Sebastian, you NEED to try Athena Fragrances Shams Dubai. It's an almost exact clone of Babycat. I've been comparing them side by side and the only noticable difference is Babycat is ever so slightly stronger on the incense where Shams has a slightly stronger vanilla note. But Shams lasts hours longer than Babycat making it a really, really good alternative. I can't recommend it enough. I thought it would be useful to talk about on your channel since so many folks can't even get their hands on Babycat.
Ok, I'm jealous over the Gucci Envy and the Chanel No. 5 Leau (just because of the bottle). Glad to see you are also a fan of Claiborne for Men. I loved that stuff back in the 90s. Though it may have been a bit mature for a teenager, I wore the crap out of it back then. I have a newer bottle and the formula smells great but the performance isn't what ir used to be. Its always been a cologne but the newer ones are definitely weaker and you have to reapply if you want to keep the scent going. Oh well, its dirt cheap and I don't wear it all that often anyway.
Gucci Envy and Plum Japonais, have never smelled either, but those are two famous discontinued and difficult to find fragrances, so congrats Sebastian!
Gucci Envy, great find! As an alternative to that gem, I have found Nasumato Pardon close enough to scratch the itch for Envy. Liz Claiborne is not the same today as yesteryear, but I find Byredo Bal d' afrique as a great alternative. Great video!
How bizarre! I literally just took delivery of a bottle of Smokey Plum from Egypt today, following your prior recommendation. I'm really surprised how similar it is to Plum Japonais and it performs ridiculously well too. Many thanks for the suggestion. Plum Japonais is one of my very favourite perfumes. I'm extremely happy to have an alternative to stop me using up the small amount of the original I have left. Love the videos. That rochas bottle brought back so many memories ! I was obsessed with that smell when I was in my early 20’s,I’m scared to buy it again because I know it must have been watered down. Dune,Herrera for men,Aqua di gio pi by givenchy and rochas man were life changing smells for me.
I'd love to have all of these fragrances. What fragrance is most similar to the Sergio Tacchini but still available and still good? Your fragrance library keeps getting better. Also, in regards to "Rochas Man", I like that one, and I agree that lavender combines well with a coffee/cappuccino note. I wish I could have a vintage formulation of it: I've only tried a modern formulation of it which I have in my collection.

I watched your video years ago comparing Floris Santal and Carven Homme to Envy and purchased both on the cheap (back when Carven was a steal) and it’s gotten me by, but as a collector I’m still waiting on the day I can put a bottle of Envy in my collection. I have 2 bottles of Envy (the exact discontinuation year is 2011 and the 2 reformulations were in 2004 and 2008) and 2 of Nobile (30ml + 120ml). Nobody talk about Nobile because it has been discontinued in 2003 and most of people don't even know this frag but man to me it's the best aromatic fougere I've ever smelled! Plum Japonais is a must have obviously😉. Alexandria Forbidden Plum is also very close to the TF...
The rochas perfume is something special and i had more than 5 years ago it is very special, for me i want to try the armani bottle because the notes are just exceptional i guess it will be my next blind acquisition 😉

Did some research for you with help of Ebay postings: Don Quichotte fragrance is by a French company called Melfleurs. They also had a female version with similar design called Donna Paola which was released in 2005. So I guess your bottle is also from early 00’s

I find Bond No. 9 New Haarlem very close to Rochas Man and also stronger. They are both by the same perfumer actually. As far as I know, Rochas Man kinda vanished for some time and recently was brought back, but I imagine it is lighter these days. There was an Intense version back in the days but I was never able to smell it...

You're a very lucky guy to be gifted Gucci Envy for Men and Gucci Nobile. Two of my favorites. I have to 15ml bottles of Envy - they had 15ml bottles of it in the same bottle design. And I have the Dua clone and the ScentualObsessions clone of it. Gucci Nobile is closer to the Drakkar Noir and Houbigant Duc de Vervins L'Extreme DNA, and the closest present day release is probably Rogue Perfumery Bon Monsieur.

Pardon from Nasomatto? No I don't think so. Earlier on I had a video on two fragrances that I thought were similar to Envy. But if you can find those two fragrances you can enjoy something similar to Guccy Envy! :)
Olivier Polge did such a great renditon of the original No 5 with L'eau, so enjoyable! I have a healthy appreciation for the original, but is decidedly not one I would wear.
I wish I could have a bottle of Gucci "Envy" because I truly like that one. When I was in middle school in 1995, I had a social studies teacher who wore something which is very similar to "Envy", but he was wearing it years before "Envy" was first released. What fragrance could that have been?
Most sources seem to suggest that Envy was discontinued in around 2010, but it was apparently still found on discounters for years after that, I don't think it was really a hot commodity until it started to gain a cult following. I bought a bottle in 2009. Like you, I sampled it and I bought a bottle I think for around $100 or so retail, and not long after I bought it I dropped it on the floor of my bathroom and it shattered because I was a noob/idiot and I grabbed it by that black cap. Never ever grab your fragrances by the cap, but especially not Envy because the glass bottle is very heavy compared to the cap, which clicks into place but it isn't very secure! Anyways, all these years later I had to pay a premium for it, but I found a bottle very close to home actually and I did pay a premium for it like you kind of have to for something like that, but to date it's the cheapest bottle I've ever found anywhere, and it was like 95% full and it smells even better than I remember it, it has a really prominent sandalwood note that kind of reminds me of being in a sweat lodge, no other designer fragrances I've smelled have this realistic of a sandalwood note in them. Wish they would bring it back!

Hello. Don Quichotte was made by Melfleurs (Paris) 102 AV DES CHAMPS ELYSEES 75008 PARIS 8. I could see that it was available at least between 2002-2004 but no exact dates sorry. Melfleurs was founded in 1988. No confirmed details on notes that I've found so far but I hope that helps.
I've heard of Gucci Envy. Ash at GentScents speaks about it a lot. I never got to smell it before it was discontinued. That Rochas Man juice looks really, really dark compared to newer bottles.

Angel has so many interesting flankers. I generally wish I wasn't repulsed by the patchouli because I have tried so many times with Angel, I can't seem to get acquainted.
Love Horizon, even if many people find the initial blast a bit off-putting and even refer to it as the smell of „cat-pee“. Nevertheless, one of my favorite aromatic fragrances from the nineties. Have two backup bottles and actually both came without a cellophane wrapping, so seems to be the way it was sold.
I had envy 23 years ago. Wish Tom would do it under his own house. It was great. Nobile I had as a teen in early 90s. Nice but long time ago. Fresh if I remember rightly. Very old school. Do they still smell ok after all this time

Guy Laroche Horizon has a distinct note of parsley (or chicken soup with parsley) that I cannot stand. So I've sold it.
Royal Tobacco by Amouage reminded me of Plum Japonis when I first smelled it.
Such a fan of plum, I'd kill for a bottle of plum japonais cause I've heard it's so good

Angel has so many interesting flankers. I generally wish I wasn't repulsed by the patchouli because I have tried so many times with Angel, I can't seem to get acquainted.

Love Horizon, even if many people find the initial blast a bit off-putting and even refer to it as the smell of „cat-pee“. Nevertheless, one of my favorite aromatic fragrances from the nineties. Have two backup bottles and actually both came without a cellophane wrapping, so seems to be the way it was sold.
My bottle of Envy is almost empty, I just kept that last 10ml to remind myself of this amazing fragrance.
Oh darn. Yeah it's so hard to find for a reasonable price now.
Gucci Guilty - why don't the clone houses do a remake if it? It's such a stand-out fragrance!

I had envy 23 years ago. Wish Tom would do it under his own house. It was great. Nobile I had as a teen in early 90s. Nice but long time ago. Fresh if I remember rightly. Very old school. Do they still smell ok after all this time
The drydown of Fougère d'Argent has some Envy facets, PDM Habdan as well..
I still have 2 bottles of Envy + 2 Nobile and believe me Nobile isn't dated at all..

instead of the rocha men get it from Bond 9 new haarlem, it is much stronger and from the same perfume and is currently available again at Bond 9😊
I used to wear New Haarlem from 2012 - 2015. But I don't speak or promote that brand anymore. Heck no! :(

Check out the new rochas man intense (2023) re-launched, I think it will be more concentrated and dense, i really love this fragance. Saludos!
