Thanks for the tour! It looks magical and will add it to my to-do list next time I'm there. Regarding your future paths. You mentioned in the video considering doing pea gravel to match other areas of your yard and had previously mentioned how hard it is to get your gorilla cart across it (I agree because I also have pea gravel). I just watched garden tour that @urbanfarmstead posted yesterday. He uses a light layer of pea gravel over DG and said this allows him to wheel things across it with ease. Check out his Full Summer Tour video if you're interested in seeing his paths. He's also in N. Cal and has an amazing garden. He's more into food forests but has some great "rooms" that you may find inspirational as you revamp your garden space.

I visited both places two summers ago when I was visiting my best friend in Albion and didn’t want to leave because it was so peaceful. My husband and I took a road trip up to the Mendocino in our little 91 Miata convertible back in early 2000 . He thought oh she can’t bring any plants home. I manage to get 6, 1 gallon rhododendrons in that little car. . Love that place. Hope you find a nice piece of land in your favorite place. Loved the video 🌻🧡
Oh my ... thank you ever so much for sharing your trip with us !!! What a glorious, wonderful botanical garden - one you can wander and get inspired in - not too fancy or groomed - one you can walk thru and say "I can do that in my garden !" (my favorite kind of botanical gardens). The plant you loved with the spiked flowers is a persicaria - love 'em !!! And the roses - good giggly wiggly - this Georgia girl would love to have such beautiful roses in her garden - when I visited my son in Santa Barbara I was blown away by the roses. Sadly down here in the South it is way to humid (black spot - ugh !), buggy (Japanese Beetles - ugh!) and our Summer night time temps rarely get below 75f - not the best of growing conditions for roses. Thank you again for sharing this adventure - I got some good ideas for my own garden and for that I am always grateful!!!
Someday you must visit Butchart Garden in Victoria BC. I’ve visited gardens all over the world, and to my mind it is the most beautiful. Winding paths everywhere and spectacular plantings. Spring and autumn are the most stunning.

I have wanted to send you comments for soo long but have never posted to anything so not sure you are going to get this! I am from Durham! I started following Janey because she lives in Davis. I grew up in Woodland. I wanted to follow people who garden in my zone. When I first found you from Janey you had posted from the plant barn. I was freaking out!! I go to the plant barn frequently and it’s my favorite nursery! I have been there when you have just left! My husband thinks I may have stalker vibes!!😂😂 When I first started watching your videos and heard the train it wasn’t long before I heard the train as well! I just couldn’t believe someone on TH-cam lived near me! You are like a movie star to me!😂 But seriously Robbie I look forward to all your videos! You make me laugh, give me great ideas, and a new way to look at my yard and garden areas! I have also learned a lot about plants and how to take care of them! You inspire me to redo my backyard as well! Thank you for being such an inspiration to me and you know we are almost neighbors! 😂😂 Have so much fun in Ft Bragg you deserve it and I’m super jealous! Sitting here in Durham at 100 plus degrees! Have you ever gone to Simply Succulents in Ft Bragg? It doesn’t appear that you have any succulents but I love them! I have bought many from this nursery and the owners and workers are super knowledgeable and helpful! Succulents dont always thrive here but in the fall and spring mine shine! Of course that would be a reason for me to move to Ft Bragg because succulents thrive there!! Have a great trip! You deserve it!

Oh thank you!! The nursery is Hodges they are just outside of Durham heading to Chico in the Midway! It is the best place to get fruit trees and they often give seminars on fruit trees! It’s so nice to talk with you neighbor!😃

I bought the Sphaerocephalon alliums from ColorBlends and planted them last fall, and they have the sweetest little blooms. Mine just finished blooming (late bloom time) and I'm letting the seed heads dry in place because I want to try to grow them from seed. If you would like to try this as well, I'll send you some seeds. 🤗

The plant that you loved with the dark pink/red spiky flowers might be a variety of persicaria also called knotweed. I have it and just removed it as it spreads by seed prolifically. Japanese beetles also love it. I try to remove anything that attracts Japanese beetle. I cannot be sure it is persicaria just from a picture and it might grow differently there than in my Zone 4b garden.

We went there a couple of years ago for Thanksgiving with family. We stayed at Noyo Harbor Inn and visited the botanical gardens! So beautiful! Completely understand why you’d want to live there. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

We had sheep once, I use one of their water troughs for a water “ garden “ . I have a hardy liliy plant in mine and she’s beautiful when she blooms. 🌺💚🙃
