  • In this video we take a look at my WE 1911 MEU GBB pistol replica. If you've seen my previous video on the pistol elite course at Tazball Airsoft you will have seen it in action. Find that video here:
    • Airsoft pistol range. ...
    This replica was the first GBB pistol I ever bought and it has been used in many many games. I've always liked the 1911 platform but many reviews I've seen for this particular one have been mixed.
    Together we will have a look at why I think this pistol would make a worthwhile addition to your collection. Why I think it's good for gameplay and some of the downsides to this particular replica.
    Get the pistol here:

    The WE 1911 meu was also my first gbb pistol. I was lucky I guess, mine has never given me any problems, I’ve had it for about 3 years and ridden it hard. I do clean and lube it as necessary. Bought mine at evike open box for about 80 dollars U.S. it was returned for a leaky mag, nothing wrong with the gun itself. (My score)

    Beautiful gun. I bought an Army Armament R28 MEU 1911 with a spare magazine. What I didn't know was that I got a regular 1911 magazine and not one for an MEU pistol, now my spare magazine is too short to actually click into the gun and tends to fall out when shaken too hard.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are a nice looking replica I agree. I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you've had with the spare magazine. I know with this WE MEU I have both MEU style magazines and standard 1911 mags and they both work fine. I wonder if that is only something that becomes an issue with the army armament version, perhaps slightly different tolerance.

      @@rockbottomairsoft I read in the magazine description that they're supposedly compatible with the R28 but it is likely that the grip of the gun would need filing at the front between the 2 grip panels. One of my mags has swollen and is no longer usable. @@rockbottomairsoft It is lighter than a smokeless gunpowder pistol. They may partially be attributed to the substantial weight of 7 rounds of 45 in the mag, as opposed to plastic BBs. i just recently acquired my WE 1911 MEU with rail and i encountered the same issue with the slide not locking back at the last round fire. What i noticed is that the slide stop is not moving up freely to catch the slide. this is due to the slide stop plunger holding on to the slide stop because there is this little protruding metal on the back of the slide stop where it meets the slide stop plunger. What i did is I filed down very carefully bit by bit the protruding metal until i have a somewhat cleaner back of the slide stop. this solved my issue with the slide stop not catching the slide.

    So I noticed that green gas nozzles aren't long enough to fill the clip that the gun came with. What was your solution to that?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmmm, that is an interesting one. I take it your having problems with the silver meu mag with extended base plate that came with the replica. I will be honest I've only encountered difficulties with that once and only with one particular bottle of green gas. I think nozzle lengths can vary for different brands of green gas. I've found no issues with most brands and you can fill as normal. If you struggling try a different bottle and see if that sorts it.
      My spare mags for this replica are standard 1911 for we and not meu ones. The only reason I did that is they are cheaper but another advantage is they aren't as fussy about green gas.
      I tend to use WE green gas or Nuprol and there nozzles will reach the fill valve on the MEU mags though.
      Hope this helps?

    Hello, nice video at first. I am interested to buy a airsoft pistol like yours, but with the rail at the bottom however it’s the same. May you answer me do you have information does the Army Armament magazines that are not single stack as yours would fit in the handle?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. To answer your question the double stack mags will not fit in this replica. This is due to them being 2 different pistols. Both here in the replica world and also firearms. The 1911 is a single stack mag. Hi capa replicas or firearms such as the 2011 use a double stack magazine. So the upshot is. If you want double stack mags but want 1911 styling/controls then get a hicapa. If you want a pure 1911 replica then you can get 1911's with a tactical rail.
      Hope this helps.

      I apologise, I miss understood your question. In answer to your actual question then. The answer as far as I am aware is no. I've just checked out those R29 magazines, which as you've said are 1911 magazines. I've not tried them myself but as far as I can gather, the Army Armament is a TM clone. So it's mags will work in TM's, KJW's, etc. The WE 1911 is not an exact clone. Doing a little bit of digging on forums it appears that for that reason WE 1911's will only accept WE 1911 magazines.

    Hey buddy I have another question;
    How reliable is it? Everyone says on online reviews the gun breaks or wont shoot after a couple months, but that isnt the case for you. I just assume they arent maintaining/lubricating/cleaning their gun? Or are these just not designed to last? (with lets say an hour of shooting a day)
    I really dont want mine to break, so how can I prevent that?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, there are certainly issues that can be had with this replica. I've had mine for approximately 3 years now. I've used it regularly in game through winter and summer. The only breakage I've had in that time was a broken loading nozzle. The part is very cheap and easy to replace. That happened about six months after I got it and I put it down to some heavy use in the field(dropped a few times). Since then I've had no other issues with it. The failures you see on various online communities could be down to a number of reasons. It could be bad luck and they get a bad one. It could be miss use. It could be due to poor maintenance.
      If you want it to last as long as it can, make sure you use good quality green gas, try to avoid red or black as that will put additional strain on it. Keep up with maintenence, clean and lubricate after every outing. That should keep it running for years to come.
      Hope this helps.

    I bought it myself before a week ! it's my first gas blowback pistol and for the price it's pretty beautiful and nice the sound is also amazing when i shoot BUT even tho i know that pistols shoot with less fps and probably the bullet will fall much faster than a sniper or and AR should, its weird because with max hop up it gets to 25-30 m before the bullet start's falling ... Is this good for a gas blowback pistol? I mean my sniper with max hop up can reach 120m without a problem and my AR 80-90m ... If you've only just got it I would send or take it back and have it replaced. However if this isn't an option for you then the first thing I would check would be the loading nozzle. When you remove the slide you will notice a plastic nozzle which can move. Directly beneath the nozzle and attached to it there is a protruding plastic piece. This pushes the bbs out of mag lips and up the ramp into the hop. If that piece of plastic has broken off you will need to replace the loading nozzle. Easy enough job and doesn't take long.
      Like I say though, if you've only just got it and it's failed on the first mag the retailer should sort it out for you.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, good question. As you may know the replica in this video is a 1911 and not a hicapa or in the real steel world a 2011 I believe. In airsoft there are a few differences, the main one being Hicapa's have a double stack mag and 1911's are single stack. So in a long winded way no, it's not a 5.1 as that is a Hicapa and this is a 1911. However some parts may very well be interchangeable. If your looking for a pistol project though I would recommend to skip this one and get some sort of Hicapa, they generally have better gas efficiency due to larger mags and hold more rounds.

      It's worth noting though that suppressors on gbb pistols can negatively affect performance.
      I hope this helps.

      Is the adapter you just linked the correct thread size for the gun in the video? Thanks

      I haven't used it myself but I believe it is the correct size. 11mm internal thread to 14 mm ccw thread. This should allow fitment of most suppressors.
