How to Read a CTA of the Chest Pulmonary Embolism Protocol

  • In this video, I review how to read a CTA Chest Pulmonary Embolism study. This is a very commonly ordered study out of the emergency room and on inpatient units for patients with acute onset chest pain, dyspnea or in those presenting with syncope. An elevated D-dimer is another common reason these studies are ordered.

    What is the difference between CTA and pulmonary angiogram

      Classically when I hear pulmonary angiogram I think interventional rads going in and doing pulmonary injections while watching under fluoroscopy. A CT pulmonary angiogram would be like the images I showed in this video. Its kinfa confusing as you pointed out.
