You're welcome! Make sure if you're rolling back from version 15.23 that you also rename "chunkG11.bin" to "chunkG11.bin.old" so that the game no longer recognizes it. That chunk is just for new advertisement content for Wilds and breaks the rollback version (you get stuck on a black screen).
I know you joined the discord to ask, but for the sake of anyone else coming here for answers: if Steam refuses to cooperate, there is this that should help github.com/mmvanheusden/SteamDepotDownloaderGUI
Off the top of my head, I believe you are either on 15.22 still (check the main menu when you launch the game, sometimes the rollback can go wrong) or you may need to reinstall the mod. Especially if you see odd monster names like "Fatalis" or "Aptonoth", I recommend reinstalling the mod. Oh, and if you're on a fresh character, you cannot use the menu until you unlock the ability to craft weapons and armor. It doesn't work and may crash your game.
@@carmandirda Thanks for the answer, much appreciated. I'll try reinstalling -- the rollback also seems not to have worked properly, so I will try to fiddle with that.
Yes. Whoever the host is, it will change everyone's monstie to theirs. If they have a level 99 Zinogre, so will you for that mission if they host it. But same for lower levels. If they host with a level 5 Legiana, that's your monstie that mission. Which is honestly good for helping lower levels without carrying them, so their monstie will be at their level.
Do you know if any Save Editors allow me to roll my save back to a version compatible with 15.21? I've been playing on 15.22 before discovering this mod and really want to add Stories Iceborne, but I'm almost 200 hours in. It's hard to imagine losing all that, and my ability to play online publicly for several more months, I've seen Save Editors on Nexus Mods, and was wondering if there was any way that a save editor might be able to change whatever it is about my save that becomes incompatible between game versions? I assume that at the very least a save editor should help me recreate where I am in 15.22, but I'm wondering if there is any way to carry over my current save more directly.
I don't have any experience with save editors (I always keep auto-updates off on any modded games). My best advice is to backup your current progress before trying to use them in case things go wrong. I'm afraid outside of that, the mod forums, Reddit and google will have better answers than I will. You can also try asking in the discord for the Stories mod or in the Official Monster Hunter Modding Discord (which you can access through the Stories discord). Someone else there may have more experience using them.

I've also now been told that save editors may not be able to help you, but as long as you make backups of your save somewhere away from your game files (like shown in this video) you should be able to recover it if things go wrong.
