Why Isn't My Door Lock Working? Door lock problems are often caused by a malfunctioning lock mechanism or latch assembly, but there are several common reasons why locks stop working: The lock is dry or dirty. It doesn't fit in the door properly.
The main culprits to look out for are loose springs or parts that stick out. You can check this by trying to press the latch bolt tongue inwards, if you can't do this then it's most likely broken and beyond economic repair. 5) Another check to look out for is any debris that's blocking up the lugs in the door handle.
Why Key Won't Turn
A poorly cut key is being used.
The lock maybe faulty.
Door may have warped.
Lock may need lubricating.
Lock has been tampered with, causing damage.
The lever spring has failed or become loose.
The lock or key could just be worn out.
This can be a simple problem with a clogged mechanism, it can be an indication that your lock needs replacing, or it could mean that your whole door may be out of alignment. Over time, locks can start to rust, grime and dirt can gather inside of them, and the door itself can slightly adjust so it's out of position.
The doorknob has turned, and you expect to open the door but no, the door still does not move. The cause is that the door handle's rotor is broken or deformed, causing pressure on the latch to prevent the door from opening. You need to adjust the installation position or replace the door handle lock core.
Whether or not a door lock can be repaired depends on the type of lock. The easiest way when learning how to repair a door lock is to add or remove a hinge packer to one (or all) of the door's hinges, which will enable the lock to fit into the latch correctly.
Try using a screwdriver: If you can't find any visible screws, try using a screwdriver to remove the latch plate. Insert the screwdriver into the space between the latch plate and the door and try to pry the plate loose.

Sir, there's PLAY on the driver side window of my i20.
I grab the window, and it can be moved freely about 1 cm both HORIZONTALLY and VERTICALLY.
I think the issue is with loose window roller tab. Is there a way to replace only the roller tabs instead of replacing the entire window regulator frame unit to save money.
Hyundai service centre said I need to replace the entire regular frame unit. The roller tabs are not sold separately.
