Holy crap Travis! That reminded me of some of my French Brigade charges against James' lone militia battalion and he ends up rolling straight 6's for 10 rounds in a row and wipes out my entire Brigade! Sorry Brother, better luck next battle👍😂
Great game as always. Japanese are fanatics so if they are not down to the last man you do not have to test morale. Steve will have to give those dice to an opponent now. They will never roll as well again. Look forward to seeing some more Bolt Action.
Some rule things Travis, the Japanese are fanatics, they never test for losses until the last man also in melee, if you loose it is a draw and just refight. Steve got the dice right out of hell, they were on fire.
Unless I am missing the point, down just means taking cover, not necessarily cowering in the fetal position. Maybe a better simple rule is that whomever has the fewer pins goes first. If both same number of pins, still simultaneous, else roll. Good idea none the less and agree that CC should be a little more predictable from a game perspective.
I did some back of the envelope math on the wacky dice rolling. If the outcome of a roll was expected (leadership test), or approximately matched odds, I scored it as "Neutral", if the result was unexpected, or the roll favored Steve or Travis, I scored it as such. Steve had 29 favorable rolls to Travis' 20 favorable rolls. (Neutral was 40 rolls). Steve shot 118 bullets to Travis' 42 (Quantity has a quality all its own). Travis shot 7 HE/AT rounds to Steve's 3. Fisticuffs, yea, we will not talk about that :-)
I like the whole “put the hills UNDER the battle mat” idea. Evens slopes out and looks like it’s easier to balance the models.
Visually it's really subtle but then again I'm from the GW generation of steppe-level hills.
