I don't have Rayquaza yet and until I can start getting mega energy for Salamence from research I can't work on mega evolving Salamence just when primal Groudon and Kyogre are released depending on if we will get to encounter them outside of raids or not for the global Hoenn tour that will determine the path I choose between Ruby or Sapphire (red or blue) for the global Hoenn tour event I have Groudon I don't have Kyogre so if we can only encounter primal Groudon and Kyogre in raids I'll choose red (ruby) but if we can encounter them outside of raids and in research then I will choose blue (Sapphire) so I can have both even though I'll only be able to have 1 of them as a primal so I haven't decided yet I was going to go with Sapphire (blue) for Kyogre but since nothing has been said about global Hoenn tour other then when tickets for the shiny Jirachi masterwork special research will be available to get I can't actually choose a path unlike the Johto tour last year and the cosmic companion special research until I have more information on how getting primal Groudon and Kyogre is going to happen I can't really choose a path
Hopefully Rayquaza is the regular raid boss during hoenn tour ik deoxy only available for local players that Are there if so this could finally be my chance for a Rayquaza hopefully 🙏

Even if we was to compare base non shadow, non mega, Salamence to Base Rayquaza, surpringly enough Base Rayquaza and Base Salamence have nearly identical stats, just that Ray stats are slightly higher in all three of it's stats however the difference is very small , as Ray literally has less than 5 points more in each stat compared to Salamence. And since both have the same dual typing and same dragon moveset they would use in raids of dragon tail and Outrage, their performance would be similar although Ray would slightly edge Salamence having a slightly higher DPS and TDO just due to having ever so slightly higher stats bearing the same exact moveset, this difference isn't going to be huge and would practically be safe to say that they are nearly identical. Thus a Shadow Rayquaza would be just a slightly better shadow Salamence, but the keyword is "slightly" as they practically would be interexchangeable, thus if you have a shadow Salamence then by using it you can pretty much know how shadow Ray is going to be when it debuts. The real deal is going to be mega Ray as for their mega evolutions is when their stats are completely different from one another when comparing Mega Salamence to Mega Rayquaza, as by taking what mega Rayquaza's stats in the main series games, Mega Ray I beileve was supposed to have 389 attack, 216 defense and 233 stanima oddly even thou stanima/HP never increased upon mega evolution for any Pokemon in the main games nor Pogo and thought it would stay at is 213 stanima like base form, but anyways having a total of max CP of 6827. Don't get excited thou cuz it did apparently already receive a 10% debuff before ever yet being released into Pogo just as apparently the Mega Mewtwos did as well which I think is sad. Thus providing if Mega Ray does end up with the 10% debuff it's stats are going to be 354 attack, 197 defense and 213 stanima, with a total max CP of 5728, just having a only slightly higher max CP than Mega Salamence. Although I do think it's kinda sad and do beileve that the Dragon King deserves to remain unbuffed and as insanely broken as it was in the maingames with it's Godly near 7,000 max CP as it matches as to what kind of Pokemon Mega Ray is supposed to be, a sheerly powerful Apex Dragon. Not a slightly better mega Salamence. Although a 354 is still monsterous and significantly higher than Mega Salamence's 310 attack, it won't completely render Mega Salamence as completely useless either upon it's debut as yes it would have a much higher DPS but Mega Salamence would still be useful in raid situations that you need a bulkier mega as mega Salamence does have significantly better bulk and TDO than mega Ray. So thus I think they both will be good in their own way as Ray for all our damage and Salamence for bulk while still maintaining a fair amount of damage at the same time. But if Mega Ray goes unbuffed, then that difference would make Mega Ray significantly better as that increase in attack would make it's DPS that much higher as well as slight increases to bulk and it's overall CP nearing 7,000 it would pretty much render mega Salamence useless providing it's not debuffed.

Mega salamance should be ray as a normal, mega ray ray will most likely destroy mega salamance, normal ray ray gets out preformed by shadow salamance
