am in the process of adding extra tail lights to my Versys 1000GT and i was wondering if you know the part no for the brake light connectors you spliced into (both male and female sides). I intend to fit an extension lead between the male/female connectors rather than splice into the actual connector. I will then run off a lead (from the red wire) for use as an ignition trigger wire for a relay
Looks great but most cars drivers wond see the top box lights . Maybe if in a sub, land rover or discovery, Lorry's driver may see it. Nice work though.
So it appears as though if I choose to add a top case with brakelights, I should use the Givi base instead of the Kawasaki to avoid the issue you ran into? I am enjoying your videos by the way.
Thanks Andy for your excellent video as usual.
After receiving my box of the givi E135 kit in the mail, high-lighted on the outside package in neon green says this light kit can not be used on the M8 or M9 aluminum top case mount pads. I have an alum mount on my ‘07 Honda ST1300. I am installing it anyway to see what happens.
it has been working without problems for 2 years, in my previous Versys it worked for 4 years without problems, so the conclusion is simple, if you do everything correctly, it should work 😁
I fitted one of these a long, long time ago on a TDM900 that had a Givi box and they are pretty robust. Had it for many years and never failed. They are expensive for what they are, and the effect is pretty minimal to cars that are generally below the eye line of those LEDs, but it's a nice little extra, especially if you ride a lot at night where they will stand out more.
Bedankt!

I'm glad everything worked out, I hope this brake light will serve you for a long time, and of course I'm glad I could help. take care😃
That is an awesome job. This video is like a meditation from the regular chaos in India. I wish I had the time that you have.
You have a lot of patience with that connector on the base plate. I would’ve just drilled a hole in the back corner and used an SAE connector. Good job !
I wish to reflectors below the brake light working in the video. Haven’t found any video on it.
Amazing job with the installation.

Nice job, instead of soldering I use posi tap connectors, they never fail.
Quite a complicated installation, but nice result in the end for your hard work. 👍

Profesjonalna robota panie Jędrek. 😀

Na szczęście nie przeciekają (o dziwo) 🙂
There is no need to glue it to be at horizontal level , just put it in a drilled hole and that's it. I did it that way and it works well.
i tried to do that in my previous versys and it didn't work, the socket was misaligned and very often there was no connection and the light didn't work

Very Nice Work
Good and clean job!!
if i don't have such led lamp, what type of led can be used or compatible with it? Thanks before
No has intentado agregar luces a los Maletas laterales?
Thank you great tutorial! 👍
Looks great but most cars drivers wond see the top box lights . Maybe if in a sub, land rover or discovery, Lorry's driver may see it. Nice work though.
Świetny filmik
Great tutorial :)
Good job 👏
Top, dank voor de link
The FIRST🤩
🤣

Well, that sounds logical, unfortunately I'm afraid that the original GIVI base will not fit the Versys, because it is of a completely different shape
We that sucks..

@@MotoAndy thanks
It is sad that the plate wasn't designed for this modification. Poor engineering. Does Givi offer a plate?
you can buy a givi base plate, but in addition you need to buy an additional rack (for the base plate), the plate itself does not fit

My Versys 650 comes with a Givi top case mount so i didn't have to drill holes and the like@@pdx650
