The winter table and miniatures are looking fantastic! I’m really looking forward to a CoC campaign with them! Also, this is the perfect amount of terrain for a game of Bolt Action - plenty of line of site blocking terrain but not too much hardcover that would make it impossible to kill each other’s units. Great work!
A suggestion for a stopgap temporary solution to make your forests look more 'winterish' would be to give your trees a light dusting with 'snow in a can'.
When Trumpets Fade...a great film. I did a walk through of part of the Huertgen Forest in 1991 with my battalion officers. It was amazing to think of trying to fight battles there.
33:38: The US 57mm is only a medium AT gun, thus +5 PEN, which would have resulted in a glance (5 +3 = 8, which is the side armor value). With a roll of "2" that would have been a crew stunned result, rather than immobilized. Ah...the heat of battle!
One of the easiest ways I found to make terrain was to use wall paper. And it comes in all different colours if you want to go from snow to a Martian landscape..
I know that since you guys don’t play BA a ton all the little rules are easily forgotten. But when the 57 shot the STuG it didn’t penetrate. The 57 has a PEN of 5, but you lose 1 for long range AP shots. So a PEN of 4, + the die roll of 3 vs armor armor 9 (-1 for side armor). Or a pen of 5+3 vs 9, however you look at it. Anyway, just keepin’ ya honest! 😄 Good game guys, wish I lived up there so I could hang out.
When shooting at the German mortar @ 26min, you didn’t take into consideration the small team -1 to modifier due to only one man still being alive in that unit.
The first shot with the Sherman probably would of been long range as well. So a 6, not a 5. When the German MMG shot its 6 shots not 5. Same thing with the Stug. And I’ve seen the way you play in your videos. Puts all the dice in the bag to try and get the first die but doesn’t and then you say “oh yeah, I meant to leave the gun in ambush”. What a douche. HMG loses its pen at long range. Medics can’t save on exceptional. And of course you did this a couple times. The mortar and the officer squad. You ended up killing the mortar and an officer assistant because you forgot a very basic rule! And even worse yet the officer ran because he failed the moral check because of this. small team! -1 for firing! You missed. When your BS ambush was triggered again the tank, you of course messed up again. Long range and soft cover. Yes, men give you soft cover when they are being shot through by enemy. So you would of hit anyways with the 5 but you have a pen of 5! Armour 9-1 for side shot, then your 5 (not 6) plus 3 is superficial damage. You need to do way better with the rules and if you’re going to film a game don’t cheat so much. The other guy isn’t a good player and he’s forgiving on top of it. Wow, and then you did that shitty thing to get the first die again. Pulls first die and it’s yours, then “oh I wanted to leave them on ambush”... what an ass. And you ended up hitting the Stug again with the exact same results that wouldn’t of done anything both times. No immobilization or fire. You matched the armour not beat it. You have a 57mm AT gun, that’s a medium gun not a heavy. Your pen in 5 not 6! And when the Germans assaulted those US troops he got two 6’s, he rolls those again because he may get exceptional damage. And just because you’re about to lose doesn’t mean your Sherman can fire over your men. Once again, what a douche move in bending the rules to try and win. Love how it then turned into, “oh well see if you pass the order test then you win”, “oh you passed the order test, well we should really pull die and play this out”. You’re pathetic dude. It wasn’t an American victory, pfft. Of course you would say that. I’ve lost games before where I have wiped the enemy from the table but it doesn’t matter because you need the objectives. So no, it’s a draw.

Every time that I watch Tabletop CP, it makes me want to get into Bolt Action.
I love the "When trumpets fade" explanation of what a "push" is. As always excellent video and I am learning a lot. Good job.

Loved that medic rule about adding a further plus 1 to the save roll. Going to house rule that.

Great to see some Bolt Action. Been missing it.
Loving the frosty winter terrain figures. They look brilliant, they actually make me feel cold looking at them!

It is amazing how different your game of Bolt Action looks with a new mat! Nice looking armies too.
When Trumpets Fade is the darkest WW2 movie I've ever seen.
It's a good one
Great to see some Bolt Action again, the Travis luck returns!
dam those winter troops look good, DAM GOOD!
Yes! More Bolt Action! Thankyou.
Great job! Good to see BA again and the Winter Mini’s. More BA and C&C please. Keep up the great work.
Winter table is awesome. thank you for your programs so much fun to watch. Got 2 anticovid shots in . Now I can play
Lovely table and scenery boys, you guys have improved so much since the early days. Well Done.
Most beautiful and impressive winter atmosphere, another great looking game on an immersive table... 👍👍

The snow looks very good. Lots of winter stuff nice.
Great game figures and terrain looking top notch well done 👏
Being from the midwest, love me some winter terrain. Looks chilly 8-))
Fantastic Battle rep, hoping we could get more Bolt Action and soon! Great game!
One of the easiest ways I found to make terrain was to use wall paper. And it comes in all different colours if you want to go from snow to a Martian landscape..
Great Battle report!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great game, loved it! Thanks
Great game guys. Check out Setting the Scene: Winter Wargaming by Pat Smith. It has the best tips, especially for removeable snow on roofs.
I love the videos! Can I please request the battle of Carentan? I’d really appreciate it. Keep up the good work guys.
I don’t have an American airborne army to do carentan sadly.
Now you have a reason to build an Airborne army 😜
Really nice Table :)

Nice game, thanks for more great content👍🏻
38:50 HMG is 36" range. Half would have been 18", so you probably were at short range.
Sir the table you use is 8 foot by 4ft with the tray, meaning 6x4 playing space? Correct?
Exactly.
nice game!
The medic holds the center doesn't he? Isn't that a German victory?
Medics can’t hold anything.
@@tabletopcp Roger that, my bad.
Oops...after being immobilized, the Stug takes two pins and goes Down...no shooting. The rules, the rules.
Hey nice game, you played a long time no BA seems you are rusty. Some minor errors but the Officer is a small team so you should miss him.
Yea we forgot the small team. Damn.
@@tabletopcp, I also think the mortar get the small team thing because he counts as infantry. But very good painted armies.
Sorry buddy, one more. The AT gun only has +5 PEN so on long range you would not stop the StuH with your ambush.
When the stuH-42 was hit by the AT Gun and because the shot penetrated the StuH-42, it should have immediatelly gone down!!!
When the US killed the German officer should it have been hitting on 5s due to the Germans being a small squad as well?
Probably. Quite likely we made a mistake.
Wow, thanks for responding! Love the battle reports you make. Just learning bolt action so I’m still trying to nail down all of the rules.
@@iiiiiii5 no prob man. We make some mistakes every game but overall we have the rules down pretty well I think.
What are the dimensions of your table?
It’s the standard 6x4
@@tabletopcp awesome! Last question but what are you guys using for pin counters?

La verdad es que en muchos casos no contaban los obstaculos para los americanos y el teniente aleman no deberia huir por el más uno
