I just got done reading judges and this chapter confused me the most so I had to look up a video and this one ended up being the one I saw. In the last of the video where you describe today's Church, I completely agree with it. I just recently turned back towards god a year ago. I turned away when I was 15 due to churches like these. My (single) mother was one of them (she's now pagan). When i turned away rather than try to figure out what happened and why I made that decision, she instead immediately condemned me and told me i was going to hell. Because of those type of people i saw Christianity as a violent religion and wanted no part of it. My husband has made me see what the truth is and ive started reading the bible every day to better understand everything. Study to show yourself approved.

@sapphira91500 I'm happy you have turned back to Jesus. It's hard not to be confused when the churches fail us, but we can't be angry at God for that. My family escaped a bad church too and I'm so grateful for it. A lot of inconvenient things were happening and I didn't understand then. But I spent six months reading and rereading the Bible. Something i hadn't done before. And God opened my eyes. I felt like i was in the Ark and God was teaching me. God is Awesome and again, I'm very happy you have returned. 🤗

Hi there! I like you application, I’m just searching for an answer to WHY the Levite cut up his concubine in to 12 pieces and sent the pieces throughout the territories??? I’m so confused about that, anyone who had insight about this please let me know. Thanks! GOD bless!

I’m with you! The thing that comes to mind for me is the 12 tribes of Israel. Like what message is in this that God wants us to understand? Why he gave the wicked men his concubine? Why they sexually abused her so much till when she got to the house she died? What is God saying about the church or about ppl in this story? Something to definitely research and pray for revelation for.

It literally says it in verse 29. And also read it in amplified classic. “He took hold of his dead concubine” is what it literally says. Be blessed!

I don't think anything about the situation was right or pleasing to God. I think the story is meant to show how distant the people were from God.

This story makes me so sad, but how much more disgusting was this then to God?
This was detestable to God. Judges mentions again and again, the people doing their own thing. They did not live pleasing to God. They just did evil after evil.
I’m glad He gives us His character and aligns us with His judgment. That we can join Him in finding this horrific and rebuke it
Ppl wonder about this story in the Bible. It’s hard reading real stories, but evil things happened and still happen. r*pe happens, and God is making it known that HE knows about it. And God is making known how HE feels about it. I know God’s character and the evil of this world makes Him shake with anger. Vengeance is the Lord’s …He will judge

Do you know what is actually creepier than, that story? A clueless preacher trying to justify it, because it is in the Bible after all and therefore it must be "good".
"Otherwise god would not allowed such abomination be a part of his "holyword"
This is case study why religion is so harmful.

    • @2BeLikeChrist

The horror of this story occurs because the people aren't religious and have no respect for God. I'm pretty sure you missed the whole point. You just wanted to rage in the comment section.
Read the book of Judges and you'll see that this wickedness comes about because the people didn't care about God's word. If you drew the conclusion that "This is a case study why religion is so harmful," then you clearly didn't comprehend.
