- Hi welcome to today's vlog on the Lake District Places To Visit In 2024. Cathy and i headed off on a 90 minute drive from Darlington to the Lake District to visit a few places starting off with a traditional stop off i always do is at Cranston's Food Hall in Penrith on route. Although pricey Cranston's is very upmarket the food is amazing.
After the food stop we its off to a couple of villages that lie on Ullswater lake Glennridden and Patterdale, both lovely places and well worth a visit. Finishing off we take a stroll through Keswick and the market.

Hi David, it is beautiful. Thank you very much mate😎🙏🏻
The people in Dubai don't like the Flintstones, but the people in Abu Dhabi do. Enjoy Richy.
Haha thanks Tim.

They are both great supermarkets mate, pricey but good food💯👌🏻
You’re in my stomping ground richy , love cranstons. I was up there today. I can’t drive past Cranstons on my way to Carlisle. Hotel prices in the lakes now are ridiculous tho. I camped at bays brown £12.50
It is really good isn’t it, it’s a tradition for me. I always do the same, tent on my back and I wild camp in the mountains for a few days.
my wife Sharon seen you today, she said you looked well, and you were looking forward to getting back to Thailand ,safe travels mate ❤
Ahh is this you Rich, I didn’t know ha. Thanks mate👍🏻❤️
I’m going on a three month mooch next week Richy. First stop Kanchanaburi then onto Vang Vien and ending up in Danang. I will pick my favourite spot and stay for longer. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks John, that’ll be a great trip mate I love all three of them Cities👌🏻
great vid mate beautiful place you should take Kathy/Cathy for a holiday to Thailand for a while.. look forward to see you back in Thailand
Thanks Andy, unfortunately Cath hates flying and hot weather mate.
Thanks!
Thank you very much Jack.
Hi Richy those arthritis bands work for me use to suffer with chronic back pain since wearing them problem solved better than pain killers
Hi mate, that’s good to hear. If I have any problems in the future I’ll definitely try one out.
I can only imagine what those sausage rolls taste like delish anybody says food not good in great Britain they know zero about good flavour some scran cheers richie hope to meet you in Thailand one sunny day thank you very much
Thanks very much mate, it would be great to meet you. I know the food here is really good, ok it’s expensive but that’s no surprise now.
Safe trip back to the Land of Smiles, Richy! I hope you are feeling rested and ready to go again, mate! Don't forget to watch the 2nd leg wherever you are, getting ready for the final.
Thanks Glenn and yes definitely mate I’ll be watching it somewhere.
Lovely video mate. I stayed in that hotel. Ulswater inn. Lovely day for it to. Safe travels back to Asia 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Jonny, it looked like a nice hotel that and Glenridden is a beautiful little village isn’t it👌🏻
@@ParkinsonRaw yeah mate beautiful. I seen the lads when they were rebuilding the bridge and retaining walls. I was gona ask for a job so I could stay 😂👌
Richy we miss you in Thailand when you going home? happy you are having a break at home
Hi Robert, I’m on route back now mate. Next vlog will be the travel day which will be on TH-cam Wednesday. Thanks
It's nice to get free parking some places 👍
It is mate, especially with the cost of parking there👌🏻
I visited the 'Ocean Marina' near Ban Amphur near Bangsaray today! It was raining and cool! Had lunch at the Lakeside and just sat enjoying the view and the cool! Cheers!
Thanks Seni I’ll have to check it out next time I’m near, it looks like a beautiful place.
@@ParkinsonRaw I have a boat nearby.
Morning, Richy!
What is the price of living these days in the UK? Is it a strain at the moment, or are people doing OK? It's tough out here in Australia at the moment for most.
So you can have a carrot cake slice, or 1 nights budget accommodation in Thailand? 🤔
OMG how lush is the scenery around the lake!! 😍
Those chocolate donuts looked pretty good from Booths. 🍩 They would be great warmed up with ice cream, I reckon.
Great to see the markets, too.
Morning Greg,
The UK is struggling too mate, just for my monthly rent back home alone covers most of the cost of one month in Thailand. Food is extortionate too and I can’t see it getting better anytime soon if ever.
The lakes district is amazing, when I was living back home I spent a lot of time there in the mountains. That’s why the walks I do in Asia are no problem👍🏻
The donuts were lovely and yes they would be great warmed up with ice cream, I’ll be trying that next time😊
Nice one Richy. it is a most expensive place and so I will avoid it. If part of a Group Visit then I would consider the place but it is now a total rip-off area. I'm off to Huddersfi9eld where 90% shops are shut.
That’s Tim, it is frustrating to put it mildly what’s going on in the UK now mate. The places that aren’t closing are charging insane prices. The government have a lot to answer for.
Richy when you back in SE Asia ? will you be here for the play off final should we get there ?
I’m heading back tomorrow John, I’m confident we’ll beat Norwich at home.
@@ParkinsonRaw i fly out 31st July for 13 weeks if you are visiting Ayutthaya whilst I'm there , we will have to hook up . ill be at Wembley should we make it even without a ticket
@johnshores4745 13 weeks will be a nice trip mate, I shouldn’t be to far away in that time and it would be great to meet up. Getting tickets is going to be hard but I’m the same I like to go either way and enjoy the atmosphere.
Bet you notice the rip off Britain prices more since coming back I did 😂
It was crazy to see Dave, they shot up before I left but in the 10 months I’ve been away I can’t believe how much they’ve risen again.
