I wish that I had listened when she was trying to teach but now I have you. I’ve never tried cooking chicken and dumplings because it is intimidating from cookbooks. I love how we can take some of the simplest things and make such a delicious meal out of it, this was one of my favorite meals, we would have a sweet potato with it and would thank our Mom for such a fine meal. Lord I miss my Mothers cooking 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

Now that's real chicken and dumplings!!!!❤❤ my grandmother use to make them this way and they were crazy good. Those drop ball dumplings and using biscuits or noodles, is not chicken and dumplings. I'm making these!! Just one thing! I love peas and carrots. I'm going to throw some up in it!! And you definitely can't forget that black pepper!

I buy that brand of dry buttermilk. Our stores here in Upstate NY only sell buttermilk by the quart, and I've never needed that much. I would have to toss the rest down the sink drain. This brand of buttermilk works very well in recipes, too.

If I am in a hurry I use flour tortillas shells for the dumplings. I cut them in strips, add to the pot cook for 10 minutes. It is good.

Today is November 25th 2023 I'm saying that because I want you to know exactly what day I watch this video and my husband just asked me this morning when I got up do I know how to make chicken and dumplings. Am I acid to him was no cuz I don't I used to watch my mom make him every time she made them but I guess I didn't watch good enough because I never did learn it must have been nothing but God that sent this video to me because I always told him I have always wanted to know how to make them and you make him exactly like my mom really really thin I love that I am definitely going to remember this recipe and I'm definitely going to make them cuz I already have my chicken may I have for Thanksgiving because it was just me and my husband but it was like a whole one left just about and that's what I'm going to use to make my chicken and dumplings for him I couldn't do nothing but smile when I seen this video pop up thank you so much this was a teaching lesson for me and I needed it just saying
