As a leader you have to decide whether you want to be an enabler or a teacher. Sometimes people need to hit rock bottom to learn their lesson. Respect.
Theft and sexual harassment 2 things job don't play, whether it's between 2 employees or employee/customer, just ain't worth jeopardizing $1,000s or $100,000s from losing a contract/customer, or even lawsuit from fellow employee...rather be safe then sorry, unfortunately it may be excessive depending on the offense, but bad relationships and lost revenue ain't worth keeping the offender
If it's a private company, you might get away with it. Forget about it with a large company. Great lesson to learn though. I've worked in accounting and finance all my life. 1 conviction for stealing would've destroyed me
I like how you didn’t feed into the comment giving negative feedback like that person did. Much respect and free game that’s common sense. Blessings my guy 🙏🏾
It’s just annoying how unfair the world is. This guy got fired for stealing a lighter while Cam Newton got dismissed from UFlorida for stealing a 2k laptop and still was the #1 draft pick and ended up making 80 million dollars in his career. Both the same bad decision and one doesn’t matter in the least. While one gets punished to the max.
A lighter is like a dollar or ten the most. The employee had a job and couldn’t pay for a cigarette lighter? Him being the best driver had nothing to do with it. Driving is driving and a company can always find another driver. A company can find another best driver. You’re disposable as a truck driver. Lastly as you mentioned legally? Him getting fired was his second chance. Next time hopefully he won’t be so foolish to do that.
Man, companies will terminate you for anything reasons these days just got make your minimum wage money don't put your eggs one basket never know you on the chopping block.. etc
When faced with temptation, you gotta decide in that moment, “is it worth losing XYZ over?” And if the answer is no, move on. Of course it’s easier said than done, but that’s what you gotta think about when in those situations. The devil part of your brain that’s trying to justify your temptations, you gotta combat it with questions like “but is it worth it?” “is this gonna benefit my life in any way or is the consequences greater than the reward of having it?”
Like me and UNFI ., was there over 2 years and been to every selector shop since and UNFI was by far the best and all the other places since even leaving on good terms 2 week notices some of them it’s still not rehirable places like PFG for example .., they didn’t like me left after 90 days ., DPI foods turned into Kehe ( couldn’t get back on ) a lot of places I took for granted and kinda fucked for that ( getting outta food now finna check out medical 🏥 supplies warehouse )
Even tho everyone at UNFI was taking food ( breaking open drink cases ) and they knew it ( turned there backs ) getting outed to everyone for waking out with some toilet trees was just not giving a shit and not thinking that there would be repercussions for that 😞

I agree 100% 💯

Well said. I agree.
I never understood stealing when you have a job....

I don't think that commenter fully understood the whole situation of the incident. Where as you, the manager. Completely understood the situation.
I think your calling is to be a pastor not a trucker.
Good smart brother

Okay, but you don’t fix the problem by allowing more people to steal. That’s the entire point.
Respect❤💪🏽 it’s all about accountability and integrity 🫡
Love this! 100% agree❤
