My theory Summary : Dottore was originally trying to cause trouble to Inazuma which Jester had requested. He decided to fake being a friend to infuriate Tatarasura, but the people treated him like their own and dottore felt he was a monster after being treated so well. He saw himself as a monster that no one could accept. And pity to them that they could not see his true self and only saw his fake. Though he felt comfort that they were able to accept scaramouche despite being non human. Envy built up inside him and he felt furious that they were able to accept him so easily, while he had to hide his true self. This motivated him and broke the hesitation to corrupt Tatarasura and complete Jester’s request. I don’t know but perhaps Dottore saw Scaramouche as a test subject or maybe he was just bitter so he conducted the furnace experiment on him, when he survived Dottore saw Scaramouche as a good pawn.
That's a nice theory and I would like your version! (And who knows, with there being so many different segments who could have different personalities then theoretically nothing is "out of character" for Dottore until we know more) But I'm afraid that based on what we know so far, Dottore didn't care about people being nice to him or treating him as "one of their own" and that wouldn't have emotionally touched him at all. People liked him at the Akademiya yet he was literally murdering girls who wanted to be his friend/date long before he ever joined the Fatui. Sure, it irked him that people at the Akademiya saw him as a madman and didn't agree with his views... but I'd say he only has himself to blame. I mean..... if one's true self means "doesn't care about morals, ethics, feelings, health or lives of others" it's unsurprising that others won't accept them. He can't murder people if he feels like it and experiment on children and then expect others to not mind.
@@Mercyfalls he still care about people being nice to him remember at the archon quest he said he was disappointed that no one cared about his academic experiments

Well that makes the Pale Princess and The Six Pygmies even more interesting. Anyways, I never thought I'd see Scaramouche as a kitten in literally the game in my life. I want Scarakitten as a plushie now.
I just noticed; this tells of one important detail among many! Scarakitten buried the bird; he didn't burn him down! It really was a funeral pyre! Take that, haters!
I think he burned the child, but he wanted to know if the child had a heart, because he saw the child just like him. A boy without a name. So when the boy told the story, he thought that’s how you can find the heart but when he realized the boy just disappeared into ashes, he saw that as betrayal and so for him, it was like being told he doesn’t have a heart. Maybe after, he buried the ashes of the child.
Idk maybe this is just me, but has anybody else noticed that the way nahida portrayed the monster/dottore was kind of sad too, like going off on the facial expressions of the little characters and such. I mean probably it's mostly just to give the story a fairy tale feel, the "actually lonely monster who tried to make friends" character (bc we know that that wasn't what canon dottore was trying to do, he wasn't trying to make friends), but part of me wonders if maybe, bc nahida made contact with dottore, she saw a deep and hidden part of him that we don't know about (a tragic backstory? hidden agendas?) and that's partially why she portrayed him in such a way?
Taking into account the world quests/secret notes/artifacts lores, its implied that Dottore was originally Zandik, like how the Harbringers have true names before taking on Harbringer codenames. Based on Zandik's backstory, there's a hint that Dottore had felt inner rage/anger of being an outcast, thus the jealousy.
Maybe she was able to see his younger self's memories and therefore found a small part of him that could be pitied? Dottore mentioned he pulls segments of himself from different time periods, so maybe she saw the one segment he's never brought to life; the one still full of hope and happiness before becoming lonely and monstrous.
since all Dottore's clones have something different in some aspect, its not wrong to assume that at least one would develope empathy or some kind of regret through his actions. who knows maybe we get to meet a Rogue Dottore Clone who gets to be playable.

"And no one can know that they were different." I wonder if Nahida got that impression from Scaramouche himself, or if she applied it to him. Because, if it was the case that she saw it in him... then that means all Scaramouche really wanted as an Archon was to destroy the boundaries between all people, so there were no more outcasts and misfits. So everyone would belong.
To get this first out of the way: I think it’s important to note that Nahida chose all of the lines in her deliberate allegory (which the traveler agreed reflected the events that occurred well and accurately) with the intent of reminding herself of the truth and that Nahida has been inside of Dottore’s head and had a glimpse of his inner thoughts. The way the original Chinese depicts this tale is interesting because it taps more into a certain line that a lot of people seem to be not paying attention to. The tale of the little monster and the kitten is a bit different in the original Chinese text as it's implied Dottore used Niwa’s heart to protect Scaramouche from the furnace (not to necessarily torment him that way) and to ensure he'll make it out alive without any damage being done to him. The tale mentions that the kitten (Scaramouche) and little monster (Dottore) befriended each other/the little monster felt companionship/understanding. And he wanted the kitten to understand his view. The only remainder of this narrative that seems consistent in the English localization seems to be the line where Dottore is depicted as a “lone monster” and the tale references that he felt solace when the kitten joined them (with the mention of them both desiring to be foxes, which is an allegory for wanting to fit in with the humans). To add to this, the original Chinese of Scaramouche’s story text in his profile reads "(the Doctor) warmly welcomed the puppet and delicately cared for him in the years to come." From this we might speculate that rather than only being jealous of Scaramouche for being accepted, he had finally found another outcast who could maybe understand him. And he wanted it to remain that way without anyone's interference at the time. Which touches up on Dottore's possible loneliness and his need for companionship, to be understood and have an equal who could match his views of the world that had long since been rejected.
I think the monster is Dottore since whatever he was wearing was light blue like his hair and his “face” was in the shape of the plague doctor’s mask that he wears in his shoulder…the kitten is obviously scara since he has red eyeliner and the feather around his neck

So if what ei wanted which is to let scara decide his own fate he turns into the gentle wanderer we met? He's gentle but still empty inside, it seems that fate is cruel to scara either way
yeah it's tragic no matter where you look, ei thought he deserved freedom but unintentionally making him feel abandoned in the process, and just when he thought he found people he could be with that genuinely loved him, the entire community is destroyed by a cruel experiment. Tries to find love and companionship again, found it in a child, but said child also ends up dying from the same thing that destroyed his previous community. Doesn't really excuse all the destruction he caused later on and he should take accountability and make up for it (from the quest it sounds like he's gonna try and do that), but it does make you feel sorry for him, makes you wonder about all the "what ifs" that could've happened for none of this to happen to him
I just realized something. Abyss mages also wear bird masks like Dottore does. Could just be cosmetic coincidence, but it wouldn't surprise me if Dottore and the Jester have ties to the Abyss Order.
I actually want to take who ever made this as i finally understand wanderer’s past story (I didn’t quite understand the actual one and this actually helped a lot-) 😂
From the notes scattered around Sumeru, We can tell that Zandik (Dottore's real name, Which means "Heretic" in Arabic btw) might've been a narcissist. Envy is a huge trait of narcissistic people. So, Who knows. Maybe he did feel envious towards Wanderer. After all, He seems to have been an outcast. Everyone did not agree with what he was doing and no one understood him nor supported his passion.
One does need to be narcissistic to feel capable of envy, though it’s very possible that Dottore developed his present sense of pride as a response to how he was ostracized and shunned from the community.
scarameow being made from a white tree is sus SUS, there’s only one white tree connecting genshin lore and it’s irminsul - he’s mentioned to be a transcendent divine being, so it can’t be just any white tree ei found
By "return the world to darkness and swallow the moon", this would be an analogy to him wanting to obtain deityhood with the gnosis and destroying the world?
Edit: Dottore is the monster. You’re all wrong, the foxes represent the people of Inazuma. The gray fox with a red streak is Niwa. The monster is in fact Dottore that killed Niwa. The bird is the little boy that was ill and later died.
I wonder what was the reason Nahida made Scara a black cat And the foxes his "friends" And Dottore a "fox" in her fairytale. It might just be her literally freedom, but maybe there's a deeper meaning onto it since she's the god of wisdom or sommthin..
I dunno its cute perhaps. Also foxes are also part of a wisdom meaning , yet Dottore isn't (i mean man is arrogant, total opposite) , i guess she put a black cat cause i dunno black cat are normally sign of misfortune yet the foxes litteraly took him in
I think Dottore was mad because he just wasted his time pretending to be one of these people meanwhile Scaramouche was just himself. Like- "so I could have been myself this entire time?!"
Dottore is the monster. The monster looks like a hilichurl without a mask on (also looking at its reflection, which is why hilichurls wear masks). Dottore might be living with the curse but presenting as a human. Perhaps he looks like a hilichurl under his mask?
Smell a little bit of dottore lore I'll never pull him or ei for scara to be comfortable, but I'm all ear for his story✨ always interested in their pov or what they've been trough
Probably just an added thing for it to be fit as a fairy tale. From what i understood, dottore has always been aiming to cause chaos in inazuma, but the kabukimono appears and dottore took an interest in him, and eventually recruited him after the incident with the kid
@@JFreetard it's probably how he felt. My guess is that somewhere deep down, the sicko's really upset that he's ostracized when he shows how corrupt and cruel his means of progression and entertainment are. He probably acted out of line and started warping the furnace for tataragami energy when Scaramouche showed up since the future Balladeer was fully accepted despite being seen as a hollow being. My point is the psychopath could only hide in plain sight while Kunikuzushi would be accepted openly. Il Dottore still showed up looking for Scaramouche, but was set off when Scaramouche was found by the Tatarasuna natives and accepted. He's probably had points where he had to hide his Psychopathic nature and still gets pissed when he sees others not in the same situation.

The pale flame artifact lore also states how people banished him from his homeland for his beliefs and mentality. In the Sumeru AQ, he says that he doesn't want to be rejected by the academia for a *second time* . He got angry about how everyone keeps rejected him while scara, despite of his inhuman origins is treated so nicely and thus he killed miwa to destroy scara's life

(And who knows, with there being so many different segments who could have different personalities then theoretically nothing is "out of character" for Dottore until we know more)
But I'm afraid that based on what we know so far, Dottore didn't care about people being nice to him or treating him as "one of their own" and that wouldn't have emotionally touched him at all.
Dottore playable confirmed
@@Mercyfalls he still care about people being nice to him remember at the archon quest he said he was disappointed that no one cared about his academic experiments
@@Mercyfalls Another interesting fact, this should be the original dottore. Go check out wanderer’s story, it explains that dottore used scaramouche’s blueprint to able to establish making his own segments after scaramouche joined the fatui. at this point scaramouche have yet to join the fatui, this this should be the original dottore.
since all Dottore's clones have something different in some aspect, its not wrong to assume that at least one would achieve empathy eventually.
who knows maybe we get to meet a Rogue Dottore Clone who gets to be playable.
Well that makes the Pale Princess and The Six Pygmies even more interesting. Anyways, I never thought I'd see Scaramouche as a kitten in literally the game in my life. I want Scarakitten as a plushie now.
I completely forgot what that was, can you share what you know about it

I got mine at lazada it's so adorable and soft wtf 😭😭
I just noticed; this tells of one important detail among many! Scarakitten buried the bird; he didn't burn him down! It really was a funeral pyre! Take that, haters!
And he tried to burn the doll to see if a heart appears, but it didnt. Everytime his lore is more sad
@@VerdanaMedina where did you hear or find this info?
@@nunocampea2395 it might be the youngest if that's ever gonna happen, just bc hyv somehow made him the last to speak and was the only one that spoke very clearly compared to the other clones who kind of just talked over each other
@@niffleraku wasnt the last to speak one with a very evil madman tone? but yeah it also sounds kind of young.

Scara’s tears never failed to touch me
damn..their artstyle has improved too much:)
nahida's a good storyteller
"And no one can know that they were different."
I wonder if Nahida got that impression from Scaramouche himself, or if she applied it to him. Because, if it was the case that she saw it in him... then that means all Scaramouche really wanted as an Archon was to destroy the boundaries between all people, so there were no more outcasts and misfits. So everyone would belong.
This! That’s what I was thinking . God damn this little detail is so important to understand his intentions
I believe there are far more obvious ways to identify who is who than the designs of the animals.
The monster also killed the fox with the red stripe in his fur, like Dottore killing Niwa
@@baronsionis6855 well duh...but I saw some people saying it wasn't dottore before, so I wanted to give my two cents. Thats all.
Yeah it’s 100% dottore, can’t believe there’s people thinking otherwise lmao.

Interesting fairy tale so maybe
"Pale Princess And 6 Pygmies" Or should we say :
"Abyss Twin And 6 Archons"
but there are 7 archons?
Maybe... Since the traveler is gender dependent on the player... It's actually about the Tsaritsa?
@@peepostaringintoyoursoul3699 The Dendro Archon had to stay with Irminsul, so perhaps the Khaenre'ah Cataclysm was the "Abyss Twin and the Six Archons".
I think its not about the gender , cause its a fairy tail.
Yes it is , only 6 archons that appear in Khaenriah. The Dendro one have more important task

The greatest secrets can be discovered in the most childish of places.
Scaramouche three betrayals but nahida version:
So if what ei wanted which is to let scara decide his own fate he turns into the gentle wanderer we met? He's gentle but still empty inside, it seems that fate is cruel to scara either way
yeah it's tragic no matter where you look, ei thought he deserved freedom but unintentionally making him feel abandoned in the process, and just when he thought he found people he could be with that genuinely loved him, the entire community is destroyed by a cruel experiment. Tries to find love and companionship again, found it in a child, but said child also ends up dying from the same thing that destroyed his previous community. Doesn't really excuse all the destruction he caused later on and he should take accountability and make up for it (from the quest it sounds like he's gonna try and do that), but it does make you feel sorry for him, makes you wonder about all the "what ifs" that could've happened for none of this to happen to him
@@niffleraku I wonder how his Wanderer life was like before he came to Sumeru.
the chubby blue monster fox is so cute lmaoooooooooo
The monster seems to have some guilty within him. Interesting take on Dottore.
The fact that nahida got the big brain to stockpile/store scara's past is why she is the archon of wisdom

Man Nahida is so smart she was able to make a record that was not wiped away before scaramouche did what he did.
So basically books are basically records of hidden or forbidden knowledge in Teyvat. All those weird books quite have some sense now
I just realized something. Abyss mages also wear bird masks like Dottore does. Could just be cosmetic coincidence, but it wouldn't surprise me if Dottore and the Jester have ties to the Abyss Order.
Genshin gets darker and darker every quest istg😭
Now we know why Venti was so insistent on turning everything into a poem/sonnet... this is getting interesting
Can we just appreciate the background music for a second😭
I actually want to take who ever made this as i finally understand wanderer’s past story (I didn’t quite understand the actual one and this actually helped a lot-) 😂
1:35 I can't help but die of laughter every time I hear this godforsaken word, GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
The forbidden knowledge has influenced your life.
Koomaxx's prediction of Cat-eared Scaramouche came true.
One does need to be narcissistic to feel capable of envy, though it’s very possible that Dottore developed his present sense of pride as a response to how he was ostracized and shunned from the community.
scarameow being made from a white tree is sus SUS, there’s only one white tree connecting genshin lore and it’s irminsul
- he’s mentioned to be a transcendent divine being, so it can’t be just any white tree ei found
By "return the world to darkness and swallow the moon", this would be an analogy to him wanting to obtain deityhood with the gnosis and destroying the world?
i planned to give scara some meme name but because of this story my heart melted and i called him koneko (kitten in japanese)
The kitten is Scaramouche (The Wanderer), The foxes are the people in Teyvat and the "monster" is ???
Dotorre
Maybe Yae? Nah, idk
Nah, the foxes are the Fatui. The one with the glasses represents Pantalone and the one with the cane represents Pulcinella. The grey fox is Pierro
Edit: Dottore is the monster. You’re all wrong, the foxes represent the people of Inazuma. The gray fox with a red streak is Niwa. The monster is in fact Dottore that killed Niwa. The bird is the little boy that was ill and later died.
Dottore obv look at it
I wonder what was the reason Nahida made Scara a black cat
And the foxes his "friends"
And Dottore a "fox" in her fairytale.
It might just be her literally freedom, but maybe there's a deeper meaning onto it since she's the god of wisdom or sommthin..
I dunno its cute perhaps. Also foxes are also part of a wisdom meaning , yet Dottore isn't (i mean man is arrogant, total opposite) , i guess she put a black cat cause i dunno black cat are normally sign of misfortune yet the foxes litteraly took him in
That's a really well-fed cat lol
Are you calling scara fat
you dare gaze upon it?!
Nice now I can watch it everyday :)
I think Dottore was mad because he just wasted his time pretending to be one of these people meanwhile Scaramouche was just himself. Like- "so I could have been myself this entire time?!"
You are a cat now Wanderer.
Scaramouche literally gives Scourge warrior cats vibes
This is why I named him kitten
You are the cleverest AMONGUS....
I think the last line tells that if Scaramouche succeeds he is going to destroy Irminsul.
Dottore is the monster. The monster looks like a hilichurl without a mask on (also looking at its reflection, which is why hilichurls wear masks). Dottore might be living with the curse but presenting as a human. Perhaps he looks like a hilichurl under his mask?
Sissel is Scaramouche?
That's a plot twist to that plot twist.

Smell a little bit of dottore lore
I'll never pull him or ei for scara to be comfortable, but I'm all ear for his story✨ always interested in their pov or what they've been trough
So did Dottore was jealous of Scara for been accepted and he was rejected or he just simple plain Evil ?

The more I am playing Genshin Impact, the more I am convinced that the entire Honkaiverse (i.e. Honkai Impact and Gemshin Impact) is just the other side of the reality to the Kingdom Hearts universe.
So I definitely played this quest but don't remember 😭
My fave part of the quest
So Dottore is jealous of friendship ? or becuz he is afraid that he would be cast out if he shows his true self ?
Just like what others are saying, i also think that dottore isn't exactly jealous of scaramouche making friends, but he is pissed that scara, who is a inhuman vessel created by electro archon, is so readily accepted into the society while he has to hide his true, twisted self to be accepted by the people. The pale flame artifact lore also states how people banished him from his homeland for his beliefs and mentality. In the Sumeru AQ, he says that he doesn't want to be rejected by the academia for a *second time* . He got angry about how everyone keeps rejected him while scara, despite of his inhuman origins is treated so nicely and thus he killed miwa to destroy scara's life
Who the hell is the artist!!!!!! I love this drawings omg
i just realized the gray fox has a red hair strip or whatever u call it is Niwa😓😓😓

So why is dottore a monster before committing crimes? Is he an abyss character? Like he’s indicated to be a monster prior to doing anything and looking at his reflection. Reminds me of the concept of the abyss wearing masks.
Which I haven’t even gotten that far. First play thru I really was casual, this play thru I’ve left Lisa’s book quest cause it always seemed fishy to me.
When he was a child people around him called him one. He was called a monster all his life and took it to heart as an adult
