I think people are mistaken wrt this feature. It is set on the car (ie by the driver and not necessarily by the owner). It is not set on the app. Also note that the app user is not necessarily the owner. An app user that happens to be the car owner might want to check on the location of a driver without that driver knowing, but if the driver is also an app user then they would be able to check the location of the owner when the owner is driving. What you are really suggesting, I think, is the ability to identify one app user as the owner of the car, leaving all other app users as secondary. And then giving the owner more control than the other app users. At present, the car doesn't really distinguish between app users and treats them all equally, not withstanding that the true owner can add/remove users.
The “new” sounds are the way they should be. That would drive me crazy if they did that in my Model Y lol. It should be very clear to the driver what is going on and it wasn’t before. The volume display now more matches the rest of the UI. Glad i found your page fam!
Thanks for watching. I think your comparing the sounds of the Model Y before and after and from that perspective yes the sounds are useful. However I'm comparing the sounds of the S/X to the new sounds of the 3/Y and its not fitting compared to the older sound imo

While I do like the tone of the old shift sounds more, I think the new sounds better match the drive/reverse/park actions, such as the drive sound now being an “up” sound, reverse being a double “down” sound and park being a clear triple “down” sound. Maybe they could do the same thing but with the old tones. Old tones were reversed with the up/down sounds and park was just a single “down” tone.

I just canceled my monthly subscription, FSB beta wants to cause an accident by jerking between 2 lanes. It happened several times in one day. Texas construction traffic is not forgiving.
FSD Beta report button logs location and telemetry with video clips. The problem isn't location sharing its the notification to the driver that the location is being accessed.

Can you click on the location sharing icon that appears when someone activates it for your car? It should be clickable, you see their info & can accept/reject on case by case basis. Put a password on it if the owner wants to override a rejection by driver.
Location sharing would be more acceptable if the icon or a voice tells me who’s asking. Is it my daughter making sure I’m ok? Or is it some unknown? Sounds: I agree. The old sounds for D, R and P were more grown-up and dignified.
since this update i cant locate my car - has my house address - and i can see its being driven by my kid but i can’t see location. anyone else ? i turned it off 4 times and nothing changed!

If you want to know the location of someone who is using your car - the fact that it shows that is a good thing (not bad) Why? because then the driver always knows you can be monitored and deter them from going where they shouldnt be going....... Don't see why that's a bad thing.
Regarding the change to the new sounds and volume display....... that's just you dude, just you. It was actually kind of humorous😂 when you were talking about. As to volume, where the slider might be at or what number is displayed is a big yawn. My ears always tell me when I hit the right spot. Also, Serenity(2005) was a damn good movie worth checking out if you've never seen it. I'll give you a pass on old sounds pref, some of us older guys resist change. However, bringing your wife into the argument was low........a bit biased ain't she?

I strongly advise disengaging for construction zones or active school zones.

It's not a bad thing, the bad thing is that you can't turn the notication off without disabling mobile access. Sort of all or nothing.
