The idea behind most consumer electrical products manufacturing today is to built them as cheaply as possible to maximise profit and for this companies making money is more important than making quality products example here was with White Knight dryers that are not produced anymore and instead we got this cheap Chinese tumble dryers that don't last 6 months. Very good video Jay Richie.
I had something exactly like that blue Lasko fan. I believe mine was a galaxy, but I got it after my grandmother passed away in 2020. Soon after the motor burnt out and I unfortunatley had to get rid of it. Good stuff though, high quality. They're not made like that anymore.
I had the cheap modern one on the right before, the thing died after a couple of years. Also the thermal fuse sometimes just doesn't work as intended which is bad. Even the lower quality vintage fans like pifco spinairs are better than what we crap get today.
Interesting comparison, even that modern lasko is a much nicer design and probably better quality than that white thing. never realised how flimsy those things actually were🤣
Such a big difference! Nice comparison. The Lasko fans are beautiful
Cheers buddy! Yeah appliances were genuinely appealing back then.
I remember buying a 12" Galaxy 2150 Brown / Tan Oscillating Fan for $27.95 back in 1985 at Woolworths in Santa Monica.
I wish I had been more aware of fans when I lived there lol
Vintage will always better than today junk. Good video bro I enjoyed it
Agreed! And many thanks 😊

You're 100% correct there. The base line is money.
Great comparison bro! Hate the modern junk as you know 😂
Cheers bro ❤️

@FLAMER_Official-g2p shame it burnt out on you. They aren't known for it. Yes the Galaxy came in blue as well. Such a nice colour
1:50 thats not 2000s, that is late 2010s
2000s fans are way better quality still
These were around from the 2000s here
4:53 more like being made out of glassy plastic
They're both glossy, the blue is much stronger plastic
@RichieRouge206, it's acrylic plastic it's what they also used on the Japanese fans back in the days.

You're absolutely right on that lol

Yeah it's more a reflection how the general quality of things has declined sadly
Love this video! The 1980s fan was clearly built to last. The white one just screams chinese junk…
Definitely 😁 and thank you
anyone who owns a bin shaped fan would be deadpan-d
aka nyxi/knight
I am not sure what you mean by that comment
Wow
