Thanks for checking out the MeshPort Red! If you ride with other riders, you'll love being able to record your group intercom audio, thanks to the MeshPort Red. Recording group Mesh Intercom audio is something that many motovloggers have wanted to do for some time; the MeshPort Red makes it possible on Sena's Mesh network! Plus, you won't monopolize your intercom connection as you would if you had to connect to your device to the GoPro 12 strictly via Bluetooth, without MeshPort Red.
We've taken note on your desire for some more thorough instructions - thanks for the feedback. You can use the app to pair the MeshPort Red to your GoPro12 - or you can also use the main function button. Here's how:
    1. Just press and hold the MeshPort Red until the device blinks red and blue - that means your MeshPort Red is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
    2. Then, find MeshPort Red in your GoPro's menu, and connect!
    3. If it's not already, tap the MeshPort Red button to turn Mesh Intercom on. The light will flash green to signify that the Mesh Intercom is on. The MeshPort Red has now connected to the Mesh intercom network!
    4. Turn Mesh on your Sena helmet device. As long as it's on the same Mesh channel (default: Channel 1) it will automatically seek out the other Mesh-connected devices (like your GoPro 12, via the MeshPort Red), and connect automatically! Now your GoPro is connected to the Mesh Intercom network and can receive voice controls from anyone in the group - and will also record everyone in the group!
Also - our devices are all weatherproof and will handle natural weather that gets thrown at them. Officially we will not call the 50S *waterproof* because it is not made to be and stay submerged. But that said - after having done side by side testing with competitor devices, the Sena performance is the exact same as or superior to devices who's makers claim they're waterproof. (Plus if anything ever goes wrong with your 50S, it has a three year warranty!) Hopefully this helps you rest easy :).

I’m impressed with the clarity of those instructions. I’ve just updated my Sena srl 2 to the srl mesh and also looking at upgrading my GoPro to the 12.
I never even knew the red mesh comm device existed
I’m now like a kid in a sweet shop 😁as I have two helmets and looking for another comms unit for that one. Thanks Sena & of course Moto NZ.
I think I’ll be doing some review vids as well.

Just tried my new MeshPort Red for the first time and while it does connect when you follow the instructions above, but when the GoPro 12 shuts off to preserve battery power and starts back up, the MeshPort Red didn't reconnect. Does this mean you have to run the GoPro 12 continuously for the MeshPort Red to be functional? Also for others considering this, understand that if you connect your GoPro Hero 12 to the MeshPort Red--you forfeit the ability to have the GoPro connected to anything else such as The Remote or the Quik app. Definitely diminishes the functionality. So far, quite disappointed and wish I hadn't wasted the $200 on the MeshPort Red.

I would love one. We have vlogged with the Sena Audio pack for years and it's brilliant. I reckon I sold hundreds over the years to people asking about my Audio set up. Lol.
Can't seem to find any where to buy the Mesh port in NZ.
      Is it not available?? here???.

@abritablondeabike definitely available in motorcycle dealers in NZ.

Just saw this after trying to find some info on the Sena +MESH ADAPTER.
Have you had the opportunity to play with the +Mesh adapter?
If I understand the description right, it's designed to be able to connect a Bluetooth Sena comms unit to a Sena Mesh group. And since the Packtalk Edge can connect to Sena Bluetooth, that should mean you'd be able to connect to the +Mesh adapter and have a more reliable Mesh connection to the Sena group?

    Hi Ray !
Ivan here from across the Pond in Sydney !!
Loved your review of the Meshport Red adaptor, after seeing your vid i decided to bite the bullet and get one, and Love it !! Good work mate , its such a simple easy item to use.
1 question id like to ask (and im a little disappointed about finding out), is while using the Meshport red for the 1st time over the weekend its become apparent that the Gopro no longer uses its microphone to record the ambient sounds.
This part is the let-down as while Enduro/Dirt bike riding i no longer get the sound recording of my bike, other riders bikes, or people chatter (that have not got Mesh systems) while stopped or also recording while the Gopro is recording my rides on the trail.
Have you come across a fix / Hack to re-enable the Gopro microphone to also record at the same time as the Meshport Red adaptor ?
I have got a Gopro 12, Meshport Red and the Sena 50s, if that helps at all.
    Cheers !

      Hi there.
Sydney eh? I’m keen to get over there for some riding.
Yes I have a fix for you.
Well in my experience I do anyway.
When the GoPro hero 12 is connected to the MeshPort it’s recording from there. As well as 2 of the internal mics, so your audio technically has 4x mono mic tracks.
In your editing software you need to adjust the levels of each track.
I use finslcut pro and it’s reasonably ease to mute tracks or change the mix.
Let me know if that helps or you have any other questions

@MotoNZ Yeah Sydney definitely has lots of different riding scenes, the National Parks, Coast roads, the Country roads and the good old traffic stuff 🙄 ...
Wow thanks re the feedback on the editing of the footage, and the advice of which software to use (all this editing stuff is SUPER new to me), so I'll give it a crack, thanks heaps ! 👍

I bought the sena mesh port red to connect to my hero 12 and used it on a ride. Me and my buddy have sena 50s comms. When I checked the video I had double feedback of my voice. How do I fix that? It’s as if the audio from my mic In my helmet and the audio from the mic built into the hero 12 were picking up me talking at the same time and now it sounds like double speak? The GoPro is mounted on the chin of my helmet. Would appreciate your advice thx!

the gopro does indeed record both. it actually records 2x stereo tracks (4 mono tracks) 2 from internal mics and 2 from the bluetooth channels.
In post production you can adjust the volume of the tracks.
What are you using to edit?
I would recommend Finalcut Pro for apple, or Da vinci for mac or windows.

@@MotoNZ I’m using iMovie. I know it’s not that great but I usually get by just fine using that software. I had no idea you could adjust the volume of those tracks as you explained. I’m thinking I’ll have to upgrade to the better software. Thank you for your response.

Sounds like you’re using a Mac?
Finalcut pro is the best software to use. End of story.
      But Davinci is free

will my hero 11 work instead of the 12

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

The Hero 11 does not have the ability to connect to audio devices over Bluetooth.
The Hero 12 is the first GoPro to be able to connect and take an audio feed in this way.
