I feel your pain Kitch!! I absolutely detest working on my modern daily….. but I’ll happily go out and work on my 51 year old Wolseley in all weathers and thoroughly enjoy myself!! 😆
That silicon aftermarket hose should be better than old plastic hose and great to hear no more woosing such a difficult hose to replace but one thing you will not have to replace that hose for a long time
I must have missed the smiley bit. Very satisfying result, clonk aside. If I were closer, I'd design a couple of brackets, one to replace the original near the plenum but push the hose away from the block and a second to hold the hose clear of the pulley, probably what you're already thinking, then 3D print them in a suitable material.
Replacement booster hose for the win. Towards the end of the video, you described the knock as more of a rattle. This reminded me of the front suspension rattle I had on my 2008 C4 Grand Picasso which was the strut top mounts. I replaced them with genuine Citroen parts and the rattle was cured. It could be the same with your C6.
Another excellent little tinkering video on the C6 Rich, shame the rattle is still there, but at least there's no whooshing and as the Yoof of today says the C6 pulls like a train😂😂
Bottom ball joints are common, more of a bearing than a ball joint, did one on a last model C5 i owned but it made a grinding noise more than a knock tbh
I had a intercooler pipe that pop out on my Xantia 1.9TD from 96 (back in 2001)... I was driving during the night on A1 at Portugal , pushing the 92Hp while climbing the steep grade near Fatima to keep the 120Km/h in 5th when suddenly it went gutless , hardly maked 70Km/h in 3rd when arrived to the top of the climb, and fortunately there is a gas station there... it was pitch night , looking to the dark pipes and trying to figure out what append... and suddenly I see the shadow of the rubber tube that interconnects the tube to the intercooler , blind luck I didn't loose the screwed clamps when they pop out ...
I knew that it had a boost leak! As I believe I said before. I have ran Dirty old 1.9 PD's with Decats, EGR valve deletes, with hybrid turbos running over 230bhp that smoke less!
You may find it could be the anti roll bar bushes causing the rattle. Crazy thing is the bushes cause a rattle at the other end. I have a citreon C4 that was doing the same thing. No I didnt get a new anti roll bar just the bushes.
Remember if you need parts for this engine, and you cant find them at Citroen/Peugeot - Jaguar may likely have them. When I had my S Type with this engine I'd go to Citroen/Peugeot to get parts and Vice Versa.
I'm sure you've probably sorted the clonk by now or have checked this and I know a Panda is a bmvery different car..... BUT, when I had a similar clonk the garage changed my drop links which didn't cure it and it turned out to be a loose bump stop moving about on the strut that wasn't quite worn enough to drop down.
It could well be! My turbos were much more vocal than they were now, even a couple of years ago. Lots of tiny cracks would do that. I'd look for traces of oil around that hose.
love your videos , you find a problem and then try to fix it with some real effort unlike Mr Hubnut who likes to bodge it whenever he can with a magic can of engine flush or injector cleaner watered down many times with diesel. you could really teach him a thing or three😂
Relax, man, find your neutral space. You got a rush. It will pass. Be seated. Deep breaths embrace the horrible think Citroen. My friend Danny told me that!! Do you understand!! lol Nice one!!
@@UPnDOWN Sorry bud, I was just throwing in a withnail and I quote it for a laugh. I left a link a while back, of this french guy's channel. He restores DS and SM’s to music. He is also a DJ and runs a radio station. His TH-cam channel is CITROTHELLO. His work is just amazing and will give you a great insight to putting together the SM. It’s a real pleasure to watch, just like upndown but a bit different. I've been watching all your videos every week,, well since the beginning and I do like your channel very much. Thanks again!! fromTony..
Those pipes make an intriguing sound when you slap them, and I was waiting for an impromptu performance. Just to introduce a note of culture, in the 1970s a New Zealand experimental music group called From Scratch made a number of pieces for arrays of PVC pipes slapped on the open ends with flip-flops (technical name for such an instrument, a "plosive aerophone"). They had such a strong sense of rhythm that it was not at all dire in the way experimental music so often is. A use for discarded tubing lying around the workshop?
Regarding the newly found performance, have you tried to reset any kind of adaptations in the gearbox? Automatics can go mad with an engine that's not working "properly"
Could the rattle your hearing be top mounts or anti roll bar bushes love watching your channel. Love the c6 might get one one day always love french cars ive always had Renaults until recently land-rover endless problems want a french car back in my life lol
What is the deal with paying road tax monthly. To me that’s a bit stupid as I’m from Australia & in Victoria we pay registration fees (aka tax) of £400 & that is for 12 months at a time. Wouldn’t it be easier just to pay 1 lump sum & have a car that is taxed for 12 months rather than worry about every month?

Nice work there boss.Well done.
A good win on the boost leak. Good luck with the rattling noise. Maybe it’s the ARB?
Ahh fantastic well Done Kitch. There is no greater feeling than succeeding in fixing a problem that was hard to source.
Whoosh! You need Miss HubNut size hands to get deep inside your C6 rocket ship. The state of that original pipe though. Great work and video.
I probably do have Miss HubNut-sized hands!
Sure is challenging to work on but it's a C6 when you are done not a VW. That kind of makes it all worthwhile.

What a great idea to start making engine parts out of plastic.........
The best one I ever saw was plastic camshaft pulleys on Zetec engines in 2006-2009.
