Relay Racing is a high-adrenaline event that requires a powerful combination of teamwork, precision and horsemanship.
The best Indigenous Relay Racing teams take to the track each night at the Calgary Stampede at the conclusion of the Cowboys Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races. Ten teams show off their incredible skills, with riders mounted bareback racing the track at top speed, then leaping off to swap horses before taking off on another lap.

These are exhilarating to watch. This doesn't give you the up close drama there actually is at the exchanges. When you can get up close at smaller venues it is quite frightening. Narrow tracks, huge horses...many ex track horses. Fun scary stuff to watch and so unpredictable. I wish we had more of them actually.
