    I think the coolest thing about using the visual method is the overhead view that it gives of your surroundings....trees, other cars... parking lot lines, etc.

      I have a Nov 21 refresh S. After no update for 2 months, I finally got update with auto park today.
      The overhead view has been in other cars for a few years.

      @@henrylee8510 I hear that many older model S and X were on a different code branch and that had to be updated first. Unlike other OEMs, who would wait until they could release it to everyone all at once, Tesla releases updates to who they can when they can. OEMs would therefore take years to do so sometimes.
      However it is frustrating for Tesla owners at the end of the queue.
      Interestingly model S and X had the ability to shift into drive or reverse automatically on detecting what it thought you wanted to do. No other cars had that until recently. I think that feature may have been on a different code line and that might have played a part in the delay for some folks depending on the specific code branch they were on.
      Tesla, going forward, may decide to simplify and give everyone the same feature sets at the same time going forward. I think they found they had too many code branches and this was slowing down the push out of FSD features to many.

      @@nickmcconnell1291 is mine an older model? They started delivering refresh models in June or July of 2021, i got mine a few months later. I wouldn't consider that old but I could be wrong. When I think of older models I think of the pre-refresh ones.
      I hear about different HW versions like HW4. Not sure what I have or what version I have

      @@henrylee8510 They started shipping HW4 in model S at the beginning of 2023. Your car is not old but may have been on a software level that took awhile for Tesla to get upgraded. I think they are making great efforts to reduce the number of software levels that they have out there.

    I am a numbers person, but when I am trying to make quick decisions, the visual drive is a far superior Human Machine Interface (HMI). It took me three times watching this video to finally appreciate vision drive. As you said "...Tesla has a knack of creating technology that you did not think you needed" 👈🏾

    Got the update yesterday. Little slow but I found the parking has improved. Nice being able to choose location. Car pulls ahead, and is better able to position itself to back up and park in on one try. Previously the car never pulled forward before trying to park.

    I think it's a shame the MS and MX don't have an option to extend the visualizations to the center console screen. That would allow you to view the visualizations (FSD and Park Assist) on a larger screen as well as adjust the camera angle. If you're paying for a higher end model, it should include all of the functionality of the lower end models.
    Off topic, but I also think you should have greater control over the FSD visualization camera angle including full zoom out, bird's eye view, and ability to lock the camera setting in place instead of timed auto snap-back.

    2:08 One slight correction: the vision park assist works even on intel atom, they just don’t get the 3D visualization (as shown in the release notes you are showing). Atom gives only top down view with no ability to see all the different angles.

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The 3D visualization (being able to move it around) is what Vision Park Assist is. Autopark with Vision Assist on just turns the USS off and uses Vision only which is where you get the top down heat map. Being able to render the 3d space in real-time is the limiting factor for the processor.

    • @UniqueApparently
      @UniqueApparently 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BlackTesla Vision in this context has to do with the systems perception stack - not the visualization we see - they are completely decoupled and the vision stack handles everything regardless of what is threaded to the MCU/gpu for us to see.
      The reason the atom has to use the top down method (with no 3D volumes) is because the volumetric rendering is very GPU intensive, and when moving away from levelset conversion of the volumes, they couldn’t get the intel HD 505 to hold an acceptable frame rate. Ryzen systems have no issue since the Navi gfx1032 is significantly faster.
      The FSD computer handles everything under the hood regardless of the visuals, And vision park assist refers to the computer using cameras to perceive and navigate its surroundings using depth and feed-forward planning. You may be correct though on the USS going offline if the toggle is flipped (for newer Ryzen’s) but vision doesn’t seem to use the USS regardless of the wavy noodle rendering (the heat map seems to be preferred or translated when vpa is enabled)
      Keep up the great content!

      I thought folks said Atom doesn't have HAVE the menu option to enable Vision Park Assist? Does it still render cars/objects/lines, if you don't have FSD but do have HW3, on Atom cars?
      or just the USS range lines?

    I am still in my 2014 Model S so I can see what has improved over the last 10 years. Ok: Autopark for perpendicular now allows parking between lines, rather than only between two cars. But that’s the only improvement. In crowded Hong Kong I find autopark between two cars is plenty fast.

    i tested this out today for the first time, works ok but takes a little bit of time. It's pretty good but if I compare it to my S580 you can tell they got a little bit of work to do. Mercedes will get into seriously challenging spots but I think that's due to 10 degree rear steering. 12.3.6 is working pretty good also, however, it seems a bit timid a bunch of times I'm testing it. I still stand by 12.3 has been the best version yet. Can't wait for 12.4 as this apparently will be another huge jump and all this V12 data should be compiled by then

    ❤ I’m so impressed with the V12 updates that we have been receiving. Thank you so much for doing this parking video! I just received the same software on my Model S and I was wondering about the difference between the options.
    One thing that I have noticed is that the car has much more difficulty in parking garages with a lot of support pillars… in my trial so far, it doesn’t ever choose a spot if it is between pillars, which we have a lot of in our condo. Speaking of this, do you think that it will ever be able to drive up several floors of underground parking? My only accident in about 45 years of driving was hitting a post in the very constrained underground parking of our building. I really wish it could do maneuver in and out of our parking spot, which is 4 floors underground.😂

    Questions: 1, are you going to stay with Tesla Vision or standard? Personally, I’ll definitely stay with Tesla Vision once I receive it, especially considering I’m on a 3 and can actually see the visualizations.
    2. If you have Tesla Vision enabled, does it affect Summon/Smart Summon in any way, or do those still use the USS?

    I've tried using it like 5 times and only got one success. It's just far too slow to where people around you get annoyed and/or get to close to the car and it just stops. And I've even got it into the perfect spot where it just has to reverse and yet it decides to creep forward and turn the wheel, long pause, flip into reverse, and go 1mph into the spot. there is no scenario where using it is easier, better, or faster than me doing it myself.

I've having trouble finding a combination of variables that I feel happy/safe with. Even in chill modes with FSD it seems overally aggressive at times. . I know if I was the car behind my Tesla, I would have certainly made my displeasure known, Then there are other times when an easy entry into a lane setting up for an exit ramp could be made, but, the AI tries to gain a couple of car lengths and again squeeze into a space and try to make an exit. I'm the one paying for the insurance, so I always have that in mind when I "protest" what the AI "thinks" is possible.

      @@BlackTeslaHi - I did a bit of testing this evening. Autopark worked with mixed results. The Tesla maneuvered to a parking place and parked itself, but the parking place I selected, Tesla acknowledged, and the spot that the Tesla parked in were distinctly different. That same behavior was repeatable. My testing might also explain why the Tesla makes lane changes the way it does, even when I've selected the mildest of response settings. I'm becoming convinced that what is displayed on the center screen, and what the Tesla can respond to is problematic. The "Y" has a blind spot that I can't address. The side view mirrors don't pivot enough to see that blind spot, and I don't think the cameras can "see and respond to it either. I honestly hope there is a camera issue, and not an AI issue, because there's been more than one lane change that has been executed by the Tesla with a car approaching rapidly, and in pretty close proximity to my car, yet the Tesla made the change anyway. I'm going to recalibrate the camera at my home and let the cameras recalibrate which I believe takes upwards of 100 miles to accomplish. Tesla Vision seems to have problems, and if the recal doesn't resolve the issue, I'm making an appointment with Telsa If Tesla says everything is functioning ok, That's good to know, but I won't subscribe to FSD regardless of the price. Right now my confidence level is pretty low.
