    Mine arrived this week just 7 months after I ordered it. Despite the delay in getting it, I am really happy with it. It is already helping my playing improve and it sounds really good. It’s worth the price just if you use it as a Bluetooth speaker. Latest info suggests they have caught up and shipped all existing orders and even have some in stock (Aug 2020) with a price rise coming soon. I have a Katana Air and a Yamaha THR10 and the Spark has left them sitting on the shelf and I am thinking of selling them - its that good.

      For US anyway delays are not only covid shutdown, but guessing customs difficulties as well due to current trade policies. Users in non-US countries might be getting them a bit sooner/more consistently- not an expert here but possible explanation. Shame we have to wait, but to me it'll be worth it. Totally understand if some people feel jilted and want to cancel and find an alternative. That said I don't have any problems with 100 or whatever of the devices going to youtubers for marketing purposes- that in itself is just accepted practice for online sales. Additionally most of the review videos I've seen are spaced pretty evenly over the last 6 months (based on post dates). Taken all together, can't find much fault with positive grid with the delays since I believe they want them in the hands of people almost as much as we want them. Do I still want mine to show on my door tomorrow? Yep. Is there a possibility it'll all go sour and customers will all get burned? Yep, I just don't think it'll go down that way.

Thanks much, CIAO :-)

Also im thinking of getting either this or the Boss Katana MKII what do you reckon you would go for if you were to choose something. Cheers mate!

    • @GuitarZero2Hero
      @GuitarZero2Hero  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Reuben. It was a US plug but the power brick allows you to connect your own IEC-C7 cable which I had lying around the house. Both are great options, I guess it depends on what you wanna use it for. The software for the Spark is far superior. In terms of tone both will be the same in capability. But the Katana is a more versatile amp if you want to play live or with a band as it’s got a much bigger speaker and more wattage. The Spark is more of a home desktop amp.

    If you had to choose between the Spark and Boss Katana, which would it be? In terms of features and then sound.

    • @GuitarZero2Hero
      @GuitarZero2Hero  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Here's what I wrote to another viewer "They're two different amps essentially. Boss Katana is an amazing amp that is probably more versatile as you can change it from 0.5W to 25W to 50W so you can use it for quiet practice or for gigging with a live band. The tone studio is very detailed as well so lots more options to tweak your tone. The downside is that the tone studio only works on PC or Mac, no mobile support at this stage. There's also no bluetooth connectivity to use the Katana as a standalone speaker.
      The Spark is equally as nice but for different reasons, I love it as a desktop practice amp. You wouldn't really be able to have your Katana on your desk. The Spark amp is really simple to use and being mobile friendly is super convenient. And being bluetooth compatible means it doubles as a great music speaker too for listening to music. It is 40W so it is loud, however definitely wouldn't be gigging with it. In terms of effects, it has fewer options than the Katana, but there are 30 amp models in the Spark as opposed to the Katana which has 10.
      In summary, I think they're equally as good. You just need to decide what's best for your needs."

      Hey, I have played for around 5 years now! I wouldnt reccomend this amp, as while it is clever it just wont sound good with 4 inch speakers. Ideally you want to try get an amp with 10 or 12 inch speakers. The boss katana is an amazing amp, and will sound great, however if you are a beginner, you might not even need something that big. I would look at the size just below the boss katana 50, I think it is 30 or something, as you dont wont something too loud as in a bedroom you have to literally feather the volume nob or it is too loud so you dont need something too loud. The boss katana has a bigger speaker which can move more air causing more bass. Also, it's the real thing! Another amazing amp, is the PRS MT 15, as well as the prs MT 1x12 cab, which together can be bedroom volume but enough for small gigs. That amp has great clean sounds as well as crazy metal tones, and it is full valve, like all amps pros use, and gives the 'real sound' rather than a digital amp which will never sound the same

      @GuitarZero2Hero  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're two different amps essentially.
You just need to decide what's best for your needs.

    • @spor5521
      @spor5521 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GuitarZero2Hero brilliant thank you! Personally I have no desire or ambition to ever gig or play in public, which is why I'm drawn to the spark. I'm just a bedroom player.
      I also really love the idea of typing in a band to the tone cloud and getting "their sound" (or at least close to it) ... Rather than having to tweak settings/find it myself - as I would have to do on the katana. If that makes sense!

    Great review, thank you! Might be a silly question but when you say you can "save four preset tones to the amp without having to go to the app" does that mean you can configure a tone using the more advanced controls in the app and then call on that sound later without needing the app? Or does the tone you create have to have come from the physical controls on the amp only? Thanks in advance!

    • @GuitarZero2Hero
      @GuitarZero2Hero  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rachel! Yes you can save any advanced preset from the app onto your amp so you can come back to those 4 custom sounds without the app. :)

    When you create a chord progression and the app plays back with drums and bass, is there a way to take this further and actually create a complete track with bridges, choruses, etc? If not, what’s the best way to achieve this? I’m thinking about buying their X Drummer app, but I’m not sure if the amp and it’s app works with the Drummer app. Also, is there a looper option for layering loops? And what about using pedals? I know the amp doesn’t come with a foot switch, but it would be nice if it worked with wah pedals, amp splitters, expression pedals, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can’t find any reviews that discuss any of this and the website has little info. Thanks.

    With the chord progression that you used to create a drum and bass back track, can you add the actual chords you played into the jam track and then just play the lead over the top. So you would have drums, bass, your rhythm chords together and then play or record your lead on top of all that?

    • @mikegibsonincognito4580
      @mikegibsonincognito4580 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you can’t add the chords, but you can use backing tracks from TH-cam which are analysed and the chord progression gets loaded for you to play over. Very Cool.
