    Best demo of these 3 out there. I have the 40 & mini with the go on order. This really shows how muddy the 30 is vs the mini. The go doesn’t seem to carry the warmth but will definitely serve a purpose.

    Well done. Appreciated you throwing a 57 on all of them and then actually playing the same riffs. Simple yet rarely done. I have a GO on order. One thing that you didn't mention that I am assuming is true: When you were pointing out the differences in tone between them, you didn't mention that none of that matters if you're using it as an interface. Since the guts are the same, I have to think that negates how they sound in the room as the speakers are being bypassed. Thanks!

    Out of the three models, I'd pick the Spark Go. If I want more volume, I'd use a powered speaker (either a PA speaker a Headrush FR/FR), or maybe a clean guitar amp (eg 2nd hand Roland Cube from Cash Converters).

    wow! thanks for this! I have a GO on order (and looking forward to its arrival soon!) - but I must say, my spark 40 sounds WAY better than what you got in your shootout. I have heard about the bass-heavy sound from other commenters (disclosure: I am a bass player - but I use the spark for guitar) but I have not noticed a problem - sounds nice and bright and balanced and beautiful to me (guitar only - bluetooth streaming is quite dark, but I rarely use it for that) - I mostly use the blackface twin amp model with a touch of reverb and a smidge of flange - one of my fav amps!

    I just got the Go and was pleasantly surprised by its clarity when compared to my mate's 40. Definitely missing some mid-range but as an 80s/90s metal guy I just see that as the mids being pre-scooped for me :D Definitely a cracking little practice amp but I would love to be able to pair it with bluetooth headphones as, combined with a wireless system, this would make it a superb wire-free solution. I guess there must be some weirdness with it being a bluetooth speaker going on here.

    • @GuitarZero2Hero
      @GuitarZero2Hero  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Marvin. So yes there is a difference in volume. I tested in a 3x3m room. Playing music at full blast on both.
      With the GO, standing 2m away - you would still be able to have a conversation with someone at a medium-loud level of speaking. But nothing that would strain your voice.
      With the mini 2m away you’d have trouble hearing the other person and would have to raise your voice.
      The passive radiator on the mini really does pump the bass a lot more than the GO.
      All that said, the GO still has decent volume for its size. But it can’t defy physics!

    Thank you for that 4 track demo. Best I have seen as you played the same part, recorded the same way. How novel! (LOL) But nobody does it. I totally appreciated it. I own the Go. And love the idea of adding the Mini down the line; whereas I think the 40 sounds too bassy and distant. The Go and the Mini (on the other hand) sound the same, just that one is bigger in size & sound. And while the Mini might be portable, I can strap the Go to my guitar strap and walk around the house & back yard while playing a sound that I will be able to replicate (just a little bigger) with the Mini (when I get one).

    I’m torn between the mini and the go. Is the mini worth the extra amount of money?

      Depends on how you’ll use it. The mini sounds a lot better and is much louder. The size of the Go is a massive appeal though if you want something small that can fit in any gig bag

    Great video! Also, is there a chance that you could make a guitar tutorial for “wish you the best” by Lewis capaldi?

    I like the Go for overdrive over the mini Its much smoother. The mini sounds like the Brady Bunch 60s stomp box or little big muff. Im getting the GO. If it isnt portable enough to fit in your case whats the use? No one really straps these on like a pig nose and walks around the park anymore. The GO is perfect to always have with your guitar bag or case.

    I'm curious how they sound in room...and you addressed it, the 40 sounded off compared to the other 2. The Mini isn't very far off the 40 in price, but the Go is crazy cheap. I was looking at audio interfaces and this makes a lot more sense than picking up a used Scarlett. Am I going to regret the actual in-room sound vs the Mini? I was tempted by some of the Vox Tube practice amp offerings, no reason I'd have to stop with just one amp. Not sure how long the 40 has been out but of all the modeling practice amps I have yet to come across any Positive Grid amps on Marketplace, which probably says something

    Thanks for the video. I don't play electric and I am wondering if I could use this as an amp for practising at home with a Takamine acoustic guitar (which with has a built-in pickup & pre-amp) and a looper pedal?

    Can anyone answer on whether the Mini and GO have improved on the following: I had a Spark 40 when they first came out, and there were a couple of things I really didn't like. First was the reverb- always WAY too much, I guess trying to make it sound big and impressive, but I'm a light reverb kind of guy. The other thing, which is why I sold it, was the terribly over-emphasized bass, which again, I'm guessing was an attempt to compensate for the amp's small size. And the Gain control would also increase the bass, which I though was ridiculous- the only way to get a decent sound was to keep the gain low and use the pedal models for dirt. Never seen any piece of gear designed to increase the bass response when you turn up the gain. Do the Mini and GO have these issues?

    just got mt spark go today, what a great sound! very nice product overall, but right from the box annoying cracklings when in full volume mode and with a distortion preset... however, once i updated the firmware and activate the hi-z option, the crackling was gone (hi-z option did the same thing i did, basically limiting the volume a little bit).

    What worries me is if the GO has any problem to be used with cable (specially normal “I” cables, not the “L” used in the video) caused by being so small and light. It seems like it’s not going to remain standing in its right position as soon as you move the cable a bit. Thanks!

    • @GuitarZero2Hero
      @GuitarZero2Hero  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yup you're absolutely right, it's easy to knock over. I mainly use mine with a wireless unit so that's not an issue, but with a cable, for sure that's a downside.

    Do I hear an Aussie accent? If so,.. I've noticed several guitar guys from Australia lately.
    Very cool and says a lot for a strong music culture there!
    Spark 40 sounds like you're in a box. Surprising the Spark Go has more depth of sound. Strange.
    Currently,.. Pre-Orders @ $109 for this tiny little guy!

    What does Positive Grid do with the music that I play and they gather? I guess I/we should be reading the user terms & conditions. I know Sony's Acid Music software states that any music recorded on their software is legally property of Sony
