"We have mistaken having and being, material possession as personality..." Very profound

What Mr. Kagoro left out of his eloquent speech, is that everybody who acted on their ideology got eliminated. The Marcus Garvey(s) the Malcolm X(s), the Martin Luther King(s), Kwame Nkrumah(s), the Fred Hampton(s) the Bob Marley(s) and the Muammar Gaddafi(s), all got eliminated.

This speech was admirable in its preparation and delivery. As a foreigner whose only contact has been with visiting Africans or members of the African Christian diaspora, I came to learn and was not disappointed. However I did take offense at some barbs thrown at my brothers and sisters.
It is also completely unacceptable to put Christians and muslims in the same conceptual box, or to suggest that islam has any liberatory capacity whatsoever.
No religion based on idle speculation and historical revisionism is deserving of 'respect'.
Love the sinner, but not the sin. Muslims need to be liberated from islam.
Most certainly the Bible DOES call for social and economic justice, pursued in a just manner.
    See Micah 6:8 for example.
At the same time it assigns dignity to the poor EVEN BEFORE liberation has occurred.
For 'not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.'
By either Neo-Liberal or Marxist standards, John the Baptist had no dignity, though he
was the forerunner of Christ----------because he was clothed in camel's hair, and his diet was locusts and wild honey.
(James 2:5) 'Did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of
the kingdom which he promised to those who love Him.'
Therefore the piety of the oppressed and dispossessed is not to be sniffed at.
I do not agree that the rise of oppressive elites has nothing to do with morality. Questions of power and dominance cannot be separated from questions of ethics or morality.
Otherwise we should have no reason to complain bout abuse of power. This not an amoral
universe in which only 'survival of the fittest' matters. Stay clear of that abysmal European ideology, which the CCP has also adapted for its own neo-colonial purposes.
(James 4:1--) 'What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source the lusts which wage war in your members? You lust and do not have, so you commit murder.....'
(James 3:14-15) But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition, do not be arrogant and lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic....'
    (James 5:5-6) 'You [rich] have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure;
you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.'
