Crystal Plaid usually happens around naadam or in big races the rich sponsor the riders are about 4-10 years old so that the horses do not tire easy and the race is between 15-35km long depending on the age of the horses also they race in age groups a race horse is preraded and cared for 24/7 before the race and is chosen by masters who judge the horse
