  • FULL BUILD of P-40N Warhawk in 1:32 by Trumpeter.
    Buildis OOB except for the Montex canopy mask and Kelik 3D decals in cockpit.
    The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American, single-engine, metal fighter-attack aircraft in a low wing configuration with a classic tail. The flight of the prototype took place in 1938, and serial production was carried out in the years 1938-1944. The last of the Hawk family of planes - the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was, apart from the Republic P-47 and the North American P-51 Mustang, the most widely built American fighter. At the end of production in December 1944, the number of machines exceeded 15,000. The development of the design began in 1937, when the prototype airframe of version 75 was adapted to the installation of the 1167HP Allison V-1710-11 in-line engine. The plane became the first American construction capable of flying at speeds over 483 km / h. The version for the RAF was called the Tomahawk Mk IIA. The planes had self-sealing fuel tanks and two wing-mounted 7.7mm machine guns. The Tomahawk MkIIB were equipped with American radio hardware and armed with six 7.7mm machine guns. Some American P-40s were modernized in 1941 for reconnaissance tasks. They received the designation RP-40. Meanwhile, work on the Hawk 81-A was underway at the Curtiss facility. The changes included the installation of the Allison V-1710-39 engine with a capacity of 1167KM, providing constant power up to a height of 3563 meters, adaptation for installation in the wing of four 12.7mm machine guns and the installation of a fuselage node that could carry one bomb weighing 227 kg or thrown back additional fuel tank. The US Army placed an order for these machines in September 1940, awarding them the designation P-40D. Over the next three years, Curtiss made every effort to expand the application possibilities of the P-40, creating numerous new versions of the aircraft. Despite these efforts, Warhawk's performance was lower than that of contemporary Allied and Axis fighters. Technical data (P-40E version): length: 9.66m, wingspan: 11.38m, height: 3.76m, maximum speed: 580km / h, rate of climb: 11m / s, maximum range: 1100km, practical ceiling: 8800m, armament: fixed - 6 M2 machine guns, caliber 12.7 mm, suspended - up to 900 kg of cargo.

    G'Day ModelFun I've read a lot of negative reviews about the Trumpeter !/32 P40 and the inaccuracies in the kit(fuselage length, nose shape, incorrect cockpit). But I have to say "if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck" then it has to be a P-40 😁 Excellent build, I might have to go buy one now. Cheers 👍👍😁😁

      Hello @mikey6020 Thank you for watching and your comment. Yes I read the same. Here is one review I checked:
      www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/tru/kit_tru_2212.shtml
      But still, like you said- it does look like a P40, and most of the negative comments are about the cockpit - wich after the completion is not very much visible. I wish all models are 100% accurate... but well. For the decent money this one goest toghether with no issues and for me the outcome is satisfying :)
      Cheers!

    Elegancki.

    Nice job mate. I'm building this model at the moment and I know how crappy the panel fit and gaps are, in fact the unfinished model has sat for 7 months due to disappointment in the appalling gaps. I also fitted the Big Ed detail set and Brassin wheel set, which cost more than the original model!!! I had a lot of drama with the locating tabs when fitting the lower wing. You've inspired me to press on, cheers!

    Fabulous! Going right in and drill the tires on my GWH P-40B. Great idea! Like the shading on the wings too, looks a bit like "oil canning". Might have to get me
    one of these Trumpy "N"'s.

    • @modelfun
      @modelfun  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. I'm happy you like it. One note thou, not sure if this is also the case in P-40B, but in N version for sure the part behind the pilot seat should not be painted in cocpit green color. I got this info too late, but maybe for you it is not yet too late to avoid this mistake. It most likely should be in the camouflage color, so in my case - olive drab.
      Cheers and happy modeling!

    • @modelfun
      @modelfun  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thank you for watching. Small screws are used to make the rubber tyre flat, so the model look like the waight is there and the tyre is a bit flat.

    WOW I am completely impressed by the quality of your build! I can see that you are continually learning new techniques and that really shows in this one. I need to watch your video a couple more times to soak it all in. By the way my 'stang will be finished soon and while I'm overall happy with the way it's turning out I find it lacking in certain respects when I compare it to the quality of your build. But it is the best I can do so I'll try to not judge model building abilities too harshly. Have you decided what model you will build next?

    Witam,
    Jak ten kit wypada w porównaniu do Hasegawa 1:32 P-40N?

    • @modelfun

      Pozdrawiam.
